Avatar m tn I don't weight myself. Ever. You can tell if you're gaining weight by looking at yourself and whether your clothes are getting tighter or not. Weighing yourself on a chronic basis is an obsession -- the scale can't change your weight any. Now, weight issues haven't been a big part of my life except when I've been injured or from medication, and you probably have different issues.
Avatar m tn Why is there some couple of pound variation between weight taken first thing in the morning and later in the day even if no food or drink is consumed ?
Avatar m tn How much can TSH vary in a person from day to day? I had a TSH of 1.24 one day, and 0.42 a few days later. My doctor is trying to tell me that is fine and normal. That seems like a terribly large shift in such a short time. Also she said even with 0.42, I'm still in range. My symptoms also match hyperthyroidism...
Avatar m tn Hi, I think most people would be happy to have lost 5kg! To answer your question, no I don't see why you should be worried, being 74kg why would you be? It's not dangerous for your health or anything... When you start losing 20kg in 6 months like it happened to a friend of mine, then yes you can start being worried. Honestly, stop overdoing it, don't weight yourself every day, it's just bad.
554049 tn?1216005362 t know if there is any variation in the interpretation in the EF from a nuclear stress test or stress echo, but I know there is some variation in interpreting a standard echocardiogram (5% +/-). The fact that you are symptomatic could be a result of deconditioning. If the symptoms persist despite your new exercise program, be sure to let your doctor know.
1532503 tn?1321323112 Most doctors will consider any increase in E2 a positive sign, but others use a formula of either 100 pg/ml after 4 days of stims, or a doubling in E2 from the level taken on cycle day 3. Since your numbers went up above 100 on day 5, you're pretty close...so I wouldn't worry too much about it. I hope everything looks good tomorrow! Best of luck with everything!

Avatar f tn t go any lower than 219. I gained a lot of weight in the 10th grade really suddenly and I went from 175 up to 250 within a year. I lost 40 pounds in two years by exercising 5 out of 7 days a week (though I've now gained 10 back) and that was without dieting! I don't know what I'm doing wrong this time around. Someone help?
Avatar m tn For your age, the heart rates you report are within normal limits. As to whether that degree of variation within a day is normal for you, that's something you need to discuss with your personal physician I'm afraid. Sorry I can't be of more help to you.
Avatar n tn Can you tell me if this is a normal variation? If so then you have your answer. My answer will be limited because I won't actually be able to review the EKG, only your own doctor's interpretation. If you have any questions ask the doctor who performed the EKG, and if he can't answer it then ask for a cardiologist referral.
Avatar m tn I didn't really know where to post this. Perhaps someone here can help. This is a kind of odd phenomenon I've noticed recently. Before February of this year, my resting heart rate has always been consistently in the 60's. (I've been walking, biking, running, etc. even since I was very young). I'm 15 now, an have noticed an increase in my heart rate that seems out of place. I've still been exercising the same way and eating right.
475489 tn?1223948282 Hello, Babies positioning can change throughout the pregnancy. The position of the baby around 36 weeks is usually where they will stay. The suggestion that your baby was "low" is meaningless and not something you should worry about. All fetal measurements are an estimation. The earlier a fetal ultrasound the more accurate the estimated age. As babies advances in age there is more variation from baby to baby and the measurements are less reliable.

Avatar f tn Your labia are normal! Not all labia are smooth. In fact, a lot have bumps. The bumps can be skin, papillae, fordyce spots, or just normal variation. The edges can be jagged due to the bumps. It is normal. No two labia look the same. Our labia can have different textures (smooth, or bumpy), different edges (smooth or jagged), different colors (purple, pink, brown, black, nude, etc.), different sizes (3/4-4 inches), and all around look different.
Avatar n tn Several studies have been done to determine what is anormalvariation between right and left arm. In general, any difference of 10 mm Hg or less is considered normal and not a cause for concern. American Heart Association: "The fact that there are differences in right and left arm readings emphasizes the importance of measuring blood pressure in both arms initially to prevent the misdiagnosis of high blood pressure.
Avatar m tn Yes, smoking can reduce the sperm count and density of semen, however this is usually seen in chronic smokers. So, if you feel a change, then it could be just a normal variation of semen consistency. However, if the symptoms persist, please consult a doctor immediately.
1295419 tn?1276822872 I had a BNP reading of 425 at 5 days postpartum (which my OB said that pregnancy/pre-e can raise this number) and yesterday had it re-drawn and it was down to a 7. Would this signify that my diastolic function is in fact going back to normal as my cardiologist mentioned? I also talked to my cardiologist again to voice my concerns and he said he personally looked at my echo's and did not see the dysfunction and that I had nothing to worry about.
Avatar f tn While this is going on, you can get a lot of variation in the output of thyroid hormone, along with a gradual decrease in thyroid hormone output over time, as the glands are destroyed. In my opinion, just monitoring without any treatment will only assure that you have lots of hypo symptoms until the doctor decides to medicate you.
Avatar f tn And it is understood there are broad ranges of aortic diameters sometimes listed as the normal size of the aorta spans a large variation of body sizes in the population and may be misleading regarding a given individual. It is important that every effort is made to determine the normal aortic diameter for each individual in order to detect the early stages of aortic expansion due to underlying aortic disease.
Avatar m tn Basically what they do is estimate how much blood is in the left ventricle just before it squeezes to push it out into the body. They then wait until the blood has been squeezed out and measure whats left (not every drop is ever squeezed out). If you subtract the remainder from what you had at the beginning, you get the amount of blood that the heart ejected out of the chamber. This is then turned into a percentage. Normal is around 55%-70%. So 56% is within limits.
Avatar m tn I have had high BP in the past (moderate, not very high) and also elevated cholesterol (total close to fine, but not a great ratio of good/bad) and very normal weight. Overall fit, good stamina. My doc advised me to be on BP and Statin drugs as pre-emptive therapy. My #'s have been great for years. Back to the annual work up: he's been doing the echo to measure my heart- primarily LV (filled) size which I understand to be a good early indicator of an emerging CM.
Avatar f tn is there a way to time the meds and the shots in order to minimize the side effects or to have them kick in when you are not doing something important, like meeting with other people?
Avatar n tn I had a double mastecomy, high grade dcis (12 cm in the left breast) and a small area of lcis in the right breast. There was no spread or invasive component so I was fortunate to not have to have chemo or radiation. I am however on tamoxifen for 5 yrs. Because my sister and I both had bc, we were recommended to have the BRCA test done. My sister chose not to have it done. I had it done in 2010, the results here in Canada take one year to come in.
