1767171 tn?1328018842 Once you push past the mental block you will regain your appetite - well, I did after a couple of months. I suggest you talk with a diabetic nutritionist to work on meal plans that best suit your lifestyle. Your doctor may have a referral or contact your local hospital as most have one on staff.
Avatar f tn Hi I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to go about (or when) to get an ultrasound. I just finished graduate schools so I don't have my school's insurance anymore and I don't start working for two weeks. How do people usually pay for sonograms during the no insurance period? Should I wait until 8 weeks? Anyone in the DMV area can tell me where to get one?
Avatar f tn Honestly, the most responsible thing he can do for your baby is finish school. He'll have more opportunities to be successful and that only means more for your daughter. I know it's frustrating but it's only a few more months. In the mean time, there are programs out there to help you care for your daughter. There are even programs to help you go to trade school and have a career so you don't have to rely on minimum wage jobs or programs for long.
Avatar f tn I was 15 when I got pregnant with my 1st. My family was very upset with me. Show them you can finish school , and do everything you can to make your life and your babies life wonderful even though your young. I'm now 22 married and having my 3rd boy. I wouldn't trade anything in this world for my kids and I don't ever regret having my son at 16. Yes you are young but you are human. If he is supportive and is willing to find a job until you can as well than awesome!

2021910 tn?1339896686 Oh my gosh I've been wondering the SAME thing but for Washington. Although last time I called 411 about housing in my area they told me that basically nobody is helping with housing due to budget cuts :'( and the ones that are have a waiting list at least a year long. But thats just for my state I'm not sure about yours. Try calling your local 411 or 211 and asking about housing. Or look it up in the phonebook.
974403 tn?1291663376 Many people follow the 10,000 steps a day programs as I do. I also use several other trackers that you currently have available. I just think it would be a great idea to also track the number of steps your clients take each day. Once again, thanks for listening and perhaps I'll see a "Steps Tracker" in the future.
Avatar m tn Hi all! I had a heart attack and was diagnosed with diabetes almost a year ago that turned my life upside down. Since the attack and quadruple bypass surgery I've lost my house, car, and can no longer do the work I've been doing for the last 30years b/c of the physical requirements. I've applied for and been denied Disability and don't know where to turn. My challenge now is being able to the afford my medicine needed every month of about $150.
Avatar f tn Here in NC we have Specialists who can talk to us and test to see what direction to go in. Community Colleges often have Certificate Programs for a new career which are 12-18 months. Usually they also have help for folks with disabilities at the guidance office. The problem is the funding cuts to so many programs. Community colleges sometimes have short classes one exploring a new career. With our fluctuating work force there are lots of people of all ages having to rethink a career.
Avatar f tn Well, pregnancy is tough for everybody. It's definitely something you have to get used to, but if there's anything that can motivate you towards success, it is your child. Me and my bf were only together for 6 months when I found out, and we had just moved in our own place together. I literally found out the morning after we moved in. We definitely weren't ready, and still probably aren't with only 10 weeks to go, but it changed both of us for the better.
Avatar f tn Okaew , so i live in VA and my baby father lives in NC but i am still in high school , should i move to NC because thats where my support is or should i stay here and move when i graduate in June even though im due Jan ?
Avatar f tn maybe you should not stick to a regimented counting type program and give yourself over to a nutritionist who can explain food to you properly. WW is good I guess, but if you do not fully understand the foods that are going into your body all the counting this and that will not help you for the long haul. Remember, you are not eating just for you, you are setting the nutritional ideas for your kids as well. They will eat what you provide at your home, what they see you eat.
724112 tn?1292919407 Have any of you been pregnant and/or had a newborn while attending college/graduate school? If so, I could use some advice... My fiance and I have been TTC #1 since December, but, after finding out I was accepted into my first choice grad. school program (Master's of Forensic Science at GWU, in Washington D.C.), we decided to "cool it down" a bit--or at least "time" it better, so I won't need to take a term off.
Avatar f tn I am 27 years old and married. I have about a year and a half left for my PhD and I am expecting my first child in November. Pregnancy is SUCH a taboo topic academia and I was troubled by how a female post-doc reacted yesterday when I brought it up. I was telling her about another student who works from home a lot because she has an 8-month old son and the post-doc rolled her eyes and said "Oh God, one of those." This is a common attitude.
Avatar f tn I am a recent college graduate that is currently working 28 hours a week, while 30 weeks pregnant. I pay rent, transportation and other necessities. I am also studying for the MCAT's, while taking the last two prerequisites that I could not take while in school due to my work schedule. I am paying for these classes out of pocket. I do not plan on being on government assistance for long. I have potential job opportunities after I give birth through family and friends to bring in more income.

Avatar f tn For coordinated rehabilitation program a team of a neurologist, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist and a speech-language pathologist, a nutritionist work together to help you in your recovery. Therefore, I would suggest following the suggestion made by them and recovery will be although slow but most of the functions may be restored. In addition, it is essential to know that risk of stroke recurrence may be reduced such as by quitting smoking and controlling blood pressure.
Avatar m tn try to get exercise everyday, atleast 30 minutes/day for 5 days a week, and try to lose some weight(both through exercise and most importantly dietary changes). A nutritionist can be great in helping figure out a diet plan that cuts calories but still remains balanced and healthy, or you can try programs like Weight watchers. Good luck, congratulations to you and your wife on your new little one, and take care of yourself.
