Avatar m tn I have oily skin with mild acne. In the morning (5am) and before bed(10pm) I use my medicated cleanser and moisturizer. When i come home from work I shower (5pm) and I'm not sure if I should use my medicated products or something different because if I use my medicated products than I would be applying the medication 3x a day. I normally reapply my make-up after I shower so I am forced to wash my face before bed as I will not sleep with make-up on.
Avatar n tn This is what I did and it finally worked after trying every med and over the counter product there ever was. Here is my regimen, of by the way, I am really light skinned and have oily skin. I stopped drinking milk, I noticed when I drank milk I developed cysts. Milk produces hormones that are known to break people out. I know drink almond milk. I also use this product called tanda, its a bit expensive but it works, its a blue light therapy that eliminated bacteria in your face.
Avatar n tn About 3 weeks after I started using it my skin changed. Now I rarely have any spots and my skin is neither oily nor dry, I only occasionally get a few spots when I have my period. So despite sounding like a commercial for Clinique: try it!
Avatar n tn Hi there, I was wondering what is the best skin care regimen that I can follow? I am a 22 year old male, have combination skin, mainly oily in my T-zone and i have many black heads.Occasionally i will get pimples in that region. Specifically I was wondering if you could make any recommendations as to what products I should use, and being that I am a male, i would expect i should be looking for different things in products.
Avatar n tn Hi there, I have used Eva's Esthetic Skin Care for years and my skin has never been better. It is a small company out of Oakland, CA. I'm going to give you the web site. Visit it and then call the 800 number. Ask for Patti. She is a wonderful person and will answer your questions. evaskincare.com Good luck to you!
Avatar f tn I have never had any problems with oily skin or oily hair ever. I wash my hair daily and condition. I have not changed my daily regimen in 2 years One thing I have tried was applied Shower to Shower powder to my hair before going to bed and washed out in the morning (not the sexiest looking thing at night but it helps). It drastically reduced the oil, but came back 2 days later. The only thing I worry about is clogging the glands that are producing the oil, so I don't do it daily...
Avatar n tn -Based on the previous statement, I googled and conducted tons of research why my skin would be getting dry/itchy/red as the oil was returning (very weird considering oily skin is suppose to make your skin less dry). -I came up with the conclusion that I had seborrheic dermatitis, and went to a few dermatologists who tried to treat me for it. -None of the treatments for seborrheic dermatitis worked, and I was getting desperate to try anything.
Avatar f tn My facial skin was beautiful but a little oily, and since I started to use these products a week ago, I hgot two pimples one in my cheek and one in my chin that hurt, are are red, my whole face especially from the eyes down is veryyy dry and no moisturizer helps so far, i have a few red paches, one next to my nose under my eye and then some parts of my cheeks get very itchy and then red. My nostrils and sides or mouth are more dry than the rest of the face and the skin is cracked.

Avatar n tn Perhaps you are in luck and your oily skin has matured a little, which is causing the oily skin treatment regimen to be too strong. Our skin goes through stages. The salicylic acid wash is very drying. I'd try stopping that first. If that's not enough, then can you stop the topical retinoiid A? If the Cetaphil isn't moisturizing enough, I'd ask the dermatologist what he recommends.
Avatar n tn Is there something I'm doing wrong, or should I change anything from my regimen? I have oily skin, mostly in the t-section(forehead, nose, chin). Currently, in the mornings I wake up, wash my face with dove soap, dry my face and apply sunscreen (neutrogena spf45). I then apply makeup. At night I remove my makeup with neutrogena makeup wipes, wash my face with dove soap, pat dry.
Avatar m tn If I attempt to put anything on my skin whether it would be a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, or even hot water, my skin becomes extremely red and it does not calm down and disappear. My face can become oily and very dry at the same time. After applying water to my face, my face becomes so dry that it feels that it is hardening up and it becomes inflamed, but when I don’t do anything my skin is always oily, which leads to being very red. When I turned 20, I went to my breaking point.
Avatar n tn I hope you took the advice from the last post and went to a dermatologist. I have extremely sensitive skin too, and over the counter remedies are made for strong oily skin. There are lots of things you can try. Dalacin and differin are two lotions available on prescription which don't irritate. There are many oral antibiotic treatments such as oxytretracycline. If you are on the progesterone only pill come off it as it makes acne worse, and switch to an anti-androgen pill like dianette.
Avatar n tn Wish I could be more helpful but skin issues can get very complicated and as you know frustrating. Hope your new regimen works out.
Avatar f tn I'm twenty-five and I'm still struggling with acne. The problem is that my skin is also dry but when I use moisturizer I break out even worse. Does anyone have any treatment suggestions? Also, I understand it's normal to continue to break out even as an adult but I thought that didn't happen unless you were menstruating or pregnant. Anyone know more than me?
Avatar n tn I have had dry, swollen, cracked, peeling skin on my eyelids which has become progressively worse over 7 years. Have been prescribed cortisone but only is an overnight cure. Is this exceme? or psoriasis? or allergies? How can I get over this??? HELP!!!

Avatar m tn I posted this info before, but it was a reply to someone else's similar post... I am a 23 year old healthy male. I recently had a full physical and the results were that I am in above average health. I have no diseases, do not use drugs, but drink on occasion. Anyways, just started noticing these strange symptoms, within the past few weeks. Nothing "brought it on" so to speak that I can tell of.
Avatar m tn The benzoyl peroxide effectively kills bacteria and the Aveeno cleans and moisturizes the skin and dosen't leave it oily or with a residue of any kind. It dosen't clog pores either. It actually calms and moisturizes the skin which is good considering i use a lot of benzoyl peroxide.
189119 tn?1210170370 Try and stay away from anything with fragrance. I used big tubs of Aquafore although it makes your skin so oily. Just know that slowly, very slowly upon completing the vertex portion of the combo, your skin will return to a bearable stage. it's still pretty awful and I'm dreading spring coming cuz these arms and legs aren't gonna be exposed to the light of day, but MUCH better than when I was on the vertex. I got a prescription from my derm which had to be compounded.
Avatar f tn Bronner's Tea Tree liquid soap (one with the orange label) as it contains antimocrobial essential oils (does not clog pores or leave skin oily). Avoiding sugar & antibiotics was also key for me. I hope this helps!
Avatar n tn I started noticing what had always been relatively oily skin drying out — permanently — within two weeks of finishing the drug and within a year I had gone from having very youthful skin to extremely dry, loose skin everywhere: face, neck, elbows, hands, knees, eyelids, you name it. Awful. Vein and joint damage too. I remain interested in knowing whether anyone else reporting skin problems here was prescribed a quinolone within the year or so before they surfaced.
Avatar n tn As for the cream, that is kind of strong to be using in such a delicate area and it really won't do much good for lightening the skin in that area since it works on the epidermis layer of skin not the dermis. What you are describing is normal coloring as most women have dark skin in the pubic/genital area. The bump could be an ingrown hair or cyst. Again, check with your GYN doctor to be safe.
Avatar n tn I have extremely sensetive skin myself and had to resort to baby lotion and shampoos to keep me from overdrying my skin. Many lotions make the skin oily rather than truly moisturize. Cetaphil is a good lotion, but I use Aveeno baby lotion. It seems to do the trick. What soaps do you use? Dial AB or Dove, ?? ?
Avatar n tn My favorite ranges for oily skin are Effaclar by La Roche-Posay and Sparkling Clean by Estee Lauder. However, over the counter products may not result in total skin clearance. It is always best to see your doctor for a course of oral antibiotics and/or a topical retinoid.
Avatar f tn I have fair skin that I would classify as not very oily..I STILL BREAKOUT! Please tell me what i am doing wrong...
Avatar n tn I was put on Yaz a year ago, and within the first month of taking it I went from having the very oily skin I had always been used to, to suddenly very very dry and flaky skin. My skin is so dry that I have to carry around a bottle of lotion in my purse and a mirror. It is really horrible, I will do my daily regimen each day of applying massive amounts of lotion after ex foliating and intensely scrubbing away my dry dead skin, and after a few hours my skin is flaking like nuts.
