Avatar n tn Hi, I had a nuclear stress test, which I was kind of nervous about because I have negative reactions to so many medications. But I survived without incident and heart is fine. However, some of the radioactive tracer settled under my right arm in my right breast area and now I have to have another test(an ultrasound) my doctor frightened me a little because she said in the past when something like this happens to other patients of hers it turns out to be cancer.
Avatar n tn I had a false positive on my nuclear stress test. when I did my angiogram the nurse said up to 50% of nuclear stress tests are false positive. Great technology !
Avatar m tn I had a tread mill stress test and a nuclear stress test. Briefly, the results were: 1) reached 100% target heart rate, no chest pains, no arrhythmia 2) LVEF is 56% 3) moderate size inferior ischemia 4) ECG is positive for ischemia at a good workload (143 heart rate). I have formed a preliminary impression from my research on the Internet, but would appreciate feedback on the above 4 items. I havel scheduled a heart catherterization. Thank you.
Avatar n tn t agree on why I did so well on the stress test. Q. Can some one do this well on a stress test, ie 13.5 minutes and still have major heart problems? What's next?
Avatar m tn I assume that the two day treadmill test you had was a Nuclear Stress Test in which you were injected with a nuclear tracer at rest and at stress. These tests are 85% accurate and the chances of a false positive are much greater than the chance of a false negative, although they can happen. You will read about many people that had a normal nuclear stress test and then had a heart attack on the internet.
Avatar m tn I just completed a tread mill stress test and a nuclear stress test. Briefly, the results are: 1) attained 100% target heart rate, no chest pains, no arrhythmia 2) LVEF is 56% 3) Moderate size infereior ischemia 4.) ECG is positive for ischemia at good workload (reached heart rate of 143). I've formed a preliminary impression from my research on the Internet, but I would appreciate professional feedback. I am scheduled for a heart catheterization. Thank you.
Avatar m tn What were the results of the nuclear stress test? I believe, as just having one a couple of weeks ago, that the isotope clings to the areas where the blood flow is either sufficient or not sufficient ergo showing any dificiency in a particular area. Also have you had an echocardiogram? This test will show how your heart functions as a pump... The Seimens 64 is a GREAT test. Non-invasive, and used for diagnostic purposes.
Avatar f tn After going to ER with chest discomfort, they let me go diagnosing me with stress and anxiety.(my mom is very ill in another state). However, my family doctor ordered a nuclear stress test with Lexicon. I've had 2 in previous years, which ALONG with previous EKG's, have always shown same abnormality. THIS TIME, my results were told to me as "intermittent". What does this mean? I'm a 54 year old female, with chronic back pain due to a disabling car wreck 20 years ago.
Avatar m tn Every medical test has false negatives because neither humans nor machines operate with 100% accuracy. However you are in very serious jeopardy whenever you receive a false negative result on a Cardiolite stress tests. That's because of an astonishing fact about cardiologists in the U.
Avatar n tn Should a nuclear stress test be performed by a cardiologist? My father, who is 82, is scheduled to have basal thumb arthritis surgery on the 15th of Feb. His doctor of internal medicine wants to do a nuclear stress test to make sure his heart is strong enough to be subjected to general anesthesia. He has leaky valves. We are concerned that this may be a procedure that should be done by a specialist.
Avatar n tn My nuclear stress test results were as follows ver batim. I do not know what it means, are the results acceptable, good very good etc. What does this say about the blood flow to the heart muscle ? "injection of Myoview nuclear tracer & resting images obtained excercised on a treadmill for 5 min 34 sec. to 10.
Avatar m tn from there they sent me to get a nuclear stress test and that showed everything was fine, so my question is why did 2 out of 3 test were positive, should i believe that everything is fine...I am a 56 yr old woman...
212161 tn?1599427282 Overall, a nuclear stress test is about 85 - 90% accurate.Your chance of a cardiac event after a normal nuclear stress test is about 1.62% per year for the next 10 years, better than a sampling of the general public. Normally, a blockage will show up once it hits approx 70% occluded. I know you read about people that have a stress test that is normal and drop dead the next day, don't get too worked up about that.
Avatar m tn resently had a nuclear stress test done and have gotten a copy of my records but having difficult understanding results the left ventricular ejection fraction was 40% and regional wall motion pattern was mildly globally hypokinetic the left ventricular is also mildly dilated with end diastolic volume 134 ml and end systolic volume 80 ml also my health is i had a kidney removed for a tumor of 7cm but was contained in kidney have enlarged prostate taking medication for as well as thyroid meds beli
