Normal weight variation in a day

Common Questions and Answers about Normal weight variation in a day

Avatar m tn I don't weight myself. Ever. You can tell if you're gaining weight by looking at yourself and whether your clothes are getting tighter or not. Weighing yourself on a chronic basis is an obsession -- the scale can't change your weight any. Now, weight issues haven't been a big part of my life except when I've been injured or from medication, and you probably have different issues.
90502 tn?1196367605 Where did you get the Idea that hep-c was a death sentence? The odds are you will live a normal life spam with the virus. You may die with some liver damage but so what. I believe this over reaction is caused by the drug companys and their need to sell drugs. There is a reason the Gov and AMA don't put the serious of the virus at the same level the drug companys do. Live the best liver safe lifestyle as possible and you will be fine.
10389360 tn?1410827568 If your Dr hasn't told you to watch your weight then you are doing great. A lot of women's weight seems to level off at the end of the third trimester too. You'll be back to your original weight in no time!
Avatar n tn But, Oct 2004 despite my levels being within the normal range, my weight began to rocket. In one year I have gained 42lbs all on my abdomen. I have the appearance of being pregnant but I certainly am not. I must state that I am no couch potato and I am extremely aware of what I eat and I exercise regularly. I have plenty of fresh veg, chicken and fish, homemade veg soup and salads, no alcohol, no cakes or cookies. As you can imagine I am not a happy bunny.
Avatar m tn Same for the pulse rate, sometimes it’s so low that I think I will faint and sometimes I entering into superventricular tachycardia who last 2-3 hours in a row with a pulse of 160 and more… I ask this cause last week I had a holter monitor 24 hours to record my heart and the pulse rate cause I have superventricular tachycardia almost everyday since 1 month and strangely, the 24 hours I wear the holter monitor, I was able to do a lot of physical tasks and had NO chest pain at all, had no tachy
Avatar f tn I really don't know what I'm doing wrong but my weight just won't go any lower than 219. I gained a lot of weight in the 10th grade really suddenly and I went from 175 up to 250 within a year. I lost 40 pounds in two years by exercising 5 out of 7 days a week (though I've now gained 10 back) and that was without dieting! I don't know what I'm doing wrong this time around. Someone help?
Avatar n tn Hi, the concept of body frame is better understandable when we talk about body mass index. BMI is calculated by dividing the weight in kilograms by height in meter squares. The normal body mass index is between 20 to 24.9. For that, considering your height your body weight ideally should be between 50 to 60 kg. I hope this helps.
Avatar n tn In fact i saw a (specialist) who gave me an appointment for a thyroid test in a month and a half and another appointment to see him with the results in 2 1/2 months. He told me i need to take my pills and wait for an hour b4 i can eat anything, which is good coz i didn't know i had to do that and so my body won't benifit from the medication, he said.Thank you so much for taking it seriously dear.
Avatar f tn it happens, i lost weight and then gained a HUGE amount in one month, then in the next month gained only 4 pounds, i think you see variation from month to month so its nothing to be alarmed about. I know from the pregnancy books i read that there are certain months when the baby will double in size fairly quickly so that could explain weight gain too. For me, it was that i got my appetite back after 4 months of having none and i ate everything in sight!
Avatar m tn And of course you have a weight variation from day to day. You don't eat the same things in the same quantity every day so a 0.6 kg variation is absolutely normal. Some people have 1kg weight fluctuations every day. As for the coloscopy and gastroscopy, isn't it a bit overkilled for 5 little kgs?? If you think you have hypochondria, then go see a doctor and get a treatment for it...
Avatar n tn SO, I am off of the Beta blocker now and just took my last Lasix with only 5 lbs of water weight down. I have gained 15lbs in a span of 7 weeks since my heart attack. I have went from a size 8 to size 12. Is there anything I can do in addition to my cardic rehab program , weight watchers etc. Herbal supplements anything. Please help us out. If anyone knows anything.
Avatar n tn We build lean body muscle mass which weight more than fat so the scale reflects no weight loss when in fact the body is trimming down fat. The tape measure will measure loss of inches and your clothes will start to feel looser. As far as food goes, recommend a Heart Healthy diet which is a moderate fat diet. You need approximately 2400 calories a day for your age/height.
205009 tn?1218563328 It is also in part because of commercial statements made by the producer of other drugs claiming that Armour, as it is from a natural source, has too much variation in potency to be effective. The majority of these arguments have no basis, and the majority of studies have found Armour to be just as effective as other medications. Patients and doctors simply have to work together to find the dosage and medication that relieves the patient's symptoms and reduces the risk of long-term disease.
Avatar m tn And I would walk long distances daily, often with a 30lb pack. Suddenly that stubborn weight melted away in a mere two weeks. I lost more than a pound a day! (I know, "that's not safe" etc) And again, strangely, that low carb boot camp thing I went through seems to have reset my clock. As I mentioned previously, I'm back to my old "carby ways" and haven't really been that religiously exercising - and yet the weight's staying off with no problems.
1666434 tn?1325265950 Neck Discomfort/Enlargement. A feeling of swelling in the neck, discomfort with turtlenecks or neckties, a hoarse voice or a visibly enlarged thyroid can all be symptoms of thyroid disease. To help find out if your thyroid may be enlarged, try a simple "Thyroid Neck Check" test at home. 8. Hair/Skin Changes. Hair and skin are particularly vulnerable to thyroid conditions, and in particular, hair loss is frequently associated with thyroid problems.
Avatar n tn After the stress subsided I quit my Wellbutrin and within a week I started gaining weight like crazy. I started weighing myself and in several days it was a half a pound a day! Today the lightbulb went on and I decided to look up what affect Wellbutrin might have on weight loss/gain. I'm not depressed so I don't want to take it for depression but I am so alarmed at this weight gain that I think I will go back and finish off my bottle until I figure it out.
Avatar m tn I have been dealing with hypothyroid symptoms for a few years on and off but most recently it has been constant.... (20+ weight gain in 2 months, tired, high cholesterol, irregular frequent periods, low blood pressure, unregulated body temperature, allergy symptoms not relieved with meds, memory loss, etc) I went for a physical and had my dr. order thyroid test and the results came back "in normal range" ... they did not give me the ranges but my results were T4 1.03 and TSH 2.
Avatar f tn My boy was at 75% for weight at 4 months old and now he is only at 60% at 6 months old (and 95% in height), he still gets a lot of breastmilk but also a bit more formula. I have noticed that the color of my milk is not the same for my 2 boobs! Weird!! The right one, which is the one that always has the less milk, had also the clearer milk - always. If you are worried, you can add a bottle of formula to his diet, given after a session of breastfeeding.
Avatar n tn This is especially true in children. A rectal temperature up to 100.4°F (38°C) may be entirely normal. A rectal temperature of 100.5°F or above should always be considered a fever. Lower temperatures might also be a fever, depending on the person. Fever is not an illness. Far from being an enemy, it is an important part of the body's defense against infection. Many infants and children develop high fevers with minor viral illnesses.
Avatar n tn I also take Humalin twice a day. Once in the am and once in the pm. I have had a hard time losing weight since I have had to take the insulin. Insulin will make you retain weight. The best thing that I have done to lose weight is to eat every 2 hours. Eat a good breakfast and supper with a small lunch and a small snack in between. Since I have done this regimen, my sugar levels are more steady and I have been able to lose weight. You will gain a little in the first week.
Avatar f tn org/epidemic-hypothyroidism-1 “Due to the lack of correlation of TSH and tissue thyroid levels, as discussed, a normal TSH should not be used as the sole reason to withholdL treatment in a symptomatic patient.”…….Consequently, serum T4 levels oftentimes do not correlate with tissue T3 levels and, as with the TSH, the serum T4 level is often misleading and an unreliable marker of the body’s overall thyroid status.” Thomas Najarian, MD and Carol N. Rowsemitt, PHD, Rn FNP WWW.
Avatar f tn 1) my PCP and I are going to come to blows (exagerating) and 2) that I'm in a vicious circle, because atenolol increases the need for thyroid hormone, which, in turn, causes more tachycardia and increases the need for atenolol. I see this all reaching a logical absurdity, where I'm taking the max dose of atenolol, my labs are still not right, and my PCP still sends me the same cryptic note after labs - "need more thyroid" (that is a direct quote, by the way).
Avatar n tn Can the beta-blockers be making it worse? I doubt. The problem is there is often a daily or weekly variation in the number of PVCs. If you stopped your beta blocker, a decrease in the number of PVCs may only be a chance finding and would not prove they are “causing” PVCs. I would continue the 25 mg for a couple months and see if your fatigue improves after you been on the beta blocker for a while. 3. What can I do to find a definitive answer w/o going thru invasive procedures?
Avatar n tn I would think about going along with your doc and waiting for the newer drugs, or if you really feel you want to treat now, perhaps enrolling in a Teleprevir trial for prior non-responders. I understand that going up a stage in 3 years may have you concerned. But have you really gone up a stage? Absolute sample size, relative sample size and pathologist bias can offer make a difference of 1-2 stages.
Avatar m tn ) I had been sleeping poorly in the nights leading up to it. Below is a link to a screenshot of the difference between the two dates. Note especially the change in TSH (1.05 vs. 4.31) and TPO Ab (0.5 vs. 9). The rest remain similar. Also worth noting: The two times prior to this my TSH was tested (March 2014 and June 2013), my TSH levels were 1.3 and 2.1, respectively. What might be the cause of this variance?
Avatar n tn There are transient causes of increase in TSH - this is why I repeat in 6 weeks to document a trend -- unless a patient is very symptomatic and treatment cannot be delayed. I would document thyroid antibodies (against TPO and Tg) as an immune system attack on the thyroid is the most common cause of hypo in North America. The uptake/scan was probably not necessary and the normal results don't add anything to your clinical scenario.
Avatar dr m tn Some will have undiagnosed sleep apnea, but many will have instead something called upper airway resistance syndrome. This is a variation or precursor to sleep apnea where the length of time of each breathing pause is not long enough to be called an apnea. Because of the multiple pauses in breathing in deep sleep, a low-grade stress response is created which causes the insomniac’s mind to race or think about stress-related issues before going to bed.
Avatar m tn I was exercising regularly (walking miles per day) and stayed in a house with no pets. I drank heavily and ate a lot of crap (maybe that's the way forward ; ) Again, I make no conclusions, but this is my story.
Avatar n tn After going back to the GP after having my Echo results they said everything was normal and to have a check up in 5 years. I told her my concerns about my blood pressure / pulse pressure but she said she has never heard the term pulse pressure and the difference between them is irrelavant. Is it worth me going to see another GP to get another opinion?
