but I think I may have my period sometime that week and I really need to delay it! I heard about this drug Norethisterone, that an OB/GYN can prescribe, and it can potentially delay your period. I am seeing an OB/GYN for the first time tomorrow and I wanted to ask her if she could prescribe me Norethisterone, but what should I say? And what is the likelihood she will prescribe me this medicine, considering my age?

I was taking norethisterone for 5 days to delay my period. On the 4th day of taking it I also had the nexplanon implant fitted. I had unprotected sex that same day, where no ejaculation happened within in the vagina. I bought the Ellaone morning after pill just to be safe. It's been a over a week now since I took the last norethisterone, and I still haven't had a period. I've taken pregnancy tests and they are all negative.

The contraceptive noriday is norethisterone 0.35g once a day. The official line is norethisterone for period delay does not stop you getting pregnant, but I don't understand whether this is just to stop people using it as a contraceptive or wether there's some different effect due to the dose. Does anyone know wether you can actually get pregnant or not while taking norethisterone for period delay? There's nothing online that explains this.

I took tranexamic acid for a week alongside norethisterone that I have been prescribed for 21 days and noticed that during the days I took tranexamic acid, I had no bleeding but as soon as I came off it and was solely on norethisterone, I got period like pains and started bleeding, I would say a moderate period flow. Prior to any medication my flow was uncontrollable and very heavy, hence being given the meds. Many thanks in advance.

Hi i have just taken my first course of Norethisterone to bring on a period as i haven't had any periods for 3 yrs and i am not ovulating. The consultant wants me to take Clomid 5mg on day 2 of my bleed. What happens if i don't bleed, do ii start to take Clomid?

i am 24 yrs old and married for 7 days.8 months ago i had an laparoscopy surgery for 10cm left ovarian chocolate cyst and now 2 months ago i found another 5.5cm cyst on my right ovary.now i'm taking danazol 400mg daily but it may not working as last 2 months i got my period with larger clot.so my gyno said another surgery might be need for the right ovary.is there any chances of pregnancy after that.i heard that one ovary is enough for conceiving but what happen if both ovaries are affected?

I was on a period for a month and that was far too long. Norethisterone is like the Mini pill, but you take a short course. It stopped my bleeding, and I had a withdrawal bleed after which has just recently gone. Please make sure you get checked for anaemia.

Do try and stick to the more natural remedies as all these chemical based ones will only upset your hormones even more. I hope i have been of some help. think i will leave the norethisterone for now and see what my doc says!

I had a heavy bleed on Saturday but since that evening, the bleeding calmed down and resembles spotting/breakthrough bleeding. I also stopped taking norethisterone on Thursday after having the coil removed. Yesterday I passed some weird tissue that did not look like a blood clot and the bleeding definitely subsided since then but it is still here. Could I be on my period after norethisterone?

As soon as I stop the medication, the problem come back. I had almost 10 times of transfusion during the time, my latest hB rate was 3.8. On 2010, one doctor diagnosed me that I'm having fibroid, yet he didn't give me any medication and just ask me to lose weight. Another doctor told me that I'm having fibroid.

My last period started on 4th Jan and haven't had my periods since then. I was concerned that this was due to pregnancy due to unprotected sex on Jan 23rd. He retracted it in time though. When I went to the doctor on 6th Feb, she asked me to take urine and blood tests. Both came negative (the blood hcg being 2.5 or so). But the gynaec asked me to take primolut-n twice a day. hi everyone my periods are irregular so in nov2010 i went to the doctor and she advice me take progylution tablet on 5th day of my periods and i had that tablet for two months and also my period become regular now my cycle is 30 days but in this month {feb} again my periods are 5 day later why this happen so? can any one can help me?

Hello, I have a burning question on the extended use of Norethisterone (5 mg). I have been diagnosed with endometrosis and my right ovary was surgically removed three years ago. Since the surgery, I have been put on this medication and I'm wondering whether I am the only one taking Norethisterone for 3 years and what kind of effects will it have one me? I have recently developed a completely non-itching, non-painful rash all over the front side of my trunk/torso. It has been around for about 5-7 days now and has not shown sides of abaiting. It has spread only SLIGHTLY since first appearing and has not been contagious to my partner. The rash is a tons of little red bumps that look like mosquito bites or similar. They do not itch in the slightest.

According to this app I was on my fertile week last week-I had backache and abdominal cramps with spotting.I read up and apparently this is a great sign to show you've ovulated...so I was hopeful as ovulation tests were showing as negative. Anyway bleeding increased yesterday morning(cycle day 14-currently on 28 day cycle because take norethisterone too)as if it were a light period...this worried me?Any ideas what this could mean? It was the 19 June I started my last period, I have been taking norethisterone since the 14 July for 10 days and my gyna was asking if I knew the cycle day I am on.

I have been on other brand of pills in the past which contained ethinylestradiol and norethisterone and I was fine with it. Also, what causes these illness when in fact we naturally produce oestrogen and progesteron and also need them. I understand that contraceptive pill contains synthetic version of hormones but it is mind boggling.
