After having unprotected sex the head of my penis got itchy in the inside of the hole and had a very little amount of discharge. I searched the net to find the answer and the closest to my symptom is urethritis. Upon reading through the forums related to STDs, found out that some folks were prescribed with ofloxacin. Without consulting a doctor, I am self medicating now after googling what's ofloxacin is for. 3 days ago I took 2 400mg and subsequently 200mg every 12 hours.

Tosufloxacin is supposed to have more efficacy and a broader spectrum of action in infections. This should be more effective than ofloxacin in the treatment of prostatitis. However, some organisms like chlamydia are only weakly sensitive to this class of drugs and will need specific testing to identify the right antibiotic.
You may need to have another urinalysis done, preferably from a sample collected just after ejaculation. A prostate fluid analysis can also be done.
On 3/21/07 she had stomach flu,5/24/07 she woke up with a bloody looking eye it's ALWAYS on the same eye (right)on the inner part of the sclera & it never spreads to the other eye,she always says it hurts & it swells up a little. Her pediatrician thought it was conjuvitis & rx Ofloxacin .3% it cleared up in 3 days.
I am currently taking ofloxacin (local meds) 400 mg 3x a day for 5 days for my uti. Will it also cure any possible std(gonorrhea/chlamydia) if i have one?
If all of this has to do with the Ofloxacin, is the dermatological response still to treat the symptoms of the rash with the Doxycycline, or is there a medical way to counter all of these effects (if due to some sort of Ofloxacin reaction or build up of yeast in the body)? 5 yrs started complaining of stomach pain and diarrhea four days back when the doctor prescribed ofloxacin and metronidazole suspension which had some effect in the first two days but worsened later.
Subsequently we got his stool examined which tested positive with RBCs, mucous, pus cells and tiny specs of blood. The docter then gave ofloxacin and ornidazole suspension.

This eased the pain, however a few weeks later I had pain in my right epididymis that shot up towards my lower abdomen.
I checkeed with thedoctor with test report of urinalysis and blood CBC. In Urine,they found WBC of 33 and no bacteria..Gave me ofloxacin for 1more week.
I checked with a dermatologist and they said there was no rash or red spots in the penis

I'm a 40 year-old American living in Thailand. A few months ago I had unprotected sex with a female coworker. About 10-12 days later I noticed a burning sensation in the tip of my penis (it felt similar to when soap gets in the urethra). The burning intensified over the next few days. It does not hurt when I urinate and no need to urinate more than normal. There is no discharge - just a slight whitish mucous visible only if I squeeze the tip. Co-worker has no symptoms.

Hi. I am a male in my thirties and have been struggling with an inflamed urethra for 10 weeks. I am a long term heterosexual relationship and the symptoms seemed to come out of the blue. The only definite symptom is a red and inflamed tip of my penis which has been constant for the 10 weeks and I have tested negative for clamydia, gonnerhea, a uti and nsu as well as positive for a uti and nsu over the 10 weeks.
then 2 years later i had a smilar sexual contact, after years of only sex with my wife, and it started again, the same way, only i was in a different city and my urologist, after negative urine screens for chlamydia and gonnorhea tried a brief course of antibiotics (ofloxacin) and said i just need to live with it as it is not worth trying to treat it.
I had a encounter in 2010 with a CSW but with condom.Dont know wether it burst or what.But had symptoms the next day.I had got tested for hiv HSV 1& 2 and VDRL.All came negative.Doctor then put me at dose of doxyciline 100mg twice a day for 7 days.Then another doctor gave a dose of 800 mg of ofloxacin for 7 days.After these medicines can chlamydia and gonorrhea still exist?
