Avatar f tn I plan on breastfeeding as well, even if it does not help me loose weight. It would just be a nice side effect. Your body has to burn calories to make milk for your baby. It has helped some women return to their pre pregnancy weight faster. But since it is good for your baby and could help Momma too, it is definitely worth a shot.
Avatar f tn My cousin was but her doctor told her she needs to stop because she is losing weight fast due to lack of nutrients but if you are gaining weight and not feeling weak you should be fine.

7989976 tn?1403493624 Losing weight is 80 percent diet and 20 percent exercise. I plan on losing a lot of weight ehen thr baby gets here... this isnt for everyone but I will be changing my life style to paleo dieting. Basically you can only eat meats and veggies no carbs. Look into it... but thsts not a good diet if u choose to breast feed... best of luck!
3360193 tn?1365871889 Yes I haven't given birth yet (due in 2 days - woohoo) , but any mommas out there who know any decent ways to lose baby weight after baby has been born? For the first 6 weeks I know I won't really be doing very much except my usual daily 4 mile walk with the dog (and the pram), and I'll also be breastfeeding. But I do wanna lose my baby weight and a little bit extra as well.
6520484 tn?1399082398 But I still have 20lbs of fat that I put on during the pregnancy. Just wondering if anyone had success in losing the baby weight? I could use some pointers. I already eat healthy and all I drink is water and milk, no juice or pop or anything. I'm too tired to exercise (with Two week old baby and all). Anyone do anything to lose the weight that really worked?

Avatar f tn Every time your baby eats, while breastfeeding, you burn five hundred calories. I didn't lose weight while breastfeeding, due to having hypothyroidism after being pregnant, but a lot of women do lose a lot of if not all their baby weight.
8762956 tn?1406304757 What losing weight pills can I take while breastfeeding ot what can I eat that will make me lose weight and my belly fat
199373 tn?1270487632 I gave birth 2 months ago, and I'm losing weight at a semi-slow pace (I'm breastfeeding so I cannot overdo it). I ordered an elliptical, and plan to workout on it for atleast 30 mins a day. I seem to be losing well in all places but my face and arms. Any advice on how to trim these two areas? Or should I just be patient?
Avatar n tn My first I started at 140 ended at 190 so 50lb weight gain only ever went down to 165. 6 years later with this one I started at 168 I went to 194 so 26lb weight gain now I'm 175 and I'm 12 weeks post pardum and I am breastfeeding. I lost the first 19 lbs in the first 2 weeks so 10 weeks now and haven't lost an ounce.
1715474 tn?1318189449 ] Second, like the previous poster said, losing weight while pregnant is harmful to the baby because as you get rid of the fat deposits, toxins are released into the body being harmful to the baby. What you can do is just make wise eating choices. I was overweight when I became pregnant and since I was very scared of getting much bigger I cut out all soda and juices, sugary sweets and chips, and it helped.
Avatar f tn Things that affect our period: changes in routine, illness, stress, gaining or losing weight, new exercise routines, thyroid issues, a blip out of nowhere with our hormones. All normal and most women have occasional long cycles or missing periods.
2188958 tn?1346444891 I think that was the key to me losing weight, bc as soon as I stopped nursing gained the weight back. My second it took about 6 months to get to my pre-pregnancy weight, and again I stayed skinny until I stopped breastfeeding, then I gained about 15 lbs. With this pregnancy I am much older, and I have gained so much weight already that I doubt I will lose it all very quickly, if at all :/ I plan to work out if I can this time.
Avatar f tn You don't feel sick, dizzy, weak or high. You do feel hungry. If you sit a whole lot, you will gain weight when breastfeeding, not because of the breastfeeding but because you are being inactive. But if you keep to your usual schedule where physical activity is concerned, you won't gain weight. Some women do lose a lot of weight while breastfeeding. Breastfeeding was one of the most fun things about my early motherhood, the baby and I got so close.
Avatar f tn Are you planning on breastfeeding? I was 134 before pregnancy and I'm 172 now.
Avatar f tn It would be wrong to advise on proper diet to someone who is, first, breastfeeding, and second, apparently losing lots of weight for no apparent reason. After you see a doctor, I'd advise seeing a holistic nutritionist. Congratulations on your new addition.
Avatar f tn First if your body is not getting enough foods it can easily go into starvation mode and decide to hold or even gain weight. 1200 calories seems very low, especially given how much you exercise. So maybe you should keep your food around 1300 at minimum? It's hard to know the "sweet" spot that will keep your body healthy while loosing weight, but if you don't find it you will have a really hard time loosing weight.
3156883 tn?1359463777 Just one word of caution eating too much rich food or junk can be bad while breastfeeding as it can cause issues for baby tummy. My baby is 4 wks and has problems when I eat too much acid like tomatoes. But I weigh less now than I did before I was pregnant!
3158442 tn?1344311653 I know breast pumping/feeding is a great way to lose the post partum weight, I pumped for 2 weeks after I had my first baby last year, but I have decided not to this time, I don't have time to with a one year and a newborn lol but I have more weight on me than I did after my first so now I'm worried about not losing it as quickly or it staying and more weight adding on, so I'm wondering if I could try to start pumping a little here and there, its been 2 weeks today since I delivered
Avatar f tn I don't have a problem losing weight, I just have a problem with losing weight. Like I can't seem to gain any weight at all. Before I got pregnant I weighed 145, by the time I had him, in April 2013, I weighed 173. I breastfeed and two weeks after having him I was down to 155, then two weeks after that was down to 146. And now that I'm not breastfeeding, I'm still constantly losing weight. I can't seem to stop.
