Avatar m tn Hello, I'm a 33 year old man, who has suffered from oily skin on my face since my teen years. I've tried many different cleansers. None of which seem to help. The more harsh cleansers obviously irritate my skin causing more redness and oil production. And the gentle cleansers such as cetaphil don't seem to improve anything. I was prescribed Atralin gel a few months ago. But this does not seem to improve my oil production.
Avatar m tn Hello, In oily skin, the oil producing sebaceous glands are overactive and produce more oil than is needed. The oil oozes and gives the skin a greasy shine. It can be caused by heredity, diet, hormone levels, pregnancy, birth control pills and hot and humid weather. Oily skin needs special cleansing with plenty of hot water and soap to prevent the pores from being clogged. Avoid harsh products that strip your skin of oil and encourage flakiness.

Avatar f tn i am black in complection, i need a help on the best skin care for my skin. thanks.
Avatar m tn ‘Oily skin care’ is also dependent on the degree of oiliness, if you aren’t too oily, so some of these ‘suitable for all’- type of products might be work for you too. For extremely oily skin, only oily skin care products are suitable. Your oily skin care routine can include an alcohol based toner (for an extremely oily skin). This can be the second step in your oily skin care routine i.e. just after cleansing. However, excessive toning can harm your skin.

Avatar n tn My daughter is active in sports and is 16 years old. She has very oily skin and is experiencing frequent acne breakouts along with blackheads especially in the t-zone on her face. What do you recommend for treatment? We've tried Proactive and it seemed to make her acne worse. She also has sensitive skin.
926790 tn?1244063910 ) Ever since I could remember, I've had an issue with oily skin. More so in my face, then anywhere else. If I take a shower on Friday, my face will start to oil up the next day, or maybe if I'm lucky; Sunday. This issue leaves my face with a glossy look, and is disgusting to the touch, for lack of a better term. I've tried many facial exfoliates. Nothing. I still have the same results as if I never used a product to begin with. I've gotten past my acne stage.
Avatar n tn iv used many products to try to get rid of my oily skin but nothing works. after washing my skin it gets very oily, mainly on my nose within the hour. i want to know what kind of face wash i could use to solve my problem. im not looking for somehting expensive or that i have ot order online. im tired of always having ot use those oil absorbing sheets.
Avatar n tn Hi I typically have oily skin although it gets dry when i use harsh cleansers/the weather is cold. Now that it is getting hotter my skin is getting more oily, i was wondering is it still necessary to use a moisturizer in humid weather?
Avatar m tn Hello, You are having a good skin regimen and until and unless you have severe acne, there is no need of using any medicated products. Oily skin needs special cleansing with plenty of hot water and soap to prevent the pores from being clogged. Avoid harsh products that strip your skin of oil and encourage flakiness. Avoid skincare products that leave your skin feeling taut and dehydrated. You can use cetaphil and make sure that the rest of the times you wash your face with fresh water.
Avatar m tn what can i do about oily dandruff? all the things available in the market seem to be for dry dandruff. what products should i be using? any changes in my diet or lifestyle u could recommend?
Avatar m tn I have been struggling with oily skin since I started middle school. Since I have gotten older my skin has gotten worse with the oil. even after i was my face i can see the oil surfacing from the pores on my nose. I really hate having to go places and people asking me why my nose is so shiny. Is there any face washes or makeup brands that help cover, eliminate or even benefit oily skin?? PLEASE HELP !!!
Avatar n tn Murad products are quite harsh so your skin must be strong and oily, meaning you are unlikely to suffer sensitivity from using a new skin care regime. Clinique make a good range for blemish prone skin including cleanser, soap, chest and back spray, treatment gel and post blemish formula. Have you thought about asking your doctor for oral acne medication to use in addition to your topical regime?
Avatar n tn Hi, Removal of chicken pox scar depends on several factors such as the depth of the scar, body response and the length of the scar present. The usual recommendation is to moisturize with vitamin E rich creams and procedures such as microdermabrasion or laser treatment. There are many products in the web that claim to be effective in removing scars and keloids. However, before making a decision to use any product, make sure that they are all natural and are registered with the FDA.
1067761 tn?1255068757 Im 16 and I have extremely oily skin, the pores on my face are huge, and breakouts occur regularly on my face. I've tried many skincare routines to combat the oilyness but I am constantly frustrated because many of the products I use do not give me the results that I want. I know that my skin's oilyness is caused by an excessive production of sebum and I have heard that the pill can help to regulate my skin and stop it from being as oily, is this true?
Avatar n tn Most skin care products for oily skin have a lot of alcohol in them, specifically SD40 alcohol, which strips the acid mantle from the skin and is very drying which often kicks the sebaceous glands into overdrive so they produce even more oil. You need products which will hydrate the skin without using oils (especially mineral oil) and that don't contain harsh alcohols. I have found products that is fabulous for oily skin.
Avatar n tn My acne is very mild but it isn't improving with my current skin care routine. My problem is that while my skin is acne-prone and oily, it's also very sensitive and therefore gets red really easily. I'm also on birth control and it hasn't helped clear anything. I really would like to just get rid of my current acne without irritating my skin and getting all red. Over the counter products don't clear my skin, they only keep it under control. I used ProActive and it was too strong for me. Help!
Avatar n tn I am 51 years old and have always had excessive oily, acne prone skin. I've been to many dermatologists and doctors and have tried so many things, but nothing works. Please help me. I feel so ugly and dirty with the amount of oil and break-outs on my face at my age. I can live with the acne, but it's the oily skin that I would give anything to find a control for. Thanks for your help.
Avatar f tn I would try Paula's Choice skin care products. There is an 800 customer service number which is usually answered on the 1st ring by a very knowledgeable person. Customer service will either help you over the phone with selecting products or you can find them online and then call with questions. My sister and I have been with Paula's Choice for several decades and recommend this company, the products and the employees very highly. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I have pretty sensitive skin, and I found a few skin care lines that I like- Proactive is one (but that's more for if you are dealing with Acne) and Rodan Fields is pretty good too. They have a line called Soothe that might help with your skin condition. I believe you should just be able to Google either one of those products and find a web site to order them from- if you wanted to give them at try. Other wise, I'd try skipping the exfoliation step to see if that helps.
Avatar n tn For my face I use the special cleansing gel which is very gentle and the Active Moist moisturizer ( it keeps your skin hydrated but is oil-free for acne prone skin) If you are looking for something inexpensive Aveeno has products for sensitive skin, you can also try Purpose skin care products or Cetaphil products. Both of these are dermatologist recommended and hypo-allergenic. Whatever you try, make sure it is fragrance and oil free ( most products for sensitive skin are).
1689131 tn?1305761867 So, I have a really bad skin. My skin is all oily, mostly in the nose. I have blackheads all over, but it's mostly in the nose. Whenever I wash it with a cleanser, after like 2 hours, it gets all oily again. I'm really embarrassed about it, that I don't like looking at people in the eyes because all they do is look at my nasty stuff...please, help me. This is really making my life awful!!! I have pimples too. Is there anything I can do for all this stupid skin in my face??? Thanks a lot.
Avatar m tn It can be caused by heredity, diet, hormone levels, pregnancy, birth control pills and hot and humid weather. Oily skin needs special cleansing with plenty of hot water and soap to prevent the pores from being clogged. Avoid harsh products that strip your skin of oil and encourage flakiness. They can cause a reaction known as reactive seborrhoea, where the oil glands work overtime to compensate for the loss of natural oils.
Avatar n tn Eating oil doesn't make your skin oily. I don't know what's in Zenmed, but I can't think of any ingredients that would cause your palms to peel. I recommend that you see a dermatologist. There isn't any good way to make oil go away, but you can minimize the breakouts easily in most cases. Meantime, I suggest that you avoid any potentially irritating products. Take care. Dr.
Avatar n tn My skin was either too oily or overly dry, so I kept drying out my skin with different anti-acne products and ending up with oily skind and break-outs all the time, despite moisturising. I always envied those friends who seemed to have flawless skin, while I kept breaking out like a teenager... Despite having been on birt-control for several years I kept having break-outs. I tried and endless amount of different products, cheap and expensive ones, anti-acne treatment and so on.
Avatar f tn Estee Lauder's Sparkling clean cleanser. I also use a topical retinoid called Differin (adapalene 0.1%). This product did not work for me before Accutane, but is now effective. Eloise.
