547836 tn?1302832832 I was reading the nutrition facts under the links and noticed that although none of the two contain iron, the Protegra contains 5000 IU of Vitamin A! That's a lot of Vitamin A. Should I start taking these every other day? Or maybe once/ twice a week instead of everyday? or not at all? THANKS!
Avatar n tn If he likes pasta, then add meat or cheese sauces to the pasta instead of plain tomato sauce or plain pasta. Add dry milk to oatmeal, mashed potatoes, gravies, creamed vegetables, and creamed soups (add additional protein sources to soups such as meat). Use all fat dairy products and no low fat foods so he has the calories he needs. Remember to relax at meals and just give him the foods he wants.
Avatar f tn I tried the same thing - was feeling bad so eliminated sugar - only healthy foods, no red meat and started this regime 4 mo prior to tx and 3 mo into tx. No difference in sx or overall well being. As a matter of fact, in order to keep my riba down I have to have have something with a high fat content or I get nauseated. A sweet roll in the morning and ice cream in the evening works well. No difference for me either way but that's how my body responds - we are all different.
Avatar f tn Any kind of red meat and also spinach is very high in iron. Routine bloodwork will show if you're iron deficient, and if your doctor hasn't caught anything you should be fine!

I guess there's a difference because when you use dry product you need for example two cups but if you use cooked rice you may need a cup ... Since it sucked water and its heavier so .. Any thoughts or maybe am dumb lol ! Thank you .

I simply did not feel like eating, so I listened to my body and I did not eat...I drank water, I did everything else right. As our counselor said...I am no doctor. Vitamins are very hard on your stomach...especially coming off methadone because you lack proper gut function. Nutrition is of equal importance.

I am considering not eating chix either (turkey only at Thanksgiving) and considering now cutting out dairy. My concern is I don't want to lose weight and want to be healthy re: nutrients. When with us, 2 weekends a month, I try to provide very balanced healthy meals, limiting the sugar and processed foods, and give her a multi-vitamin. The problem is the other 26 days of the month at her mother's where she eats mostly fastfood, candy, chips, soda and sugary juice paks, no vitamins to supplement, not made to eat any vegetables, fruits or meat if she doesn't want it.

I like to roast some skinless chicken breasts with some low sodium seasonings...mix with a small baked potato and fresh veggies...Yum! I found, once I limted the amount of bread/rice/pasta, but not giving them up...weight came off super fast. Are you taking any medications for pcos? I'm on birth control and Metformin. Metformin helps with weight loss as well, as it is a diabetes medication.
Avatar f tn To help with her gallbladder issues, suggest lowing cholesterol/fat through diet is to eat low fat meats (chicken, fish, turkey) or non meat sources (soy products), low fat vegetarian combinations, if tolerated, (rice & beans, pasta & beans, low fat cheese & pasta), fat free or low fat dairy products (skim milk, low fat cheese, low fat yogurts, low fat soy milk/yogurt), and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables.

I have fed him Nature's Variety line since he was a kitten...for the past 2 years I have fed him Nature's Variety Instinct. He LOVES this food. I brought my cat to the vet today for a physical...and the vet recommended I give him a type of Purina food that is easily digestible. However, Nature's Variety is such a better quality food....
Avatar f tn Hi, the best person to ask would be the hepatologist but I am pretty sure it should be a high fiber, low fat, low salt diet. Fresh fruits, vegetable. For me, I don't eat red meat or pork, only chicken or fish. I try to help my liver work as well as it can. I only drink water to help it as much as I can. I am using protein shakes to make sure I get enough protein and right now I am trying a plant based shake for breakfast.

Suggest eating yogurt, or drinking milk with the fruit at night so you have a protein source in the meal. You need to increase the food you are eating at breakfast and lunch. Try snacking between meals and especially around dinner time at work so you get more calories in, too.

Remember to drink plenty of fluids daily and take your prenatal vitamin pills. What's the best way to give myself the energy I need for those 10-14 hour work days? I find it hard to get motivated in the morning so need something to energize me for breakfast and then continually throughout the day. I love cooking and smoothies and would rather eat real food over taking supplements.

What else is really bad for you? Those pre-packaged taco seasonings. They carry a ton of salt and preservatives and cause you to retain water and weigh more.
