Avatar f tn I am in some sort of denial and refuse to believe it and want a second option heard of UC Davis Veterinary School. Although my vet was really sweet I could not really understand her she is from Japan. She did an ultrasound a found a mass the size of a fist please give some hope and tell me surgery is the best thing. Worried cause he is 13 yrs old and deserves to live at least 2 more years right?
Avatar f tn I was going to suggest UC Davis MS Center until you mentioned you have Kaiser. I really feel for you. I had my last child at Kaiser in Sacramento and that was a sad, very sad experience. I can understand why you aren't thrilled with your neuro. Have you thought of asking one of the nurses in neurology at Kaiser about a good neuro? I find that nurses referrals are the best you can ever get. They know who is worthwhile and who to stay away from.
2219385 tn?1339533486 I saw and had my surgery performed by Dr. Sam Ciricillo with Sutter Neuroscience in Sacramento. He is a specialist and has done hundreds of decompression surgeries. I have been very happy with my results. There is also Dr. Boggan at UC Davis, I don't know much about him but definately google him. I started my journey at UCSF with Dr. Barbaro but he has moved out of state. Hope these names give you a place to start. You are such a great friend to help out in this way...
Avatar f tn I am having a hard time finding pain management doctors that believe I have symptomatic Tarlov cysts. My neurosurgon is at UC Davis in Sacramento who I'm schedulted to see next week, and I live in San Diego. A whole days drive. No doctors believe in this disease. They all think it's no big deal. They keep giving me epidural steroid injections, which hurt so bad.
973566 tn?1247952483 t remember a thing from there except a ride in an ambulance going to UC Davis! 2-3 hours AWAY from home! The emergency doctor had called Dr. Rubinstein to let him know and he said "there are no beds for her here". ( I had a liver hematoma the size of a mans shoe showing on my xray just 1-2 hours after leaving Stanford Medical Center) Well, 1 month in ICU in UC Davis I was blowing up and turning yellow. I was stable enough to leave and get closer to home.
Avatar n tn Might be a good place to start. http://mend.endojournals.org/cgi/rapidpdf/me.2005-0014v1.
Avatar f tn Informative video "Hepatitis C Update" from University of California Television, first aired 4/1/2009. "Dr. Lorenzo Rossaro, UC Davis Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology presents an update on the treatment of Hepatitis C." http://www.uctv.tv/search-details.aspx?showID=16056&subject=health Dr Rossaro states that triple therapy will be available in 2012-2014. He talks about SVR as CURE which is so nice to hear.
Avatar n tn Please see a copy of my review below that I have posted across social media regarding my deeply regrettable thyroid surgery experience with Dr. Michael J Campbell II at UC Davis in Sacramento, California. I’m reaching out to see if there are any resources for a patient in my difficult circumstances. I just saw and endocrinologist (Dr. Kearnon Welch) at UC Davis who told me that I had the "good" kind of cancer.
Avatar m tn I really feel going to the best hospitals in your state give you the better outcomes. I felt horrible before the surgery and was a patient at UC Davis where I live. UC Davis is great for cancer and research but when I received my second opinion at UCSF I could see the difference in experience between the two hospitals. I had to fight my HMO to get the surgery done at UCSF and am so happy with the results.
Avatar n tn Hard to breathe, hard to understand language, and my hearing seems to be effected, fatigue. Anytime my blood pressure changes all these symptoms increase. I had a ct-scan and was sent to UC Davis and they wouldn't admit me. So I have been waiting for 3 weeks to see a neurologist as my symptoms continue to get worst. I did have a dr. Reread my cat-scan and he told me that I had a tortuous Vertebro artery that was jagged on the inside.
Avatar n tn they keep sending me back and fourth... so i did some research and there is a doctor at UC DAVIS in sacramento im hoping to get into see in like a month or two?...
Avatar f tn My baby has Gastroschisis, it is a defect where there's a little hole in her abdomen close to the umbilical cord, where her bowels are slipping out and developing outside of her body. I am 34 weeks pregnant, and we found out about her defect back in July. It's been really scary. Of all defects, this is probably the "best"- she will have surgery after she's born, and then after she recovers there should be no problems ever in her future.
1488562 tn?1288826355 Here's another very good video posted by zazza in April of 09, a member we don't see much of anymore but who was quite savvy when came to numbers and always provided excellent information. I highly recommend it. Informative video "Hepatitis C Update" from University of California Television, first aired 4/1/2009. 715068 tn?1392933532 God bless you hun...I'm sooo sorry you are going thru this again...I wish you the best of luck with your surgery and future pregnancies...
Avatar f tn This dr worked at UCSF, specializing in Chiari. He averages over 50 decompression surgeries/yr, he's been published re: Chiari surgical options, and he was recommended by a mother who's 4 year old saw him last year: had decompression surgery, and who only had good things to say. He's also not 70 yrs old + like the other dr in my area that's been recommended. Those add up to some pretty good chiari credentials IMO.

Avatar f tn I have not had the problem but this sounds very similar to what my opthomologist went through a few years ago and probably around your age. He was diagnosed by a physician in the town we live in but he went up to UC Davis Medical Center to see a specialist up there. He had the surgery done at UC Davis and he is fine today, no residual paralysis. I would strongly suggest you try to find a specialist that is experienced in doing that type of surgery.
382218 tn?1341181487 Avril Lavigne, who recently joined the Board of Directors of the Nancy Davis Foundation, wears a t-shirt designed by Nancy Davis to benefit the Foundation as part of her Peace & Love collection. The window will also give passersby a way to make a difference, by providing them with the EraseMS.org website and a list of participating retailers like Kitson, Peace and Love Jewelry, and Lisa Hoffman Beauty who are selling merchandise during the month of May to benefit the organization.
Avatar f tn t remember the ultrasound frequency but it was tested by the doctors at UC Davis, so they can advise you. Now I am using only patches infused by capsaicin and belladonnae radicis, witch I found in Europe and I don't feel the pain and I can walk again. I hope this will help you or somebody else.
Avatar f tn My upper GI scan came back with acid reflux disease, and that same doctor also said he thought I had UC. I had a colonoscopy, and I had colitis symptoms but my cultures came back negative. That doctor never diagnosed me and never told me what to do to relieve my symptoms. Why is it after being convinced I had UC, he never diagnosed me, and why tell me I could have 1000 test done, and never get an answer. I'm not lying, and its clear somethings wrong!
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with UC 14 years ago, had surgury for it 6 years later and now 9 years later am showing signs of crohn's. I will find out for sure on Monday. What I don't understand is that I am not eating that much because it hurts (mostly carbs because they hurt the least) is how am I managing to put on weight. I know that having bipolar disease on top of this isn't helping because I get sad and want to eat. I am trying to stick to the low residue diet but it is sooooo boooring.
