Oily skin during pregnancy

Common Questions and Answers about Oily skin during pregnancy

Avatar f tn Hey girls! Im 38w1d and this morning i woke up and my face is extremely oily :( its not normal for me considering most of the time i am battling dry skin! Is this any sign of labor or maybe just my hormones?
Avatar f tn I am now 11w5d and have an oily skin...but from last few weeks....I am severely prone to acne...pls suggest some home remedies...as my skin is very sensitive.
Avatar f tn After doing some research, I believe it is an over production and build up of sebum on the scalp. I have had acne problems, have rosacea, and my skin and hair is very oily. I found balancing shampoos on line that are supposed to prevent sebum build up. Aveda is one of them, but I haven't tried it. Sebum: substance with an oily consistency produced by the sebaceous glands. It lubricates hair, is an antifungal/antibacterial, and imparts waterproofing properties to the skin.
903040 tn?1285814547 Can anyone PLEASE recommend acne products that are safe to use during pregnancy. I had mild acne prior to becoming pregnant but it has esculated to an uncontrollable level now. PLEASE HELP.
Avatar m tn I have dealt with acne, oily skin, and cheesy smell on my chin during my teenage years and most of my adult life. When the liver is not functioning properly, toxins are excreted through the skin. With poor digestion, the issues get amplified. The cure - a liver cleanse, specifically Dr. Hulda Clark's Liver cleanse. A coffee enema is effective too but that's a bit invasive for most people. The liver cleanse pills are not as effective and take much longer to see any results.
Avatar f tn I have never had any problems with oily skin or oily hair ever. I wash my hair daily and condition. I have not changed my daily regimen in 2 years One thing I have tried was applied Shower to Shower powder to my hair before going to bed and washed out in the morning (not the sexiest looking thing at night but it helps). It drastically reduced the oil, but came back 2 days later. The only thing I worry about is clogging the glands that are producing the oil, so I don't do it daily...
Avatar f tn I have oily skin too. I use natural, sensitive skin soaps in the morning every day. Hemp based soaps are ideal. Pregnancy still gives me a few little ones here and there but otherwise my skin stays clear.

1343283 tn?1300901864 I used palmers coco butter a few times a day when I had my daughter. I would grease up so much! don't forget your breasts, hips & thighs. (not just the stomach) I am happy to say that I don't have a single streach mark from that pregnancy. However, I do have naturally oily skin, so maybe it is a bit more elastic. now I am 13 weeks & I'm just using regular coca butter. I started trying with the palmers, but couldnt stand the smell (doesn't smell bad....
Avatar f tn I used to have good skin, now its all shiny and oily and my pores are huge. Anyone else have skin changes during their pregnancy? If so, what did you do? I've been trying different makeup but nothing seems to help.
304970 tn?1331429594 I'm sorry you're having such a hard time w/acne. I suffered from severe acne from age 16-19 and it was really difficult. I still get bad breakouts at 25 and, now that I'm pregnant, things aren't any better! I can tell you a few tips that I used back in the day, and that I use now: - Always use a clean towel to pat (don't rub) your face dry after washing. I keep a stack of clean washcloths on the counter just for drying and use a new one every night. - Don't wash more than twice a day.
Avatar n tn I am a 29 female and have never had this happen before. I have oily skin/hair naturally, but nothing like this spot. I decided after reading several posts to try the Tea Tree Shampoo and Listerine combo...I used Amercian Crew Tea Tree Shampoo and 3 caps of genric Listernine. I left both in my hair for several minutes before washing out, and it worked 100%. The spots is gone...thank you everyone!!!
Avatar f tn Treating acne during pregnancy can be a little tricky. It is considered best to avoid chemical treatment at this stage. There are a couple of home remedies that you could follow. 1. Drink lots of water, keep you'd body hydrated and cool 2. Drink fresh tender coconut water if available 3. Apply lemon juice on your acne. It has been tried and tested. All the best on your pregnancy !
Avatar n tn Does the color of your urine change during pregnancy? Also, does your skin become oily?
Avatar f tn Mine is horrible, but I have figured out it gets worse if I use any face wash. So I just splash water and lightly scrub with a towel. I am 32 weeks and it flares up every once in a while, and should go away once all the hormones go back to normal after delivery.
9787569 tn?1416488772 My skin is breaking out terribly! I normally have oily skin but never really had a problem with acne. My normal skin routine is not preventing the breakouts. Any suggestions??
Avatar f tn So i was using proactive plus bedore i knew i was pregnant once i found out i stopped. My skin was looking really good now that its been a couple of months my skin is starting to get oily and ugh breakouts... has anybidy used it during pregnancy or any other acne treatment?
Avatar f tn Yeah.. every skin is different... I'm dry skin.. && i use neutrogenas pink grapfruit... then after I washe'd my face i will use sea breeze sensitive skin astringent with a cotton ball... put it all over my face && neck... then a face lotion because I'm dry skin.. but of your skin is oily i guess you can skip to moisturizer in the end.. (: good luck!
Avatar n tn I'm a 60 year old men, in excellent health, except for experiencing tremors during sleep that wake me up and have difficulty going back to sleep. As I start to fall sleep again, I feel these "rumbleling" (tremors) around my upper body. I immediately wake up again. These tremors last for about 10-15 seconds after I wake up. The first time I experienced this condition was exactly two years ago. It lasted for about four days and it simply went away.
Avatar f tn ( it's my little girl stealing my beauty as my doctor says! Lol. But yes, be EXTREMELY grateful you have no stretch marks. I'm getting ones everywhere :/ which is ridiculous cause I've actually LOST 15 lbs this pregnancy and I'm 29 weeks.
Avatar f tn If you were my patient, I would advise you that everybody is different when it comes to acne and pregnancy. For many women, their skin is clearer than ever when they are pregnant. For others acne appears for the first time. I don't recommend using Retin A type products while pregnant, but products that contain Clindamycin or Benzoyl Peroxide ARE OK> Good luck!
Avatar f tn Same here my face is horrible I am using nutrogena but its not working that great.
Avatar n tn I am 43 and have washed my hair daily for as long I can remember. I have oily skin and hair but never been a problem. Last week I washed my hair as normal, dried it and noticed that my crown looked really greasy and my hair around the crown extremely dull. I presumed I hadnt washed my conditioner out properly but same happened next day.
Avatar f tn has any one else had really greasy hair during pregnancy?? i can shampoo my hair twice a day (which ive never had to do before) and it still be oily...its driving me crazy....also I have noticed an increase of body odor....i have changed deodorants about 4 times this WEEK!! has any one else had these crazy symptoms?? i had no clue these were even related to pregnancy until I googled it. lol, please tell me this is somewhat ' normal ' in early pregnancy....
Avatar n tn The doc said it was still there so I was not worried. Well now I have horrible acne, oily hair/skin and have gained a ton of weight. I had to buy bigger jeans and now they are too tight too. I have not had my period since I got it. But I am slightly worried I am pregnant. I have gained weight, my feet/ankles are swollen and have grown (I wear an 8 1/2 shoe and have for several years.
1481901 tn?1287730844 I'm sorry you didn't like my answer or find it helpful. You asked for suggestions on what you can use on your skin during pregnancy & I listed what I found to actually work during this time. I only included prices because I hated it when someone would suggest something to me that was over $100.00 & hard to find. once again, sorry my answer didn't give you any idea & left you with more questions. I simply made a list of stuff I found out was safe to use.
Avatar n tn hey, i know how you feel. they do say that if you feel like your looks fade during pregnancy it is cause you are having a girl and she is stealing all your beauty....don't know how true it is but makes you wonder huh? lol! do you know what you are having yet? just curoius. good luck and don't worry your beauty will return!
Avatar n tn Don't know what is wrong, but do know that benedryl is safe to take during pregnancy. With my first I had hives at the end of my 2nd trimester and took it then. It will make you sleepy but will take away the itch. Someone should see you before monday? It is only Wednesday.
Avatar m tn I posted this info before, but it was a reply to someone else's similar post... I am a 23 year old healthy male. I recently had a full physical and the results were that I am in above average health. I have no diseases, do not use drugs, but drink on occasion. Anyways, just started noticing these strange symptoms, within the past few weeks. Nothing "brought it on" so to speak that I can tell of.
Avatar f tn (like maybe 2 drinks a day) Also, I have very oily skin and have always used a scrub with salacylic acid and then read that it wasn't safe; is that true? And if so, what do people with oily skin use? does anybody know about bacon? Is it okay if eaten once or twice a week? Can I use a fleets enema if I'm really really constipated? I know these are things I can ask my doctor, but my first ob appt. isn't until the 31st.
