Avatar f tn I was wondering at what to put the nutritional value of food over the amount of calories they contain. For example, I regulate my calories fairly closely and usually am always well under the daily recommended amount, but there are some days that I feel like I am hungry all day. As a general rule, I enjoy eating raw mixed nuts as a snack, but they tend to be high in calories.
Avatar f tn s no loss in not eating coconut, by the way -- very high in saturated fat and not all that high in nutritional value, though it does have a few antioxidants in it. It's a fad. I'm guessing in the end we'll find the coconut industry behind the very odd fixation on it all of a sudden.

Avatar n tn Juice covers a lot -- virtually anything can be juiced if you're doing this yourself. Fruit juices contain a lot of sugar, but can also be powerful antioxidants, but vegetable juices can be very valuable. Wheatgrass juice is great. So this depends on what you mean by nutritional juices. Most important, avoid anything that's not organic. When you juice anything, you use a lot of it, and that enhances the amount of harmful chemicals that exist on whatever you're juicing.
Avatar n tn I got a veggie pizza with tomatoes and had already had a decent amount of drinks (not to intoxication, but I was feeling good). Anyways, I ate a few pieces of the pizza, and then noticed a drop of what I thought was the pizza sauce (it was a special runny pomodoro sauce with oil and tom. sauce) on the plate and I dabbed te pizza into it and ate it.

Avatar f tn Vegan meats and cheeses you find at stores are not only expensive but really have no nutritional value (and the cheese usually has cows milk protien oddly enough). Also duck eggs are expensive but a great replacement for chicken eggs and are more filling. Good luck! I also have low iron which is weird bc I didnt for my first 2 pregnancies.

8793709 tn?1409594060 I do the same as you, except that when hubby gets home I turn the stove back on to reheat it instead of microwave. I believe that even if it loses a little bit of the nutritional value, it's still healthier and cheaper than ordering or eating out.

When you pick your veggie, try to explain why it's "good" for you (i.e low calorie, high in vitamins/fiber, etc), what drawbacks there might to it (i.e. high carbs/starchy), etc.

I have tried many things, I LOVE food, and like you I have a lot to lose. I finally decided I needed help, and joined a Medical Weight Loss Clinic in Salt Lake City. My 1 month check up was today, and I lost 21.6 pouinds so far!! It has been a little difficult adapting to not eating JUNK FOOD!! and Processed things like ANYTHING in a can haha.

Avatar f tn My baby shower is this weekend and we are just going to have some pasta salad those pin wheel sandwiches. Veggie and fruit trays and some little oven type foods like egg rolls. Then cupcakes and Costco carrot cake! But you could always do bbq or something like that!

Bananas should not be introduced till after baby has adapted to foods and digesting them good. Nutritional values and more about solids go to wholesome babyfoods web site. It is awesome!

Also enjoyed spicy food I never have before. 4th child 2nd son: have gone through all of the above in spurts, must have pickles, spicy food is back to being okay with me. Anyone else notice a trend in cravings in early pregnancy? I have had a few friends whose pregnancy I noted by their status updates about tacos and subway on Facebook.
