703897 tn?1248019974 Post-op pain associated with implant placement is generally minimal, generally no more than 24 hours as reported by my patients. One or two doses of OTC pain killer is generally adequate. However, each individual 's pain response is different.Going back to your dentist to have a post-op evaluation is advised. Complete healing for an extraction site with or without bone graft takes 3-6 months in general.

Avatar n tn I had the Contraceptive Implant a few months ago, Since then I have been on my period for nearly 10 weeks, I am losing a fair amount of blood which is causing pale skin and sometimes feeling weak. I have been given a pill to counteract this problem and hopefully calm my period down, but it seems to have made my period heavier, Also since I have had the Implant I have noticed that my moods have changed, I have become very sensitive and emotional.

Avatar f tn Hello, I got the implant in last July and since then I have pretty much gone downhill. I have had excessive mood swings, lashing out at my partner for no reason; and it's got to the point where our relationship is now on the edge as I just snap at everything, I completely lost my sex drive and am constantly Depressed. I now get to the point where j cry so much that I struggle to breathe and get very angry but can't explain to anyone what is that matter.
Avatar m tn From the x-ray of my implant, I found that my implant is too close to tooth #9 and the bone in between my implant and tooth #9 not grow much to integrate with the implant. I could also see the implant through my front gum, the gray color show off. I deeply worried and began to consult with some oral surgeons and some implant specialist. When they see the x-ray, all their first reaction is: This implant is not good. So, I took a CT Scan to see the implant 3-dimension.

Avatar n tn I had an implant that failed, it was removed and I had bone grafting, then I had another implant surgery. The bone and gum on the out-facing side of the implant receded and a good portion of the implant is exposed. It was recommended that I have gum surgery prior to having the crown placed on the implant because so much of the implant is exposed - it is very ugly looking. The other option is to have a special crown made that extends up over the implant with a fake gum line.
Avatar m tn 1. take the implant out, which might damage adjacent tooth as implant was placed in a bad way. My implant is tooth #10, it is too close to tooth #9 2. open the gum, do bone grafting on outer side of the implant, and do some gum grafting too, as the gum cover the outer side of the implant dose not grow. If do nothing now, when it is the time to place the implant crown, it is going to be ugly: gum line is too high, and gap between the implant crown and the adjacent tooth.

Avatar f tn Thank you Scottma for your help. I went to an oral surgeon a second opinion and he took several xrays. He showed me xrays and explained that the implant had entered an area of many nerves. He told me to have it removed immediately and even called the dentist that put the implant in. I then went and saw the dentist that put in the implant and he also took xrays.
2003254 tn?1328711299 Hi, The contraceptive implant is a type of hormonal contraception and the side effects may be similar to that of taking pills. This may include nausea, vomiting, headaches and weight gain etc. However depression is unlikely to be because of the implant and you may seek counselling if the symptoms are too distressing. Consult your Doctor. Hope this helps.
