Avatar n tn I am 32 weeks pregnant and I have gestational diabetes. It isn't so bad I was so overwhelmed at first but once I talked to my nutritionist made it a lot easier.
Avatar m tn Hello all... I am from Germany and I am a certified nutritionist and I am researching on weight loss so I have joined this forum to learn and share my views about weight loss.
Avatar n tn When we discussed this with our nutritionist we were told to try to find one that we enjoy and not to worry about whether it is protein or starch. These protein bars are supposed to a balance meal in a bar. The ones made for diabetics are designed to help keep blood sugars level. We have found the Zone bars, and the bars that are low carbs (they say to count as a lower carb. than on the label.) Have worked better for keeping our daughters blood sugars in line.

Avatar n tn I think we all know what happened, folks. Now they're apparently preparing to run me off the anxiety forum. If we can't get to the nub, what's the point?
Avatar m tn Low cholesterol, great blood pressure, nothing else of concern per my medical doctor at last check up. I see a nutritionist, take vitamins etc...was pregnant at 24, 29, terminated both at 6 wks. Pregnant at 40 yrs old, terminated with seaweed expansion at 14 wks. Pregnant again at 45 last May, miscarriage. Doctor, please tell me any advice that pops into mind regarding my chances of conceiving, not miscarrying and delivering healthy baby...
Avatar m tn Hello and thank you for the question on our forum. Your friend is lucky to have someone willing to do her cooking and keep her dietary concerns in check. Diet modifications are one of the first steps in managing the development of ovarian cysts so we are happy she is in tune with that. Certain foods affect our hormones and that is how they contribute to the development of cysts. Does your friend have a condition called PCOS?
Avatar f tn s and am waiting to see an endocrinologist/nutritionist. I did find out lab results from two years ago showed my T4 to be 0.9. I think it was total T4, but don't know for sure. Seems low. I also was told that I still have antibodies, but will make the new doctor test everything at one time...now that I know better from this forum. Just wondering if 0.9 could indicate Hashimotos. thanks!
Avatar f tn I Eat a very healthy diet soIi was shocked to see my cholesterol numbers. My doctor sent me to a nutritionist. I spoke to the nutritionist on the phone, and she felt that she did not need to see me at this point. She suggested that I keep a food diary and pointed me to this site. I am not finding it difficult to track every meal on the food diary. Go to Trackers and scroll down to Food Diary (the icon is an apple on a green background).
Avatar f tn m on a low dose of glyburide at bedtime and just making sure I eat the right amount of carbs at the right times. Are you going to see a nutritionist or a maternal fetal medicine specialist? Seeing the nutritionist helped me a lot.
Avatar f tn I went to a nutritionist regarding my tiredness and weight loss. The nutritionist committed me to one month of perfect eating, sleeping, routine walks and no alcohol. After the month I was symptom free. No headaches, great energy, and the muscle aches have subsided. I've been maintaining the proper diet, sleep, walking and moderation on alcohol. The nutritionist suspected that I was using alcohol and pain releif in excess.
939489 tn?1260887943 I had gastric bypass over three years ago and I am now pregnant. I would love to find a group or forum where i can talk to women who are willing to share their experiences. Personally, i would like to know if anyone whom had the surgery has gone through any of the things I am currently experiencing. Firstly, My baby is healthy as a lark currently, and I would like to keep it that way. However, I am constantly losing weight,20 lbs, since being pregnant.
Avatar f tn I became an addict I guess when the FDA came to my house due to my calling in prescriptions under my fiancé at time( a physician) and the MD I worked for. I count my blessings that my repercussions were to attend a court ordered rehab. I must say this form of rehab would have been difficult if I was not financially stable an had the love and support that I did. 9 years later and I am once again on day one of withdrawals. $2000 in debt w my dealer for Oxys $5 a piece or up to $20 a piece.
Avatar n tn Hello ozark. thanks so much for coming to this forum in search of answers for you. While I may be able to shed some light on the whole food thing for you, this forum focuses on type 1 diabetes and not type 2. One of the things you stated is that your mother had stopped all sugars and was eating three meals a day consisting of wheat breads, salads, veggies and fruit and some sugar free cookies. You are puzzled why her blood sugars are not dropping even though she's eating this way.
Avatar n tn Click on the Health Page icon on the top right hand side of this forum page. I have posted the DSM IV diagnositic criteria for autism and parents have posted examples of their child's behaviour that fits the criteria. That might help you get a better idea of what the professionals are looking for when they suspect an autistis spectrum disorder.
Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum, the patients who are allergic to yeasts should stay away from the yeast containing foods. You can get the list of the yeast containing foods from the net. Examples of yeast containing foods are Bakery products like Cookies, cake items, pastries and sweet rolls, pretzels, rolls and breads. Beer and Alcoholic Beverages, Vinegar or natural root beer, soy sauce, olives, sauerkraut and apple cider. Cranberries doesn't contain yeasts. Hence, it can be safely taken.
Avatar m tn She has been to an acupuncturist, an MD and a Chiropracter/Nutritionist. All to no avail. We regularly massage her calves, however it has gotten to the point that she may not be able to play. This would be devastating to her. I have just read on the forum about others that are experiencing similar problems. I am going to have her circulation checked and maybe compartment syndrome, although I don't know what that is. I would appreciate any ideas anyone has about what to do next!
5664897 tn?1375480696 Professional help thru an inpatient or intense outpatient program. A nutritionist and therapist are a must. This is rarely cured on your own.
Avatar n tn Thanks I heard that I just wondered how it affected pregnancy. My doctors office basically called me and told me I was diabetic this time I was hypoglycemic and that they would keep a close eye on me but didn't say anything else so I just wondered. And the last thing I want to do is google anything cuz its always worse case.
600561 tn?1326845621 I have, all year, suffered from low energy. I've seen a nutritionist (rather than listen to GI guy and take an antibiotic to kill bacteria in my gut, whose various methods of work suggest that I am allergic to milk products. I avoid and I am better. I take probiotics and a digestive enzyme prior to meals. I am better but still tired. Last Saturday I took a sleep test and was then diagnosed with apnea. If I great this, can I recover energy and GI functions?
Avatar f tn I just wanted to leave an update. So many times on a forum I would run across people with the same problems and than find out the question was like way over a year ago, and I never hear the results. My beta did finally drop below 5. I unfortunately continue to gain weight. It is crazy. I have gained 20 lbs. since the pregnancy started in May. My stomach looks like I am 3-4 months pregnant. (Like where I would be if this pregnancy had not miscarried).
Avatar n tn sorry add a fibre suppliment, metamical may have laxitave properties in it.
