1544053 tn?1328691992 My dog likes apples. I give her about a 1/4 apple, cut into tiny pieces as treats. At apple time, she often picks her own from the low branches of the trees in the orchard! So I make sure she doesn't get any apple seeds too because they are toxic. Grapes are definitely toxic for dogs. NO grapes! Raisins are the same, ditto sultanas, currants, etc. I've heard of dogs who like bananas, but mine doesn't. Corn....

For example, I regulate my calories fairly closely and usually am always well under the daily recommended amount, but there are some days that I feel like I am hungry all day. As a general rule, I enjoy eating raw mixed nuts as a snack, but they tend to be high in calories.
Avatar f tn Most of the fruit I can eat, some of the juices I can. My problem is the vegetables. There is a list of veggies like cabbage, lima beans, tomato, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, and potato. All but the lima beans, tomato and potato says "cooked" in brackets. I cant stand cooked vegetables. I only eat raw, uncooked vegetables. I am wondering WHY would they have to be cooked. Wouldn't the vegetables lose the nutrients if they're cooked?

Avatar f tn Though it is not healthy, YES, calories from Coke do count, being it is a liquid, it gets in your system fast, as do any soft drinks. If you want healthy calories, eat lots of fruits and "meaty" veggies, meaning peas, lima beans, etc. A good smoothie once in awhile will not hurt either.
Avatar f tn I've been dealing with severe gastro symptoms for 5+ years. The "Attacks" as I call them are happening more often and becoming more severe. Some attacks wake me up in the middle of the night or hit in the middle of the night if I'm already awake. It starts out as severe stomach cramps and what feels like my stomach is on fire. I will then have severe diarrhea, nausea, and sometimes hives. My hives are intense but only last less than 24 hours.

We have eggplants coming soon and potatoes, lima beans, and about 200 lbs more of tomatoes yet to ripen! I cant believe how much we have this year! Theres other veggies Im forgetting too.....carrots, beets, cauilflower, brocollli, onions, parsley, chives, dill... Im soooooooo happy that we will save a ton of money on grocery bills indefinitely!
