1030353 tn?1262485688 Hi - I too live in Ohio and have had 3 acute attacks of Pancreatitis (hospitalized each time) My docs here have no idea why I have these. I had my gallbladder out March of 2010 and the attacks were June Aug and Oct. My doc's said if I have one more hospitalization they will refer me to Dr. Sherman at Indiana. I did call there, and they recommended the Levbid. My doc did not want to add the antidepressant to it (don't know why) so I have been on Levbid .372 2 a day for a month.
Avatar f tn GWANDA I DONT KNOW WHAT STATE YOU LIVE IN BUT IM IN OHIO BUT IM SURE OTHER HOSPITALS DO THIS PROCEDURE I KNOW JOHN HOPKINS DOES.
Avatar m tn Is you heart rate too high, can you give a number in beats-per-second? Is the heart rate irregular, do the beats feel like they have different strengths.(pounding)? Other feelings you can describe? Emotions can cause the heart rhythm to behave badly. In this case the heart isn't the problem.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed as having panic attacks years ago. They were the typical attacks where the symptoms were heart racing, feeling of needing to escape the situation, blurry vision, nausea. But, also at this time, I was having a different sort of episode. I get the feeling in a surge of "something" that starts near my upper abdomen, and then radiates throughout my upper body. It sort of feels like a burning sensation that will move into my arms and back.
Avatar n tn When there is angina due to coronary occlusions, heart cells are being deprived of blood/oxygen and that can slowly reduce the number of good functioning heart cells and eventually heart failure. Heart attack may never happen, but heart failure as heart cells die. If you are taking medication and that does not relieve chest pain, then you should have interventional treatment...what are the episodes?
Avatar m tn They do give a number for registration - (800) 887-8100. But I believe you can register in person. If my schedule permits, I think I will go.
Avatar f tn You are absolutely correct. Inflammation and atherosclerosis doesn't have to take years. I had an angiogram in mid 2010, and by December that year I was in hospital with chest pains. A 95% blockage had formed in 6 months in my Left Circumflex. However the plaque was pretty soft, like butter which showed it wasn't very old. It does seem to take time for a thick calcification to occur.
Avatar f tn No, they can certainly do a tubal ligation after a vaginal birth - but it's a quick and easy procedure to do when the body is already opened up so many doctors almost seem excited to do it as an "extra" during a cesarean. There isn't a law requiring a certain age or a certain number of kids.
Avatar n tn t know but sounds scary and sounds like heart attack symptoms, throwing up can happen with heart attacks as well. I would go to the ER. better safe than sorry.
334776 tn?1249968581 hahahaha....well the guy who was listed in ohio, isn't really in ohio....there is speculation that he calls from a nontraceable cell, or knows someone in the local phone company and is/was able to get a "line switch" yea, i am somewhat concerned she said she knows me.....but then again, i havent worked in a few months, and no one where we live knows me, or how to get hold of me via cell..... and my MIL is from ohio, as well as all of my grandfathers family!
Avatar f tn lately i get constant pain up and down my arms and into my shoulders then center of my chest hurts and it feels heavy but not real bad it kinda feels like heart burn. the pain in my arms will only be in one arm at a time. the past 2 days the pain in arm and chest comes and goes..and i've read that in women symptoms are different sometimes than in men..im worried because the pain is becoming more frequent than it has been..
Avatar m tn Sorry to hear you have been looking for answers for so long. As to whether your symptoms sound like Lyme, there are many different presentations of Lyme, so that everyone has a different combination of different symptoms that can also change over time in the same person. In addition, the ticks that carry Lyme also often carry other diseases with symptoms of their own, so the diagnostic picture is not always clear. Finding a Lyme specialist is the best advice I can give.
Avatar n tn We live in the Cleveland/Akron area of Ohio. Thanks for any advice or referrals you can provide!
Avatar m tn With the little you have told us, it is impossible to reach any conclusion. All of us are at some risk of having a heart attack. Your question seems to be looking for a number. I don't think anyone can give you one, but I think it unlikely you will have a heart attack any time soon if you are able exercise and don't have any other warning symptoms. You may want to consider taking an aspirin a day (low/partial dose of full dose) to gain a small measure of protection.
Avatar m tn I am a 48 year old white male, and I have already had a total of 5 heart attacks (all within the last 5 tears). At first my doctoer thought it was due to my low HDL, as it has been lower that 28 for the last 5 years. But after my last attack, about 3 months ago, the doctors are now thinking that my body is trying to reject the 3 stents the have pkaced in me. This last attack was pretty serious, and we are planning to have a defibri;ator implanted later this month.
Avatar m tn I agree with that statement you are what you eat but the MAIN cause of heart attacks is not high cholesterol it's inflammation. What causes inflammation? SUGAR, GLUTEN, processed foods. Sugar is the main culprit.. the inflammation is the reason why people have heart attacks.. we are a fat phobic world when we shouldn't be and that is the problem right there. People who have good cholesterol are having heart attacks all the time..
Avatar f tn m 28 years old and pregnant 24 weeks along I also posted a similar question in the heart disease forum and I have recently been to my doctor and emergency room with complaints of chest tightness all the way up to my throat, shortness of breath, heart palpitations (fluttering) constant burping (bloating in my upper stomach) and the feeling that something is in the throat. I have also been feeling very weak and I should also add that I also suffer from anxiety and panic attacks as well.
199177 tn?1490498534 s never hit me or anything before although we have had physical struggles over a gun once (when he was in yet another of his depressed modes and I had to fight to get the gun from him and we ended up crashing into the entertainment center) So as you can see this is a repeating pattern with him and Im getting really scared. You hear about in the news all the time- a couple is having problems or splits up or whatever and the guy goes crazy and kills the whole family.
1491640 tn?1291234859 It could be your thyroid, adrenal glands, or a number of other things, but it does need to be evaluated. Too much adrenalin can cause fear because it is the "fight or flight" hormone that is released when we're facing danger. When it gets released when there is no danger, it can be very frightening. For those of us with anxiety or panic attacks, adrenalin is NOT our friend as it affects nearly every major system in our body.
