I have been on the Nuvaring for about 3 months now.. I took one out the 3rd week & inserted a new one after my period.. My bf & I always have unprotected sex because I was on the ring but last week I began to feel nauseous and extremely drowsy! I have also bled during intercourse and I have now been expecting my period but I haven't got it.. I took 2 pg tests both negative.. & this morning I was bleeding when I wiped.. The blood was dark brown & thick..

I'm concerned that inserting the ring will allow the virus access to the inside of my vagina. Currently the sores are all external. Gall bladder disease is quite common in females and it typically produces nausea and abdominal pain esp after eating. Eat small nutritious meals at frequent intervals instead of a heavy single meal. Exercise frequently and take your dinner atleast 2 hrs prior to bedtime. Also raise the head end of the bed by 2 blocks. To help control the stomach acid, one should not drink alcohol or drinks with caffeine in them, or eat chocolate or spicy or greasy foods .

Hi Lisa, OK have just done a little reaserch, and yes Nuvaring could be the reason for your ongoing cramps or cramping, if you google Nuvaring bad cramping 2 years, you will find your not the only one, and if you go down somebody is doing a survey on Nuvaring, so you can add to it if you fill that way. well with the nuvaring. I had a side effect to it. my stomach was bloated and I didn't know why so when I went back to the doctor I told him about it and that was a side effect from the nuvaring. I mean I was bloated so bad that it hurt. I was in constant pain. so I would go with a birth control pill..

YES! It can cause diabetes! It is listed as glucose intolerance in the side effects. I went though 8 months of #@!& on nuvaring. I went to the doc because I wad exhausted all of the time, fuzzy brained, and starting to loose my hair. When I asked if it could be the birth control, my question was dismissed. They tried to put me on all of this medication for slightly elevated blood sugar. I refused. I decided to go off the nuvaring, which I was on only for acne.

I am also allergic to latex and tried the NuvaRing and had quite a severe latex allergic reaction to it. I ripped my Gyno a new one after that happened. So I've been using the nuvaring for around 5 years now and it's been pretty normal for me. this past cycle when I was supposed to take my ring out I took it out 1 day early (it usually goes 30 days) because I was getting the most AWFUL cramps I've ever felt. I'm bloated, and basically can't stand without some pain (constantly feeling like I need to poop essentially). Anyways, I got my period on Thursday night (took it out Tuesday) and it's been extremely light.
