Common Questions and Answers about Nutrition facts rice

Avatar f tn But am confused about the nutrition fact they write in the box of food (rice for example) they say nutrition facts for 100 g but is it like 100g of boiled rice or the uncooked product ? I guess there's a difference because when you use dry product you need for example two cups but if you use cooked rice you may need a cup ... Since it sucked water and its heavier so .. Any thoughts or maybe am dumb lol ! Thank you .

Avatar f tn oatmeal for breakfast, whole wheat breads, oatmeal cookies, bran muffins, whole-wheat pasta, and brown rice. Serve fruit and vegetables in any form, raw or cooked. Salads are great if she will eat it. The most important aspect to increased fiber is increasing your fluid intake. Avatar n tn If he likes pasta, then add meat or cheese sauces to the pasta instead of plain tomato sauce or plain pasta. Add dry milk to oatmeal, mashed potatoes, gravies, creamed vegetables, and creamed soups (add additional protein sources to soups such as meat). Use all fat dairy products and no low fat foods so he has the calories he needs. Remember to relax at meals and just give him the foods he wants.
Avatar m tn Well, I know you say you don't have time to get to the gym, but that is what will boost your appetite and help build the muscle you're looking for. Even if you can't do it regularly, try to at least go for a jog around your block once or twice a week or do workout videos (like the well-known P90X videos) that are quick to whip you into shape at home. As for meal plans, combining complex carbs and protein is your best bet for gaining muscle.
Avatar m tn bread, jam and milk in the morning, rice with chicken and some salad at noon and a bowl of fruit (with some dried fruit or nuts) in the evening. There were, of course, some exceptions, when I would eat something sweet during the day. I noticed that my weight went down steadily, to 51-52 kg. I started feeling very tired all the time, I lacked the energy for usual things. My blood analyses revealed no deficiency. Recently I did a calculation: for weight maintenance, I should consume about 2.
1407457 tn?1281317353 Brown rice is better, limit the amount. Bread: stick to whole wheat/whole grain with FIBER! Fiber is perfect for us who have pcos, eating more fiber...atleast 20-30 grams a day will help you stay fuller longer...therefore not eating as much. Lots of fresh (or canned or frozen) veggies as well as fresh fruit (or frozen or canned). Keep plenty of water with you at all times.

Avatar f tn m really trying to limit my sodium intake, so when I go grocery shopping I make sure I pay special attention to sodium on the nutrition facts. I want to ask how can you calculate sodium from something you eat? If I buy a box of poptarts for example and it says 30MG, does each poptart have 30mgs of sodium or is that the amount for the whole box in all? Also is I buy a red baron pizza and it says 800mgs of sodium how do u calculate how much sodium in eating if I only eat 2 slices?
975263 tn?1283467568 , a good idea would be that if you still have him on a bottle you give him a sippy cup instead, and I agree with your Doctor finger foods , let him eat by himself, put up some nutricious foods onto a plate, cheerios or similar Cereal for breakfast, yoghort, let him have his own spoon, you can clear up the mess thats okay, sometimes slices of toast with peanut butter and jelly.
Avatar f tn It is recommended that people with MS consume a low-fat/ high fiber diet as the same as the general public. There have been 'diets' that claim to help MS, however, they have not been under strict controlled studies for effectiveness. Generally a healthy diet is recommending lowering your sugar and sodium consummation with a low fat/ high fiber intake.

254689 tn?1251180040 Looks like we've had very little action (that sounds weird) on this forum so here goes: my mil, god love her, is convinced that Noah needs cereal. Actually she was convinced of this a week ago when he was 6 weeks. She frequently comments that if he (noah) had been born a generation ago, he'd be given cereal and quit starving. I know better as my older children weren't started on cereal until 4-6 months old. But dh isn't since this is his first biological child.
Avatar f tn But yes they can have rice cereal. The main ingredient in no spit up formula and some others is rice. Go with your mommy instincts. "Researchers say" changes every few years, you know whats best.
Avatar f tn Hi :-) I am very interested in changing my eating habits and learning more about nutrition. I recently was told that soy milk can cause thyroid problems. Would any one like to share pro's and con's of consuming a lot of soy in your diet? Thanks, B.
Avatar f tn Like you said, at this stage the main nutrition should be milk- there are no nutritional benefits to rice- just empty calories. at this stage, food introduction would be for taste and texture only- not for nutrition. my ped also said that since breastfed babies are introduced to fewer foreign proteins and potential allergens than formula fed babies, it makes sense to hold off.
Avatar n tn You may get a better response if people knew what the abbreviation cbgdd means. Does he have trouble swallowing? Without more information, the only thing I can think of is to resort to the food processor for the foods, so he still gets better nutrition and you don't have to keep buying expensive jars of baby foods.

Avatar m tn Most vegetarians rely on beans and nuts for their protein, as should you. The rice should be brown rice for maximum protein and nutrition; beans combined with any whole grain will give you a complete protein. Iron is not a problem for vegetarians -- there are many vegetable sources for it, including beets, parsley, dandelion greens, most green leafy veggies except lettuce, nettles, etc.
