What you need is a good diet with healthy fats such as omega-3, essential fatty acids sources like tuna but personally i would prefer smaller fishes like sardines/pilchards because they contain less mercury, salmon ( mercury again don't eat too much ), flax, and walnuts.
Avatar f tn But am confused about the nutrition fact they write in the box of food (rice for example) they say nutrition facts for 100 g but is it like 100g of boiled rice or the uncooked product ? I guess there's a difference because when you use dry product you need for example two cups but if you use cooked rice you may need a cup ... Since it sucked water and its heavier so .. Any thoughts or maybe am dumb lol ! Thank you .

I used to hate any nut except peanuts but now I can tolerate them. My HDL (good) cholesterol is low and the LDL (bad) cholesterol is right where it's supposed to be but because of the low HDL this automatically makes the LDL high.
Avatar n tn Lots of veggies- plenty of vitamins and low calories. Sweet potatoes have a lot of nutrition in them. Apples are recommended for fiber and are an excellent energy source, releasing sugars more slowly than many kinds of fruit (see private message). Good fats found in pistachios, almonds and walnuts as well as the protein they provide make these nuts good ones to eat. A suggestion I once heard was to eat a small handful of nuts prior to having your meal to help curb your appetite.

Avatar n tn it's important to make sure your baby is getting all the nutrition he or she needs, it's not always easy considering our cravings are almost always unhealthy lol but keep your baby in mind and make sure you eat something nutritious every day.
Avatar m tn I take generic Levo for Hashimotos, but I read on Synthroid's website that walnuts are contradicted when taking their version. I called and talked to one of their doctors on the phone, but they couldn't answer why it is contradicted, or how long you should wait before taking meds and eating them. From what I get, it is because of the fiber content (?) of the walnuts. Again, I have never seen this on any Levo pamphlet, but found this interesting.
Avatar f tn There are other shakes you mix in the blender. Nuts like almonds and walnuts you buy for baking are good for snacks. I buy mine from a warehouse store. I gained twenty pounds back which is perfect BMI for me now I have to keep that weight not gain or lose.

Avatar f tn I think you need to pay closer attention to proper nutrition, fueling and hydration. You are extremely active and your caloric intake was probably not sufficient on this day. Tbd I have never used Medifast personally, but a quick glance at their nutrition facts, and I would say if you are struggling with high cholesterol, I wouldn't go that route. Any pre-packaged items/shakes like that tend to be high in sodium and cholesterol- two things you want to stay away from. As with any diet- I'd ask your doctor before you start any plan to make sure it's right for you. I know losing weight can be tough!

They're tiny seeds that have very little taste and can easily be put in almost any food. Avatar n tn Walnuts are safe to eat as long as you're not allergic to them. They're high in (good) fat. I find walnuts easily go rancid. I source my supply, buy them in bulk and keep the walnuts in the freezer, except for a jarful or so, which I keep in the fridge. The one problem with them is that when they're good, I can't stop eating them. I'm not sure why you're associating your weight loss with HCV. Did your doctor say there's a connection?
