Common Questions and Answers about Office safety lifting

safety

Avatar f tn Most of the time when you miscarry its not cuz of anything you do, the primary cause is genetic malformations that aren't conducive to life. Heavy lifting won't cause a miscarriage but as you get bigger it can cause back problems. Other things that can cause a miscarriage are accidents/ trauma or severe acute infection... You do need to watch what you eat though.
Avatar f tn m currently 31 weeks pregnant and although she can avoid it she has me lifting bins of books (atleast 15). I know we are short staff but have a heart or get a accident report written on you....
Avatar f tn Look up your pregnancy health and safety leglislation for your country. In ireland if you work in a job where there is a health and safety issue e.g heavy lifting and where the job can not accomadate u in another suitable line of work, well then u are entitled to go on pregnancy related illness leave and your employer must pay u in full for this. They are under no obligation to pay u for maternity leave though.thats up to the employers discretion.
Avatar n tn My question is, is it ok to be doing the heavy lifting, going up and down ladders all day. Power tools and all... ??
Avatar f tn So im doing a lot of climbing up and down on chairs and counters and stairs and stools lol. Also, heavy lifting, running around, and working with harsher chemicals. Then I go home and clean. Needless to say, im a little worried. But I don't want to bring my baby girl into this world without being able to give her the life she deserves.

Avatar f tn It's nearly 8 weeks since my Op, I had laparotomy (bikini line) They told me to not lift a kettle till 6 weeks, but I'm not allowed to go gym or lift heavy stuff till 3 months. Does anyone know the guidelines to lifting? As I'm a dental nurse and I have a very run about lift stuff job. So I don't want to push my self too much. Before op I used to carry 25kg boxes (previous job) but being told I can't lift heavy stuff I'm not sure where the line is.
Avatar f tn If you've been exercising prior to pregnancy, then it's completely safe - so I was told by my doctor, and I didn't have any problems, even in the first trimester. My GP just advised me to stop lifting weights.

1255151 tn?1413891826 My Drs office just called and said the baby is perfect but I do have partial placenta previa. They told me absolutely no intercouse (which i had this morning...) and no strenuous activities. My question is has anyone else ever had this and it go away? I am having another ultrasound in 2 weeks to monitor it. Also what would you consider strenuous activity to be???
Avatar f tn m just trying to get out of working or go in disability which I want neither. Like honestly it blew my mind how she thought a pregnant woman would be comfortable lifting up to 50lbs . What restrictions did your doctor give you mamas?
Avatar m tn I have a fragmented disc that has been inflamed due to heavy lifting. No pain in lower back, but quite severe pain along rear of right leg radiating into right foot. Doctor has me on naproxen 375 mg every twelve hours. Do you think this will help and do you think the frag will resorb? It has been 4 weeks and very little relief so far. I am trying to avoid surgery. Do you think I should be exercising, such as walking, etc.? Thank you. John .
Avatar n tn The risk is the possibility of rupture so controlled blood pressure is a major factor as well as avoid heavy lifting. Another factor is how fast is the diameter increasing is size. The 126 systole could be lower for a better safety reliance.
Avatar n tn help I'm at work and I'm a cna and I think I just did something wrong lifting afterwards I noticed some blood very lite and it scared me just like when oil had pap smear help
Avatar n tn Hello and congratulations :) If it's been 3 weeks, it should be ok. I was advised to wait about 3 weeks after my c-section to avoid lifting anything heavier than the baby. I'd also consult with your doctor or doctor's office just to make sure.
7763771 tn?1510501652 I am not really showing yet although it still gets sore and uncomfortable when im working- lots of bending down pushing and lifting ect. My position will be changed later on although its still pretty much the same line of work. I am just wondering how many other soon to be mums are working in a demanding field and when you would suggest to put in for leave? I would like to stay in work til I pop although I genuinely dont think its going to be possible. Sorry for the huge story.
