Avatar f tn BMI is a useful way to determine a healthy weight. You can find a BMI calculator and other tools for determining a healthy weight on the CDC or NIH web sits. But healthy weight is only part of recovery, as I'm sure you know. I hope you're working on the other aspects, from good nutrition to the mental side of EDs and monitoring for anorexia sequalae.

467897 tn?1240251837 I am aware of low proteins, but need to know about dairy, pasta, fresh fruits & veggies - I really need some guidelines so I can feed this poor body as good as possible. I do cook for myself, but due to the fatigue meals often come frozen in a box (you know microwavable "healthier eats"). But please, anyone out there that can recommend foods, recipes, basics???? Maybe someone is aware of a site, or maybe an old forum topic, I am willing to listen to good suggestions.
Avatar f tn my bf is in the army & I've found that over years whilst he hasn't been working away I have comfort ate when I feel lonely & I now look like a barrel. Luckily my babe is out in 40 days!
Avatar f tn Good for you. I bought the bullet (cheap one, not the one on tv), I want to start making a liquid dinner! It's not easy for me to eat a meal in the evening, its hard for me to digest so I've just been having my whey powder. I need to branch out with recipes that are healthy. Good luck with yours!!!!!
1943833 tn?1349276589 Thank you for your reply. I'm a bit surprised by the resistance in the veterinary's office (or at least mine) to the idea of home cooking for animals. With so much research available for humans on the benefits of less additives, higher quality, less processed, etc food, you'd think they would be more open minded to the idea.
Avatar f tn Consider ground meats since you are trying to get as much nutrition as possible. I would dice the vegetables too and chew everything. Spinach and other greens are excellent. Make your plate look like a rainbow of colors and you know you are getting a wide variety of nutrients. Make friends with somebody who is into nutrition and you can learn from him or her.

579258 tn?1250649343 Be sure to search the Healthy Cooking forum, too, for similar recipes. We have tons of great holiday recipes...some are embedded in others' posts. If you enter your search term under the SEARCH THIS COMMUNITY area, directly above the RECENT ACTIVITY sidebar on the right side of the screen, you will find some great holiday recipes. (many people do not know how to search specific communities, that's the reason I mentioned this) Change up your search terms, too.
Avatar n tn Are you looking for general nutrition info or does your shepherd have a medical issue? You might contact the German Shepherd Dog Club of America for specific dietary needs for Shepherds. Don't forget your vet as a resource either. There are many excellent commercial foods available nowadays - I'm partial to Royal Canin - so don't reject them out of hand simply because they are mass produced.

Avatar n tn t have a calorie/nutrition calculator (but what a good idea). If you have the ingredients, you can add the info and then enter it as one of your foods. I'm glad it's working for you now, and let us know if you need further assistance.
Tbd //www.webmd.com/food-recipes/features/11-top-heart-healthy-foods#1. The number one item on the list for a heart healthy food? Salmon. The best fruit for heart health? Raspberries! This is followed by RED grapes. Take a look at the list and you will notice there are pretty common things to add to your diet but do remember to check with your doctor before starting any new diet. Avatar n tn I am 47 and have just been tested for food allergies. I am allergic to soy, corn and canola oil. I don't have much in the way of recipes and was wondering if anyone else out there has this problem and would like to share or swap their recipes with me?
Avatar f tn My Mom (68 years old very healthy otherwise) has been diagnosed with carcinosarcoma stage 3C ovarian cancer. I'm trying to find information on nutrition. She is undergoing chemo every three weeks taxol/carbo. I'm getting so much conflicting information on nutrition. I've been told she should have soy milk instead of cow's milk and another nutritionist said no soy milk and no rice milk! Milk is just one food that we are getting mixed info about.
