Avatar n tn My hair, which is usually normal and healthy, has become oily and full of dandruff within the past 24 hours! My hair became very oily with my daughter for the first few weeks, but I did not have dandruff. Has anyone else had this problem? Any shampoo suggestions that can take care of both of these problems?
Avatar n tn i dont know if its dandruff or wat, but it doesnt come in flakey form. it comes in tiny hair forms. they are white dust like particles which are in my hair and they never run out. what may the cause be and what should i do to stop it? i used to wash my hair every day/twice a day if i play ball. for the last 3 days ive tried shampooing every other day, but i do still wash my hair with water. but no good, there are still a massive amount of dust in my hair. What sort of illness is this?

Everytime I run my fingers through my hand i can see flakes falling down. I plan on shaving my head and start applying some cream. Can you recommend any medicine or any remedies. I would really appreciate some help. thank you, max.
Avatar m tn -around 15 I started getting bad dandruff. My scalp would become very greasy and scaly. I still get dandruff and my hair is very oily (just like my face.. oily + dry) -around this young age I also used to get patches of itchy red skin on my face some times... almost looked like sun burn -I also used to get flaky yellowish patches of skin on my face -The inside of my ears and directly behind them are usually dry -Currently I don't usually get any red patches on my face..
Avatar f tn Hello, This can be due to dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis. Dandruff can cause either an overly dry scalp with itchy white flakes that may be waxy or greasy, or it can manifest as an oily scalp with scales. Eat a healthy diet. You can also take vit B6 and vit A and E which are good for hair and skin. Try medicated shampoos for dandruff. There are a number of over-the-counter shampoos available that can help.
Avatar f tn If the skin is oily, rinsing in vinegar water can help. The shampoo that might work is Nystatin shampoo, but try neem first.

Avatar n tn I find that im alot more agitated ( stretching feet, uncomfortable in skin etc ). I also tend fo get really nervous around people when my face is oily. When i wash it i feel more refreshed and im more comfortable. Does this make anysense to anyone out there? If so what would u suggest? Any special cream to permanently remove the oilyness for ever? or take medication?
Avatar f tn I really wish i knew what was wrong with my scalp - ill accept anything as long as it isnt lice - perhaps the treatment just wont work? My scalp feels more dry than oily and the dandruff flakes are small and white and do remove from my head when i scratch - reassuring me they arent lice eggs.
Avatar f tn Hi, wondering if anyone has an answer for me. I used to get dandruff on and off and I used head & shoulders or others like it and it worked fine. This winter, however, my scalp has gotten extremly dry and itchy and flaky, and sore from all the scratching. I tried a bunch of more heavy duty OTC shampoos for dandruff, but none worked. I used an essential oils scalp massage and that worked for a bit. Now it is out of control and driving me crazy.
876805 tn?1240185863 This could be due to seborrheic dermatitis, which is a common, inflammatory skin condition that causes flaky, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas such as the scalp or inside the ear. It appears to run in families and may be associated with stress, fatigue, weather extremes, oily skin, infrequent shampoos or skin cleaning, skin disorders or obesity. The diagnosis is based on the appearance and location of the skin lesions.
Avatar f tn m going off of what I vaguely remember lol. There are 3 causes for dandruff dry scalp, oily scalp, and a fungus. The condition of your scalp is what is going to tell u which treatment to use. One remedy is ad easy as shampooing everyday and using less conditioner on your scalp. You should also try using a clarifying shampoo and a moisturizing conditioner.
Avatar f tn Also when I give me scalp a good scratch I get white stuff under my nails. It looks like powder almost but it rubs into skin and is somewhat oily. I have tried looking it up with no luck. What is this?
Avatar n tn ve been using very hot water in the shower.......so my scalp has been a bit dryer than normal. Especially near the front by the hairline, its got a white flaky look to my scalp and I've also noticed a very pink look to the skin around the area which also has been flaky......... What's happening to me and what should I do? I tried tea tree oil on the flaky skin, but I don't think its helping much...... Will switching to a Selsun blue or dandruff shampoo help?
2078979 tn?1332206668 t have dandruff but I have always had a sensitive scalp and too many scents in a shampoo male my scalp break.put in sores and these both always work for.me. They keep.my scalp well conditioned and make my hair smooth and shiny too.
Avatar n tn ive had these weird rashes or pimples on my hairline in the upper forehead extending a little bit into my scalp, they kinda look like pimples but they're a little bit lighter in color.. and it kinda produces dandruff like stuff..
1641357 tn?1470495393 I'm almost positive that I have eczema on my face. It's itchy, dry, red, scaly patches on my face mostly cheeks and forehead, but also around the edges of my mouth and sideburn areas. Along my hairline and my head. I've always had a problem with dandruff and i'm thinking it's moreso eczema now than dandruff. While I was pregnant it all went away (which i LOVED!) but now it's back and my face is super red and hurts and I can't stop scratching it!
Avatar n tn I have someone with red blotches on his face starting from his hairline down the side of his face to his chin. Whenever he is in the sun, these spots get brighter and they itch. The spots are not scaly. Whenever he applies a dandruff shampoo to it, it eases and goes away. He has been told that it is the dandruff that has run down to his face.Others say that it is his high alcohol consumption which is in correlation to some liver disorder. The spots tend to look like ring worm but not exactly.
