Avatar f tn I got my period on the 5th of december. I took the morning after pill on the 14 of december. I then started my period again on the 22nd of december. Should I have expected for my regular period to come on the 5th of january? And would I have ovulated again after this second period?
Avatar n tn Given that I was on the pill for so long, does it take time for my cycle to normalize? I have no idea what the length of my cycle was prior to starting the pill. Thanks for any advice.
Avatar f tn The effects of the pill on your cycle can last for 4-6 weeks. Usually the cycle in which the pill is taken is NOT normal. Usually the next cycle after that one IS normal. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I'm in the process of receiving AI. My mentrual cycle is 28 days, however after my first AI Procedure I've had a second cycle in the same month! (Full blown bleeding). Going forward, which cycle do I now calculate from, the first one, or this second one? And it obviously now means, I've lost the "egg" and didn't "take"...? Is it necessary to still do a pregnancy test?
937837 tn?1285350385 I thought after you got ones levels into range the menstrual cycle was supposed to normalize. I have had about 3 50 day cycles since I was diagnosed and started meds. Before my cycles were 37, 49, 34, stopped taking birth control in mid October. Was just wondering if anyone knows if this is normal for a women with hypothyroidism?
87651 tn?1259602403 I had 4 months of no period after my dosage was adjusted from 112 to 125 mcg a few months after the surgery, then my cycle came back to normal (or, as normal as it has been since then). Then, for some unexplained reason, this past fall, I had 3 periods in November, 2 in December, then more or less back on schedule since then. My endo checked my thyroid levels as well as FSH,LH, Estradoil, etc.
Avatar n tn ) I stopped my pills last month, so this is my first normal cicle, which makes me wonder how many days my actual cicle is without the pill...because of the same reason, I din't know when I was ovulating. However my cervical mucus was indication ovulation and we had intercourse about 2x on this period. Is it possible for me to be pregnant on the first cicle without the pills? Doesn't take a couple of months?
Avatar f tn A woman with a light period is not gaining much thickness in her endometrial lining during the early part of the menstrual cycle. This is usually an indication that estrogen levels are lower than normal. If estrogen levels are low, progesterone levels are likely to also be low and a woman may or may not ovulate with her cycles.
Avatar n tn No, HPV will not affect your menstrual cycle, there must be some other cause for it. Is there any possibility of pregnancy? Have you had a LEEP or cone biopsy at all due to dysplasia caused by HPV? It may be time to make an appointment with a doctor.
Avatar f tn I am a 46 year old woman. I usually have a 5 day normal menstrual. I spotted 1 day and it went away. What can that possibly be? Pregnancy test was negative.
20044847 tn?1539205032 It could have taken months for your body to begin ovulating and menstruating on its own schedule again. Some women experience a delay before their normal menstrual cycles returns. (Especially those who had irregular periods before taking oral contraceptives.) If your menstrual cycle hasn't returned to normal after a few months, your doctor will test your hormone levels, including HCG to check for pregnancy.
Avatar f tn ( At this time, I went back to school after winter break and experienced extreme homesickness/anxiety, and was on antibiotics for a alight UTI). My next menstrual cycle started right on time, but was more of a brown-pink discharge. It eventually picked up for the last 2 1/2 days of the cycle, and ended as it always does. I took a pregnancy test 3 times and they all came out negative.
Avatar f tn I want to know if it is possible to take the pill to regulate my cycle, as well as to lessen the cramps and the bleeding. I have had two periods since I had my son the first one was short and sweet but the second one was awful. I had to change every hour. I have never had cramps or extremely heavy bleeding but now I have both. I don't even get any relief pain wise until I take four pills. I don't want to get into to much detail but its bad.
Avatar m tn The primary mechanism of emergency contraception is delaying ovulation. There may be temporary disruption of menstrual cycle. This can manifest as early or late periods, spotting or breakthrough bleeding. Menstruation usually occurs on an average about 14 days after ovulation. So delayed ovulation may result in delayed periods. She has taken emergency pill within 24 hours after an unprotected act so her chances of conceiving are very less.
