Avatar m tn Protein adult range is up to 18 to 56 mg/dl and child of 5 years would have similar normal levels. CSF glucose is usually 2/3rd s of serum glucose in the last few hours. You can consult a pediatrician about the cell counts with appropriate clinical correlation. It is of paramount significance that these findings are checked along with the clinical presentation of your son. You are most welcome with any further clarification. Wish you the very best.
Avatar f tn 00mlU/L , my free T4 is 18 , the normal range is 9-23 pmol/L and my free T3 is 5.3 , the normal range being 3.5-6.5pmol/L . This is all from my labs results yesterday. Help?
Avatar m tn The difference between a fasting glucose of 101 and 106 is probably negligible. Both of your values suggest that you have impaired fasting glucose (range 100 - 125). The measurement is the same in fasting and non fasting testing - the difference is in the reference range. A normal fasting glucose is < 100 and the current thinking seems to be that even a result in the mid to high 90s might suggest close monitoring.

Avatar f tn Does a persons age play a factor for their "normal" fasting glucose range? During my last visit to my 82 yo mother, I happened to see her test results that showed her fasting glucose range topping out at 180 mg. I, on the other hand, being 60 yo & under immunosuppressant meds have a range from 50 - 150 mg, yet I constantly hear the normal range is 70 - 120. Both of our blood samples are tested at the same lab too. So what is the "normal" fasting glucose range?
Avatar f tn I believe the normal range is anything under 5. The scale is 1-10. Anything under 5 is within in normal range. Mine was at 7.4 before surgery. Doctor's usually use this just as a point of reference because so many other things can cause an elevated result. Very similar to the CA-125 test that way. Hope this helps...not a doctor just remember how hard I tried to find answers to the same question!
