Oily skin men

Common Questions and Answers about Oily skin men

Avatar f tn After doing some research, I believe it is an over production and build up of sebum on the scalp. I have had acne problems, have rosacea, and my skin and hair is very oily. I found balancing shampoos on line that are supposed to prevent sebum build up. Aveda is one of them, but I haven't tried it. Sebum: substance with an oily consistency produced by the sebaceous glands. It lubricates hair, is an antifungal/antibacterial, and imparts waterproofing properties to the skin.
Avatar n tn I've been looking around for skin care information for men online and found and interesting site www.cosmetics-hair.
Avatar n tn I have a oily feel to the head of my penis but I am circumcised. Could this still be smegma that I have read about? It has an odor to it and I've been washing it extra carefully the last few days and the smell seems to come back in a day or 2. I was treated for a bacterial infection (NGU) about a month ago but it went away after duel treatment. Everything else looks normal but this is weird. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn I sometimes moisturize the rest of my face, except my forehead when it feels dry. The oiliness is decreasing, I don't wake up with oily shiny skin. However, the bumps/clogged pores on my forehead and post acne marks (hyperpigmentation) aren't really improving. I've been using cleansers/exfoliants with salycylic acid for around 3 weeks now because I researched that it's great for men's tough and thick skin.
Avatar n tn Hello, There is no medical condition as such which causes oiliness of the hair. I would suggest your husband to clean your hair frequently with a mild shampoo(you can use the ones for oily hair) and don’t apply any conditioner on the hair. Also he can shampoo twice during each wash and apply shampoo on the scalp without piling the hair on top.
16153473 tn?1445713432 My skin is so much oily. It's so frustrate me. I'm 26 old men. My face color is black-white. What product should i use ? Please help me to get rid from it.
Avatar f tn I have never had any problems with oily skin or oily hair ever. I wash my hair daily and condition. I have not changed my daily regimen in 2 years One thing I have tried was applied Shower to Shower powder to my hair before going to bed and washed out in the morning (not the sexiest looking thing at night but it helps). It drastically reduced the oil, but came back 2 days later. The only thing I worry about is clogging the glands that are producing the oil, so I don't do it daily...
Avatar n tn The only thing that seemd to help the redness was steroids in a cream, but I was informed by my doctor that long term steroid use isn't good for the skin. I have read about Vitamin B5 to reduce oily skin, but not sure what that would help. I want to solve my problem from the source, and I know it has to be all connected in some way.
Avatar m tn i an a man. my skin is very sensitive skin. very dry and red t zone and very oily forhead and dry cheeks. what do you recommend?
Avatar n tn I've read a lot about Seborrheic Dermatitis on the internet, however it mentions oily skin is the cause...my skin doesn't feel/appear oily to me, but all the places I have the flaky skin seem to be places where SD is described. I usually get acne on my forehead and face in the warm summer months when I sweat and skin seems more oily, however now I don't have any acne on my face at all. Could I have developed dry facial skin for the first time at 26 years of age??
Avatar f tn 3) Since some months ago every time Im gonna get my period my skin gets dried in 3 patches 2 on each side of the mouth and one on my cheek sometimes I only get one, and I have very oily skin. Is that a sign of something wrong? or just hormonal changes? IM scared and I just want to be more calm when I go to my appointment to the OBGyn.
Avatar n tn I am 43 and have washed my hair daily for as long I can remember. I have oily skin and hair but never been a problem. Last week I washed my hair as normal, dried it and noticed that my crown looked really greasy and my hair around the crown extremely dull. I presumed I hadnt washed my conditioner out properly but same happened next day.
Avatar n tn But for some reason, it is not working anymore. I have crazy skin, even though it is oily, it is still senstive,so I can't use anything harse. I have tried Oil of Olay, shea butter soap, vaseline at night, oil free moisterisuer, heavy moisteriser at night, etc. Nothing seems to help. I do drink water constantly. HELP. Thanks. contact me at patterson_e***@**** followup!
Avatar m tn if i scratch it, it turns crimson red in the area... My skin was baby like, but its just so dry and oily and looks like it has been through hell. It looks like I have the skin of a 40 year old. My body feels sticky and sweats alot more. My feet sweat when I sleep. When I come out of the shower, even as I type now after a shower, my scrotum is always sticky same with my pits and behind my knees and the skin on my butt. It really really bothers me. One more thing.
Avatar f tn He said that if we have to have him come back a third time, he would bring his supervisor to try to determine the problem and suggested that the problem might be skin mites. We have cleaned our house with bleach and wash our clothes with Borax and vacuum on a regular basis but this problem still persists. My husband said that he feels something jumping on him every once in a while, but nothing like what I have been experiencing, and my daughter says that she feels nothing.
Avatar m tn I posted this info before, but it was a reply to someone else's similar post... I am a 23 year old healthy male. I recently had a full physical and the results were that I am in above average health. I have no diseases, do not use drugs, but drink on occasion. Anyways, just started noticing these strange symptoms, within the past few weeks. Nothing "brought it on" so to speak that I can tell of.
Avatar n tn I'm not sure I have acne now, but I'm a fifty-five year old woman with a skin problem that keeps me from engaging in nearly all social activities. My skin has always been oily and acne prone/extremely sensitive to plant contact, with large blistering and inflammation. For acne, antibiotics worked well, for six months, then acne returns. At about age 45 I began to develop deep painful cysts that cortisone injections had no effect on.
1323747 tn?1364810482 I have had a tendency toward dry skin all my adult life and have a variety of creams I use. Lately though, and I think this is the autonomic dysfunction, my eyes have been burning and the over the counter drops I used many times a day just did not work well enough. In addition my nose has become dry and my mouth and throat. It was suggested by a speech pathologist that I have ice chips throughout the day and drink plenty of fluids.
Avatar n tn As for the cream, that is kind of strong to be using in such a delicate area and it really won't do much good for lightening the skin in that area since it works on the epidermis layer of skin not the dermis. What you are describing is normal coloring as most women have dark skin in the pubic/genital area. The bump could be an ingrown hair or cyst. Again, check with your GYN doctor to be safe.
Avatar n tn I started noticing what had always been relatively oily skin drying out — permanently — within two weeks of finishing the drug and within a year I had gone from having very youthful skin to extremely dry, loose skin everywhere: face, neck, elbows, hands, knees, eyelids, you name it. Awful. Vein and joint damage too. I remain interested in knowing whether anyone else reporting skin problems here was prescribed a quinolone within the year or so before they surfaced.
Avatar f tn Bronner's Tea Tree liquid soap (one with the orange label) as it contains antimocrobial essential oils (does not clog pores or leave skin oily). Avoiding sugar & antibiotics was also key for me. I hope this helps!
Avatar n tn I have extremely sensetive skin myself and had to resort to baby lotion and shampoos to keep me from overdrying my skin. Many lotions make the skin oily rather than truly moisturize. Cetaphil is a good lotion, but I use Aveeno baby lotion. It seems to do the trick. What soaps do you use? Dial AB or Dove, ?? ?
Avatar m tn Seeing a professional again some time this week. Update to follow. I have a series of questions to ask them. I have been offered an appointment with a dermatologist but I will ealing this until 6 months have past. I don't feel they can offer me anything extra atm.
Avatar m tn Hi. Use a good cleanser for oily skin followed by an exfoliator to remove dead skin cells. I use Estee Lauder's Sparkling Clean Cleanser. Some of my male friends use this too but if you think the packaging is a bit feminine, check out Clinique's range of skincare products for men. Eloise.
Avatar m tn I am 31 years old men and I have a brown color and mixed skin type (oily and dry ) but mostly in winter I have a dry skin. And I am having Melasma on my both side of eyes and above cheek since last 1 and half year. And its look very ugly that it even make feel shame to go outside with my friend sometimes. So. please help me to get rid of this problem.
Avatar f tn So that combined with the dry skin inside the ear lobe made me think sd just very mild. His skin isn't oily either and he does have mild eczema at times. I have dry skin and had alot of acne as a teenager.
Avatar f tn Yves Rocher makes products for women and men with sensitive skin and they are terrific. They also sell skin moisturizers, toners for sensitive skin. Their prices are very reasonable and they have really good sales. I have bought a lot of their products over the years and as I mentioned they have excellent products for sensitive skin. I would goggle Yves Rocher if you are interested. I hope you find my suggestions helpful.
4345818 tn?1353150812 I always wash my face after school and even used toner to totally remove dirt. But then again, pimples still persist. My skin type is combination of oily and dry. I noticed that my face becomes oily 1 to 2 hrs after washing that is why I conclude that my skin type is oily and dry. I try to drink plenty of water everyday. I also love to eat fruits but not everyday. I avoid eating oily food because I believe it would exacerbate the oiliness of my face.
Avatar n tn They are normal glands and cannot be removed. They produce tiny amounts of oily secretions that keeps the skin healthy. If a man has a circumcision, it obviously dries out the head of the penis and these gland areas, and they often become extremely difficult to find. Both males and females produce smegma. In males smegma is produced and accumulates under the foreskin of uncircumcised individuals; in females it collects around the clitoris and in the folds of the labia minora.
