The old fat and the tummy fat, upper body fat will be the last to burn, continue exercising and do regular cardio and your upper body finally would be proportional to your legs. Avatar m tn In other words two people could lose the same amount of weight but one might have bad lipids (high cholesterol, high triglicerides, etc) and the other could have good lipids. I assume the one with the good lipids will end up reducing their fatty liver more than the one with the bad lipids even though weight loss is identical.
Avatar f tn I stopped the pills because I suddenly started having really high blood pressure peaks. The bp is normal again after stopping. I have had no menopause symptoms since stopping the pills. I even had obvious signs that my body is producing estrogen, such as fertle mucous, increased energy, etc. In the last 7 days I have had cramping, extreme hunger and spotting, which is now becoming heavier like a period. Avatar f tn I don't smoke, don't do drugs, my health is fine (tested thyroid etc, all is well and normal) My body composition says I am 44% body fat, which seems high as I have a lot of visible muscle and am very toned except for a thick patch of fat in the dead center of my abdomen. The areas around it look fat free and are very toned by comparison. I have tried a number of calorie intakes and none help - 900-1600 I gained weight quickly and felt terrible all the time.

Stick to a high-animal-fat diet - watch the weight fall off, watch your energy levels improve, watch your appetite become suppressed, watch your endurance improve. I became convinced a decade ago. For 10 years, I've eaten nothing but animal products - 80% fat, 20% protein. I'm slim, healthy, and trim. I work out a couple of hours every day. But it takes guts to get past the dogma, to step outside the mainstream.
Avatar m tn It also depends on what you are eating. If you are eating a lot of high fat, high sugar foods, you could be headed for trouble. You might try implementing the food diary here on Med Help. You can track your food intake throughout the day and it will tally the calories/nutrient value of what you ate/drank to let you know if there are areas that you might need to cut back on (fat or simple carbs) or areas that you might need to increase (protein, fiber, dairy).

I have tried all kinds of meds. with every side effect they offer. Lipitor, Zetia, Lovastatin and am now on Tricor. Basal temp - if still to low is an indicator of weight gain too. I had to increase my internal temp to burn fat. For me I went to iodine to help me with this.

Avatar n tn I eat significantly more unsaturated fats than saturated fats, my diet largely consisting of various whole grains, peanut butter, etc; it's a relatively high protein diet. I know that saturated fat is considered "bad," but I'm not sure just how much I should limit. I tend to judge based on the Daily Value. For instance, is brushing 100% for saturated fat a bad thing, or what? Keep in mind, I'm also trying to gain weight. Another concern: My cholesterol two months ago was 181.

Avatar m tn That makes perfect sense if when you gain weight you do it by eating foods high in fat, then cut fat when you diet and lose weight. But the question still remains... Why do you have elevated enzymes when you put on weight, and millions of others put on weight without adverse liver reaction? What is the underlying cause that makes reaction in your physiology different? Is it compromised bile ducts, faulty liver function, problems with your gallbladder or pancreas?
