however, recently, I have been itchy and uncomfortable with some abnormal vaginal discharge. I literally scooped out an excessive amount of clumpy cottage cheese-like discharge, which freaked me out. There was a lot! It was not odorous. It just looked strange to me. Sorry to be so graphic but I'm trying to figure out if anyone else has experienced this? I've had yeast infections before and it doesn't exactly feel like one. However, the discharge looks pretty similar.
Either you have an infection causing an odorous discharge or you must clean yourself more often. In pregnancy you have leukorrhea which is a mucousy discharge that is odorless; however, if you do not maintain good hygiene, this too can be odorous as well. I find that women who are obese have a problem with getting in between their folds and this can cause an odor as well. Hope this helps, not trying to offend you.
After having vaginal itching and an odorous discharge I went to my doctor. I had a pap done and the results came back that I had trichomonas. She prescribed 4 ea, 500 mg tablets of metronidazole to be taken all at once. I laundered all clothing, sheets, towels, etc in hot water to avoid recontamination. My husband also got treated and we have not had sex since before I was diagnosed. The symptoms went away but returned in about 3 weeks. I was again prescribed the antibiotic.
Last year, I had some abnormal bleeding, basically bleeding started out as every 2 weeks, then it got to the point where out of 1 month, I bled all but 4 days. I have painful intercourse, unusual discharge (not odorous but clear/white and sometimes pretty moderate in amount- I notice its more when I am ovulating), had 1 abnormal pap, which I was told was just the abnormal cells nothing to worry too much about.

A smelly vaginal discharge isn't normal. It sounds as though you have some sort of infection. I disagree with the nurse telling you to get Monistat...your OB needs to take a swab and test to make sure it is yeast and not something else. The good news is that at this point, baby is safe and protected so this infection probably wont affect him or her at all as long as it gets treated soon and is cleared up come time for him.her to be born.
I'm pretty sure I removed my tampon on my last day of my period (it was a very light day) but noe I'm starting to have a slight odorous discharge. I searched for the tampon, didnt find it but found lots of white substance. I want to treat it with over the counter meds, but what if it truly is a tampon still there?
An odorous discharge is often bacterial in nature. Is it a foul odor? That is definitely bacterial in nature. Watery, greyish (maybe brownish too, not sure) foul smelling discharge is often diagnosed as bacterial vaginosis. This requires antibiotics to treat after a doctors visit. Is there a clinic at your school you can go to? By the way, women get BV even without having sex although it can also be passed sexually. It loves a warm, moist anaerobic environment.

I am having some gynae issues (2nd episode - last was a year ago) - periods suddenly stopped out of the blue, bloating, pelvic pain, especially in the right ovary area and causing mild sciatica and feeling slightly nauseous and damp forehead. It is not due to any drugs you may have taken in the past. Your really need to get tested. Having cloudy, odorous urine is a serious condition that almost certainly needs treatment. Good luck.
As for a yeast infection, many people think an odorous discharge means yeast however when you have a yeast infection usually it will smell almost sweet. (If you've ever baked bread) it takes on a smell of actual yeast. Also the discharge is usually white or very pale yellowish in color and almost resemble cottage cheese. Any discharge that is quite yellow or even greenish in color is most likely a bacterial infection, not yeast.
This year I am having amazingly heavy periods, as well as a brownish discharge that starts right before my period begins, and this time I am noticing that I am having the discharge During the period as well. I have been living with a persistent odorous gas problem for about 8 months now. I have made several visits to my family doctor as well as a gastroenterologist with no help. I was diagnoseed with IBS and have tried a couple of prescriiption drugs for IBS as well as Devrom, Charcoal, Chlorophyllin, probiotics, fiber,herbal teas and others to no avail. I have had a colonoscopy & endoscopy-both were normal. I have also tried altering my diet.
I should also add that during the encounter with my wife before her issue developed - I had been rubbing my penis between her buttocks and against her anus before vaginal insertion. Could I have picked up some sort of bacteria this way? To date all of her symtops have cleared up except for the odorous urine.
