Avatar m tn I eat organic... All kinds of veggies raw or cooked, like cauliflower, broccoli, cabbages, spinach, eggplant, squash, radishes, tomatoes, lettuce, sprouts, mushrooms (not magic shrooms, though)... come on. I can't possibly list them all, there are so many. Lentils, all kind of pulses, beans, peas, fresh or dried... then soaked and cooked. Chick peas I sprout now and then. Tempeh, tofu, miso, Dark rye bread, Danish style. Brown rice and other whole grains.
Avatar n tn Another big food intolerance to consider is gluten intolerance. I think it is wise to test your son for Celiac. If it comes back negative, this is good news. But, a person can still be gluten intolerant without having Celiac. The treatment for it is the same either way, which is to avoid gluten and dairy, particularly cow's milk. I can't tolerate any kind of lactose, cow or goat. Your son seems to be displaying the classic symptoms of Celiac.

1666434 tn?1325262350 Quinoa is great by itself. Cooked right, quinoa can be sweet and delicious all on its own. For folks with the cassein cross reaction that many Celiacs also have, quinoa is great all on its own for breakfast. So, if you don't have or don't like rice or almond milk or have an allergy to one of the components in these milk substitutes, quinoa actually has plenty of safe and healthy protein on its own.

Avatar m tn Yes, medicinal benefits, but you do lose a lot of the nutrients. But if you're juicing in the winter and can't get fresh, rehydrated dry is the best you can do.
Avatar f tn Eat controlled amounts of carbs like small amounts of potatoes, but try even to change potatoes often to root vegetables with more nutrition, such as parsnips, beets, turnips. Instead of rice, which has little nutrition, try making quinoa. Whatever food you tend to binge on is probably a food your body turns straight to fat. Change is good. Colorful foods are good. Absolutely no soda, especially not diet. When you crave sweet, don't use artificial sweetners; try agave nectar.

Avatar n tn I usually go to the US Dept. of Agriculture to find nutrition amounts for various foods. For some reason they're not listing various lettuce types. I tried basic "lettuce" and found that 1 cup of cooked lettuce (yuck) has 19.4 mg of vit K. Any other idea how I might search for radicchio? Is it related to something else I could search?
Avatar n tn IMO, everything you've listed are behaviors associated with improper nutrition....He basically is starving for nutrition...... Dogs shouldn't eat the same food for life.....Think about it, would you want to eat the same breakfast cereal every meal, every day, forever? Your dog doesn't want to, either! By your description, I suspect your feeding a low quality food from a dicount center or grocery store.....You need to throughly evaluate the ingredients in his food.....
Avatar f tn They are real facts. by the time you have cooked it to kill any contamination as your vagina is not a sterile environment you've cooked all the nutrients out. Also unless you plan on taking a mini fridge or at least a cooling bag with you in two hours it starts going bad. Also if you pee or poop during delivery its contaminated. And the fact that it's what filters harmful things away from your baby it can contain bad bacteria even if it's not contaminated or stored correctly.
