8256587 tn?1399897506 My doctor has only just been made aware of this referral because although the endocrinology department sent my surgery a copy letter about this, my surgery have said they have not received any letter from anyone. My surgery have given me lactulose for the constipation but I have not used it as it contains lactose and a private nutritionist has said I am lactose intolerant, so what is the best plan of action?
Avatar f tn I'm 26 years old and a year ago I went to see a nutritionist and took a hair mineral test and found out that I had elevated liver enzymes. The nutritionist made a comment about it possibly being hepatitis. I recently lost 50 pounds but have been obese for many years. When I went to see my nutritionist I was approximately 200 pounds and I'm 5'3. I did a little research and found out that elevated liver enzymes can be due to a fatty liver because of obesity.
Avatar m tn can you ask the surgeon who did the open heart surgery to write a letter to the insurance company?? many times if they have the written letter, they may cover the surgery/scar revision. but I wouldn't worry too much about the scar, no one really cares about it. I have a 9 inch scar that is unsightly, but I'm not going to change a thing about it.
Avatar f tn I did my glucose test at 28 weeks. I'm now 31 weeks and got a letter from my OB saying they want to talk to me about my results and she said they wouldn't contact me unless something was wrong. What are the risks for my baby or for me with having gestational diabetes? If you've had it let me know what happened please?
203342 tn?1328737207 Does anyone know what the difference is between a Nutritionist and a Dietitian is? I tried to get my insurance to refer me to dietitian but they won't cover it. Then a friend recommended I talk to a Nutritionist. I've been having gastro problems the last couple of years. They're not sure if I have Crohn's or what. I do have the inflammation and diarrhea. And have had ulcers in the past. I can't seem to eat ANYTHING anymore. Everything upsets my stomach, even healthy foods.

Avatar f tn Hello, I would like to know if Armour and other natural thyroid medicines are covered by Medicaid? Also, what is the copay in USA if only regular insurances take it? Does CVS stock it? What about "biochemical" cortisol, progesterone, estrogen, etc.? -- Same questions as above. If I end up going to this specialist and he puts me on a natural thyroid medicine, and I end up moving out of state and going to a new doctor, what do I do about staying on that medicine?
Avatar f tn Hi guy's, I've received neurologist No 1's letter. It's a very long letter so i will give you some of its content. The parts i believe that are important. These are his answers to my questions. I have multiple small lesions in the white matter of the brain. These are scattered throughout the brain in the various lobes of the brain. These seem to spare the deeper parts of the brain and brainstem. The 6.6mm is in the white matter of the right frontal region of the brain.
Avatar f tn When I applied I was told the approval process can take up to 90 days, however when you get approved they will cover you from the date you applied...does that make sense? Like if you applied on oct 1st but didnt get approval until dec 1st, they would cover the period in between. I contacted the actual medi-cal worker and told her my situation, how I was very pregnant and needed to get my approval sooner and she was able to work with me, I got my letter of acceptance 2 weeks after I applied.

Avatar f tn Hi. I'm supposed to be 6w1d today and have been spotting on and off for a week now. I have had a miscarriage a year ago and believe I am having another one. Is there anything I can do, I am waiting on insurance letter before I am able to choose a doctor and can't really afford another hospital bill.
Avatar f tn they would not release her until shje had a doctor, a therapist, and a nutritionist to follow her progress----our insurance would only cover one visit with a nutritionist for a diabetic. i talked to a nurse with the company, she consulted with some doctors, who verified that having a nutritionist was standard treatment---and our insurance agreed to cover one for us. It can take alot of work, but you can quite often beat the insurance company at their own game if you are really persistent.

Avatar m tn Aside medications, the total calorie intake and calorie distribution into carbohydrate, proteins and fats is important. You could see a dietician/ nutritionist for charting of a diet plan. Hopefully things would settle soon as the blood sugar levels become stable. Take care!
Avatar f tn I think you should do that right now. it will take more than a few hours or even days for you to get approval.
