Avatar f tn Hi! There can be wide variation in weight as per height and age depending on where you live and your ethnic background. However, a weight around 125 pounds would be ideal. You can however try to maintain a weight below 130 pounds to remain in the BMI range of normal weight. So, roughly you need to lose about 40 pounds. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.

Avatar n tn Adrenarche is what you are talking about, the adrenal gland kicks in a little earlier than normal giving us some expression of normal but annoying male hormones causing body odor, pubertal hair growth and some advancement of bone maturity, however, obesity itself can advance the bones as well and I would seriously look at the weight to be sure that the weight is controlled well, rapid weight gain and increased insulin production can also stimulate bone maturation and also adrenarche is influenc
Avatar f tn I'd think it's a bit unusual for someone your age to have that done unless it was for a job physical or something like that. While you indicated your age, you left out some things that would help form an opinion, and that's what they are here, just opinions. You physical conditioning, and you weight would have a bearing on how you did on the stress test. These tests by the way usually the standard Bruce Protocol tests. So the one administered to you is the same on administered to me.
Avatar n tn He said he would and told me to also try cranberry juice or cranberry capsules. He prescribed Macro-bid for 5 days....2 per day. Around day 3 of the Macro-bid, I felt SOME relief and thought "Hey, I'm getting better." No such luck. My conditioned worsened. I was literally having to run to the bathroom every 2 minutes....and everytime I went to the bathroom, I did in fact urinate...sometimes a lot, sometimes just a little, but always some.

Avatar n tn normally a female will go into menapause around the same age as there mother. Sometimes for some reason some woman go through it earlier than normal, but if you just had a check up five months ago and your tests came out normal, then I would tend to say it isn't menopause. It is normal every once in awhile to have an earlier or skip a cycle. Depending on how you life is going this could have a factor on that. Have you been under stress lately, or just coming off or on BC pills.
Avatar n tn His weight is on the 50th percentile and his height is below the 3rd percentile for his age. Due to his height he appears heavier; however, his weight is normal. For his age he needs approximately 1800 – 2000 calories a day to grow. It is recommend increasing children's physical activities (play, dance, sports) to lose weight, and not lower calorie intake due to the need of calories for growth. Limit time in front of the TV or non-active-video games.
Avatar f tn Her weight is just below the 50th percentile and her height is just above the 25th percentile for her age. She is normal for her age. That is good you are giving her Pediasure, however, give it to her in place of milk. Try milkshakes (milk and ice cream blended) or yogurt smoothies (yogurt, frozen fruit, and ice cream blended) which is cheaper than Pediasure. To ‘broaden her tastes’ is to engage her in the kitchen more. Children love to be a part of making food.

You may have been more active and lost weight even though you seemed to eat more. A 17 year old needs 2200 calories per day.
Avatar n tn I never had unintentional weight loss until very recently, just a few pounds, which I'm not complaining about, as I haven't been able to stop myself my eating like a pig this past year and ended up gaining weight. Two years ago I was normal weight. My blood pressure has been up just this past year, but my PCP hasn't prescribed anything. I've been 160/100 to 150/90-something. My mother died at age 69 from a ruptured thoracic aneurysm. Should I ask for a referal to an endocrinologist?

Avatar n tn I had angioplaty in April 2006 for a 99 pct blockage at age 38. I am on 40 MG Lipitor, 75 MG Plavix and 81 MG asprin daily (plus I take the fish pills, although they have not had an impact on my cholesterol). I have always had good blood pressure. Last check was 118/80 and I have a low resting pulse, often under 60. I have terrible family heart history -- early heart attacks and premature death in men on both sides. Yet, I have generally been healthy in life.

689678 tn?1227301964 Not being able to work off those calories causes the weight gain; middle age also tends to be a factor in weight. You expressed lots of stress...are you an emotional eater? Some with anxiety will eat because it makes them feel better.
967045 tn?1378403273 Okay - I have the same story - 2 years ago I had a back injury. Herniated disc, severe arthritis - went from OTC tyenol to morphine in a week. Nothing helped - then I got the Norco. I was taking 2-3 a day for a year - then actually read the bottle & it said take 1-2 . . .so I started taking 2 at a time - up to 8 per day. Last week my PCP was out of town & my script wasn't filled. I freaked!! I had my hubsand freaking out too!! He is retired and didn't know what was going on.

Avatar m tn I was recently becoming worried about my gradual constant weight gain and so i tried calorie counting and realised i eat about 1,500-1,600 calories per day. I was confused as i did not think i would be gaining weight eating this amount, despite my sedentary lifestyle. The doctors tested my thyroid and said it was normal. So the question is, what do i need to do to get back to my ideal weight?
Avatar m tn If you work on toning up your body with weights and yoga to build up lean body muscle then you will gain weight (muscle weight more than fat) and muscle. For your age you need about 2900 calories per day. Eat 3 meals a day with snacks between meals and healthy variety of foods from all the food groups. Hoped this helped you.
