Avatar f tn I am concerned about my fertility as my partner and i are hoping to start a family (once my weight is in the normal healthy range). Could my issues be down to a hormone imbalance? What can i do to get my periods regular again and increase my fertility? Am i not ovulating currently? Anyone else experienced this? Freaking out!
Avatar f tn Whether or not you're obese, depends on your age, as well as your height and weight. If you have a large frame (bone size) you might be able to carry more weight and not look fat to other people. You might also have a distorted view of your body.
Avatar f tn I thought this was an important topic to discuss as I really am interested to know how other women who are not of an healthy weight are coping. ALL the possible complications, and just needed to talk about the experience.
Avatar f tn I'm 6ft and my current weight at 37 weeks is 414...anyone else consider obese while pregnant? If so are you having any complications?
Avatar f tn I never even thought of weight being my issue for ny epidural. I am over weight. My epi wore off with my 2nd.
1844722 tn?1318889258 I think for your height your ideal weight would be a range up to 140lbs which is about 10 stone. You wouldn't be considered obese, but probably overweight by a bit. What's more important than the number is your overall health and it seems like you get exercise which is really good. I'm concerned about your eating though. You are not eating nearly enough for someone your age. What worries me more is the angry voice in your head.
Avatar n tn one South African study showed that up to 84% of pregnant women have some kind of food craving. It does not mean you are a food addict if you are wolfing down sugars uncontrollably. It is an example of how hormones can strongly dictate appetite. Typical foods that pregnant (and premenstrual) women share are chocolate, pizza, cheese, even ice, and in some cases mud or dirt or cigarette butts.
Avatar f tn Your normal weight is 158-110= 48kg :)
Avatar f tn Hello I am a 33 year old female. I am 5'8" and weight 260 pounds. Lately my resting heart rate has been around 64-68bpm. Its goes up and down through the day sometimes going as high as 125bpm after running up the stairs. I do not get much exercise. Just a few weeks ago my resting heart rate seemed to be around 76-82bpm. What I am wondering is does it mean I have a blockage if my rate is 64bpm or could it also be normal?
Avatar f tn I am an obese 33 year old woman. My heart rate changes through the day anywhere from 64bpm to 96bpm but mostly stays around 76bpm. But when I get up in the morning and most the morning my heart rate is around 64-68 bpm. I think that's pretty low for someone whos obese. Does this mean I have a blockage? I am worried theres a blackage because I have a low pulse rate. Is it normal for someone of my size to have a bpm of 64? I don't not get any exercise.
Avatar m tn The disease is most common in overweight children with belly fat and certain warning signs, such as diabetes or cholesterol or heart problems. However, it's been seen in a few children of normal weight. Genetics, diet and exercise level all play a role. It is most prevalent among Hispanics, relatively rare among African-Americans, and more common among boys than girls.
Avatar f tn He's been having weight problems his whole life always having ups and downs but now for about 2 years his weight has been increasing massively. We can't be intimate anymore, I can't get on top (I'm not petite, I'm tall but weigh about 145lbs) and when he's on top he can't do anything because of his stomach and thighs. His penis has disappeared completely. I've tried telling him this politely and gently and he's tried going on various diets but nothing seems to help.
Avatar f tn Of course you're supposed to gain weight.
Avatar n tn The BMI calculations is good for a lot, and many use this to say if someone is over weight or obese. Using it alone, you would probably be considered overweight. BUT it doesn't work well for everyone and fat percentage (how much muscle to fat you have) need to be taken into account. I would go with what your doctors are telling you on this one. Mine had no hesitation to tell me at 10 that I needed to start loosing weight and eat better. That's a hard thing to tell a kid, but it's their job.
505907 tn?1258372940 I was physically active, muscular, broad shouldered, and carried extra womanly weight but obese? Haven't the standards for this scary term been adjusted? Also is it our condition or our meds that are moost to blame? Thanks.
Avatar f tn I too have same problem, My son has been obese for many years, and with several weight related health problem, loss of employment, angry wife, angry in-laws and etc.. I have talk with him and encourage him to know that I do not want to loose him. At this moment he is sick and unable to work. I am afraid that I will loose him. He will try to eat right but he health is so poor, he does not get a chance to work on his weight due to not feeling well.
Avatar f tn I desperately need to lose weight and I have severe arthritis/bursitis throughout my body limiting my ability to exercise. My craving for sweets occupies my mind when I try to eliminate them and I am not satisfied when I eat them. Similar to an alcoholic. I am tired all the time, have fibromyalgia and extreme allergies to perfume, cologne, smoke and chemicals to name a few. I don't eat a lot of food but I don't eat very healthy at times either.
2028721 tn?1356685603 The BMI that I use placed you into 29.5 BMI range which is obese; you would be under 25 BMI which is considered "normal" at 175lbs. However BMI is only so good, it calculates an average and doesn't take into account the very muscular. So for an example Arnold Schwarzenegger would be obese; his amount of muscles make BMI unreliable. I suggest you have a talk with your Dr and ask if you need to loose more weight.
1266083 tn?1358567662 The doctor said she only wanted me to gain no more than 15 lbs during my pregnancy. Is that normal? I mean, I know I'm overweight but only 15 lbs. She said it's good that I've been losing weight and eating healthier. She says that the foods I eat are coming to my body (even if I'm not eating a lot) and that my "fat stores" and nutrients are going to the baby. I asked her if I was getting any nutrients and she said "yes, some. But the baby gets it off of you.
Avatar n tn However, that is only because I started out barely normal weight. 30 pounds in under 2 years without cause is a lot of weight. I don't have any kids and we're worried about what will happen when we do have a family. Could you please give me some more information. I think I will mention this to my dietician, she seems to be my best ally with the medical community. They seem to need to hear her tell them that I am not gorging myself.
Avatar f tn Im not that much over weight though I weigh 155 and im 5f 6inch. My sis has it as well and she has a normal cycle every month and has had problems with cysts. She got pregnate on her own without even trying. PCOS affects everyone different. I have been trying for about 7 months now. If you dont ovualate like me you should go see your doctor and they will probably put you on metformin, provera and maybe clomid.
485620 tn?1208683839 The study involved thirty-three obese participants, twenty overweight, and 115 normal-weight children. Researchers used imaging techniques that showed the activity of the heart`s muscular wall. The changes of the heart muscle motion were compared to the normal motion rate after they were averaged within each group. In case of obese participants, the more the BMIA increases, the more alternation in the relaxation and contraction phase is noticed.
Avatar f tn Underweight: less than 18.5 Normal weight: 18.5 - 25 Overweight: 25 - 30 Obesity: greater than 30 By these standards, the OP, though only 16, is actually thin, just barely into the normal range. Hypertension can definitely be inherited. One of my friends, though healthy and normal weight, had it when he was 18. His daughter developed it when she was 18. Both are on lifelong treatment for it.
Avatar m tn The Weight Tracker Stats uses BMI alone to determine what weight range a person is in. However, although BMI is accurate for some people, it is not accurate for everyone. Therefore, I suggest using other indicators as well, such as Body Fat Percentage, Waist to Height Ratio, Waist to Hip Ratio, and Waist to Chest Ratio. I also suggest allowing users to choose one or more of these to display in the Weight Tracker Stats. The following categories for each can be found at
