Common Questions and Answers about Normal weight gain during pregnancy

weight

Avatar f tn This way you increase to the recommended weight gain of 25-35lbs but not gain 100+lbs. Exercising during your pregnancy would help keep your body toned, too. Hoped this helped you.
Avatar n tn So I'm142lbs and in my 27th week. Is that normal/good to be that weight? I feel as if I shouldn't weigh that much yet.
Avatar n tn m losing weight. Is it normal to be losing weight instead of gaining weight? This is my first pregnancy an Im scared something is wrong.
Avatar f tn Is it just me or was that a rude comment? Your already ahead of the game in the weight gain department! How do you know know that? She could be tall and slim and weigh that or be extremely fit and pure mussel. It is very normal to lose weight in the start. I wouldn't worry to much about weight gain unless you are gaining extreme amounts all at once. If baby is healthy that's all that matters. Your Dr will let you know if it's an issue or not.
Avatar f tn Today I had my weekly apoitment since I'm 36+ weeks already and I lost 6pounds on top of the 3 I didn't gain this week ! Is it normal to loose weight during the last month of pregnancy ? My doctor didn't really say much but " oh you lost weight " nothing else ?
Avatar f tn This also depends on your pre preg weight. If you were under weight you should gain about 30. Normal weight about 25 and over weight about 20. Gaining 80 is dangerous tho and they should not be a doc lol. Gaining 40 is excessive even but many women do.
Avatar f tn Actually it is not normal to gain that much at 6 months. It is normal to gain 10-15 pounds total during pregnancy. Eating right and exercising has to become a priority. When we are pregnant our body starts storing food for breast feeding purposes so picking good food is important. I have gained 5 pounds in 3 months and my doctor had a talk with me about future weight gain.
991222 tn?1333990733 and \dont forget your protiens, lean meat is best bc you want to keep in mind, weight gain, doctors dont like when women esp. if someone is overweight gain weight................. if your as thin as a toothpick then yes 30 lbs is recommended, for example when i get prego, i shouldnt gain any more then 10lbs. bc im around 138lb now, i was 113lb b4 my first child.
Avatar f tn You probably gained mostly water weight In the beginning and now are starting to lose it....its normal to lose weight during the first trimester and most women lose at least a few pounds, but others will gain more In the beginning and less later on! Just try to remember that the baby needs no more than 300calories a day and that's actually not until the 2nd and 3rd trimester, during the 1st you don't need any extra calories per day!!
Avatar f tn Congratulations on your pregnancy! A pregnant mother only needs about 300 extra calories a day throughout her pregnancy. Ask your OB Dr about good food choices and also about exercise. You should be able to walk throughout your pregnancy which will keep your weight at a healthy level. If I'm not mistaken, the normal weight gain is between 20 and 30 lbs during pregnancy. Some women have a little more and some have a little less. Again, ask your OB what normal is.
1004712 tn?1263393948 There are recommended ranges for weight gain during pregnancy and these depend on whether you are under weight, within a "normal' weight range, or overweight to begin with (and to know this your height has to be factored in). Typically, recommended weight gain ranges from about 15-35 Ibs with overweight people being at the lower end of the spectrum and underweight people being near the upper end of that range.
Avatar f tn Yes you are on track for this point in your pregnancy, however you said yourself that these past few weeks is when you've been gaining the most. Steady weight gain during pregnancy is fine, it's when you put on too much at once that it becomes a concern.
Avatar f tn I'm 19 weeks pregnant and I've only gained 3 pounds during my pregnancy so far, my doctor hasn't said anything to me.. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn I was under weight before this pregnancy. This is my 3rd and esp the first trimester I ate EVERYTHING. I felt like a hippobut then it leveled out a bit in second trimester then the cravings came so I eat a lot again and it makes me sad but I only have a bout 5 weeks left. Pre pregnancy I was 118 at 5'6" and now at 35 weeks I'm about 155. I'm slowing down on the cravings to control my weight better but I know after the baby I want to weigh a little more.
Avatar f tn No hun it's normal. Not all women gain alot of weight during pregnancy. For example im 35+1 and have lost weight. Im still 6 lbs under my prepregnancy weight. Baby girl is healthy and growing just fine. Stop worrying. Good luck!!!
4437866 tn?1388119624 I'm not sure about normal for twins but it normal for pregnancy. I am 5'9" as well and lost weight the first trimester with all 4 pregnancies. Don't worry, pretty son you'll be wishing you didn't gain so much!
Avatar f tn Women who are on the heavier side do tend to lose weight during pregnancy. If you're eating healthy and getting some walking in, it'll happen. Plus our metabolism is triple right now! I've lost 15 lbs and haven't gained any back and I'm 25 weeks. But my baby is perfect size! Doesn't mean your baby is unhealthy. As long as he/she is growing it's definitely okay to lose weight. As long as you're not trying or dieting, cause that's dangerous during pregnancy.
1935851 tn?1332348173 I was around 137 pre pregnancy and am now 151. Is this a normal amount of weight gain and how much more weight is normal??? I feel like I've gained so much since some women don't gain any.
Avatar f tn I was 206 before I got pregnant now I'm between 211-212 but I'll lose like 2-3 pounds for a few weeks but then I'll gain it right back...
Avatar f tn This app says i haven't gain enough weight even though I was over weight when I got pregnant. I am 31 weeks and have only gained 1.5 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight. During this pregnancy I've been sick a lot. Since I am overweight my docs don't want me to gain a lot of weight anyway. This app doesn't account for everyone's personal medical circumstances (overweight/underweight).
Avatar f tn What did your dr recommend for your weight gain during your pregnancy and how much have you gained thus far?
Avatar f tn My doctor told me that so many women think they HAVE to gain so-so weight during pregnancy. But he said if you're eating healthy and the baby is growing, there is nothing to worry about! I'm 25 weeks today and have only gained about 5 pounds.
Avatar f tn weight gain during pregnancy is very normal.. its different for everyone.
