Avatar f tn I was wondering at what to put the nutritional value of food over the amount of calories they contain. For example, I regulate my calories fairly closely and usually am always well under the daily recommended amount, but there are some days that I feel like I am hungry all day. As a general rule, I enjoy eating raw mixed nuts as a snack, but they tend to be high in calories.

Avatar f tn i was always under the impression in the past there wasnt much nutritional value in b.m after 12 months. addison is now almost 13 months and while her vitamins are mostly from her foods she is still at the breast. how long is it something that she benefits from? im in no hurry to wean her, and she has no intentions she is very much in love with her boob lol, but im curious. she seems to be more and more dependant on the breast to fall asleep too, which i need to break.
82861 tn?1333453911 We left the pizza in the box on the coffee table as we showed our friend around. On returning to the living room, the box was gone. Hiding in the corner behind the couch was Travis, neatly opened box in front of him and the last piece of pizza dangling from his jaws. We stared at each other in shocked silence for a few seconds until Travis decided to get rid of the evidence. He swallowed that last piece whole in one scarf. What can you do BUT laugh?!

325405 tn?1262290178 I think if you freeze it, you would take away from the nutritional value. You could get the same nutritional value from eating bean sprouts on a salad. Would be easier for you.

483733 tn?1326798446 To my knowledge, cabbage has almost no nutritional value, so sneaking in some broccoli is a good way to bump up coleslaw.

349463 tn?1333571576 In general, it is recommended that breastfed babies wait until closer until 6 months to maximize the benefits of breastmilk. Basically, rice cereal has no nutritional value- it is empty calories. Giving it to your baby takes the place of nutritional milk. It also can contribute to diabetes and obesity because it trains the baby to fill up on empty calories. The studies are interesting. If you do introduce it by spoon, it is to begin introducing the baby to taste and texture.
1396867 tn?1520810258 i would try to cut all of the cereals out of her diet. This fills the tummy but has no nutritional value. If you are doing solids, continue the flavorful and nutritional foods. You will probably see in increase in milk intake then.
Avatar m tn I am curious if I am still getting the same nutritional value from the uncooked oats as if I were cooking them?
Avatar m tn The first ingredient listed is what the food has the most of in it. The second would be second most, third a little less and so on. Here's goes: 1st Ingredient - Whole Corn - Means the bulk of this food is corn. Digestion of Corn causes skin irritations, hair loss, ear infections, kidney and LIVER disease, chronic digestive problems, heart disease, and thyroid disease in dogs. NO Nutritional value in corn..
Avatar f tn Hello, I've been doing a lot of researching on magnesium and I've found that magnesium deficiency (also called "hypomagnesemia" or "hypomagnesium"), can cause: depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and other conditions. Recently, I've been learning that it can cause psychosis, too, and I found a supportive medical report: (PsychosomaticMedicine) http://www.psychosomaticmedicine.org/cgi/reprint/57/3/299.
920355 tn?1243534043 Just today when I collected my son from daycare they had had to close the sand box as all 4 of the one year olds that were ouside had been trying to eat the sand! I remembered my son doing it too. As long as he has a good diet I wouldn't think it was a problem but Annies suggestion of the multi vitamin drops if he doesn't have a varied diet is a good one.
649848 tn?1534633700 Med Help has just launched a new Nutrition Application, which will help make it easier to find the nutritional value/calories of the foods you are eating - this should make it easier to keep up with the food tracker; it looks like you can link right to your food diary and exercise/weight trackers. There's an area where you can "ask an expert", as well as a lot of other valuable information.
Avatar f tn Well, graham crackers (also lacking nutritional value) also have a lot of sugar in them. Those would be a trigger food for me. Instead, I eat things like nuts, dried fruit mixed. Some cheese. Tortilla chips with salsa or guacamole. A hard boiled egg. Fruit. Those help you feel full and are nutritional. that's the key.
1544053 tn?1328691992 My dog likes apples. I give her about a 1/4 apple, cut into tiny pieces as treats. At apple time, she often picks her own from the low branches of the trees in the orchard! So I make sure she doesn't get any apple seeds too because they are toxic. Grapes are definitely toxic for dogs. NO grapes! Raisins are the same, ditto sultanas, currants, etc. I've heard of dogs who like bananas, but mine doesn't. Corn....
