Common Questions and Answers about Olanzapine lorazepam

zyprexa

Avatar f tn In order to wean off of the lorazepam, you will have to decrease the dose very slowly. If you are currently taking one 1mg tablet at bedtime, you can decrease that to 0.5mg (half a tablet) at bedtime for a week or so. If that doesn’t work, you can try to cut the tablets into quarters and take 0.75mg. Just monitor how you feel to be sure you are not experiencing withdrawal symptoms. I would also discuss this with your prescribing physician as well.
Avatar f tn 1/4 of 20 fluoxetine and 5mg olanzapine combo and 3/4 lorazepam is high or low.
Avatar m tn Surely I took : Olanzapine, Aripiprazole, Lorazepam, quetiapine and Zypadhera. Maybe: more... It was not for depression, bipolar nor schizophrenia, but for some other thing, that is similar to schizophrenia.

Avatar f tn I am about to switch from olanzapine to seroquel. Is it ok to just stop taking olanzapine and start taking seroquel? I am on a very low dose of olanzapine.
Avatar f tn I was put on olanzapine an anti phycotic on top of my fluvoxamine meleate 200mg for deap depression after and home invasion. While the olanzaoine was helpful with my depression i think it was also causing leg pain. the longer I took it for the worse the pain got and more pain meds I needed to take to get threw my day to just walk. Once I was strong enough to come off olanzapine I weaned my self off and the leg pain started to get better over time.
Avatar f tn 5 mg trifluoperazine and 1mg trihexyphenidyle hydrochloride, 1 aripiprazole and 1mg lorazepam which ihave now reduced to half as per above. before all of this i was on olanzapine and fluozetine combo, 1 tab of 2.5 mg trifluoperazine and 1 mg trihexyphenidyl hydrochloride and 1 mg of lorazepam. my eyesight has deteriorated aND my pdoc says it has nothingto do with eyes.
Avatar f tn While I have not taken it, I know that a good deal of the antipsychotics out there, including olanzapine, can cause sedation. Antipsychotics can also be activating where they will cause insomnia if you take them before falling asleep. I'm sure there are people here who have taken it and experienced sedation.
6452367 tn?1430944592 Will Olanzapine help with withdrawals from Oxycodone. I am down to 10mg of Oxy and it has been a fight for me.. I did wean myself off Hydrocodone which made me happy but then I got on oxy 30 mg and have reduced my dosage. Will this medicine help me.
Avatar n tn Both Olanzapine and Resperidone are atypical antipsychotics. So, basically, you will be taking the same class of antipsychotics. Resperidone is however a very potent antipsychotic. The response to treatment has been found to be more stable with Resperidone, so that’s a plus point with this drug. Both drugs cause similar side effects, but Olanzapine shows fewer motor function side effects than Resperidone in comaparative clinical trials.
Avatar f tn They took me to psychiatrist that put me on olanzapine 10mg and kept me in the hospital for 10 days. Traumatic experience. Than after 2-3 months the doctor put me on 7mg, and now I'm on 5 mg olanzapine. It was harder to cope with rest of the world the first few mounts. I didn''t want to do the things I wanted, It was hard to cope with my previous social life, I felt like I have nothing to talk to my friends, like my brain is empty, like I'm brain washed.
603015 tn?1329862973 Hi I have started to tapper off olanzapine because of the weight gain, I have noticed that after just a week on the reduced amount I have started to have sleep problems, I am finding it harder and harder to get to sleep, then when I do get to sleep I am waking through the night, could this be the reduction in the med and what should I do if anything, im not due to see me pdoc until 1 june when I would be fully off this med.
Avatar f tn 5mg and Buproprion XL 300mg... After a couple months and not much change my doctor adds in Olanzapine 5mg, problem is I've been doing a bit of research online and am now too nervous to take the Olanzapine(Zyprexa) with the Clonazepam(Klonopin). Every thing I've seen has basically said that these two can interact very badly causing shallow breathing, loss of consciousness, etc. It would be much appreciated if I could get some feedback from anyone who has taken the two together.
Avatar f tn I have been on olanzapine for 15 years and has helped me greatly with anxiety, and other mental health conditions. I am 35 years old and have over the past 7 weeks experienced extreme pain in my feet and ankles. I had also over the past 6 months experienced tingling in the feet and legs which I believe is a side effect of long term use off olanzapine. I have been very concerned over the servere pain in my feet as it is all over the foot and can be painful to walk on.
Avatar m tn Last night I took my first olanzapine pill(5mg), for panic attacks and apparently I did some weird things in my sleep. My girlfriend said my legs were twitching, and sounded like I was choking when I was snoring. It only happened last night, and not this morning when I was sleeping. I feel normal today, just a little dizzy(I slept 15 hours). Is this normal?? Thanks Also, I can't stop sleeping!
Avatar m tn Hello, I have been diagnosed and treated for psychotic depression, OCD, anxiety for last few years. I was on olanzapine for 1 year (5mg), and it worked like making me sleepy really quickly and knocked me out in within 10 mins. Then I was on and off basis as I was not so glad to taking medications because all next I was sleepy. Recently my condition has worsened and I am taking 2.5 mg as said by doctor (take when required and your condition etc).
Avatar m tn Hi there So I'm not officially bipolar but I've had to deal with highs and lows for a long time, with antidepressants either not working or sending me walking with angels and talking to trees....After this I took olanzapine 5mg. I think it worked on the mood but it's hard to tell because they made me so unbelievably anxious, whilst sedating me so that I felt I couldn't participate in conversations because my thinking was so slowed.
429209 tn?1224166589 i was on lorazepam (ativan) for 5 years....over those 5 years, knew NOTHING about this drug other than it was what my doctor prescribed for me for my sleep issues after trying every other single thing out there on the market, both prescription and OTC and natural....began at .5 mg....because your body gradually builds up a tolerance to this med, it takes more and more to achieve the same goal....so after five years, i was taking 3 mg and even that wasn't helping as much anymore.....
Avatar n tn I was just prescribed Lorazepam it's the .5mg dosage. I recived the drugs yesterday. I am going on a trip this weekend I i got them to help with the flights The doctor wanted me to try two last night just to see how my body reacts. Well two wasn't doing to much, so I took two more... and more... uo to ten. It really just made me drowsy, a little slow and wabaly. Do you think there are worse conseqences to come? I know it was a very stupid thing to do!
6168959 tn?1379392259 HI, I take prozac daily, but still have panic attacks and real unease throughout the day. my doc put me on lorazepam to help with it, and said take @ 1 mg pill 3 times a day....it helps, but makes me so super tired! is this normal procedure for doctors? the prozac is the best antidepressant i think i've ever been on...makes me feel alot like myself if you know what i mean, but why am i having to pair it with lorazepam? am i wrong in thinking prozac is doing such a great job?
1247613 tn?1268785691 The anxiety had become extreme to the point of serious panic attacks. My mother sent me something called lorazepam, she tells me that if I have an attack, I should take it. I wanted to ask a doctor's opinion before I actually take it at the time of my panic attacks which usually occurs at night. Oh also, if it maters, I haven't had my period in almost 2 years and I have asthma as well as a history of UTIs. So... should I take Lorazepam for my panic attacks with all this history?
