norgestimate and mood

m eighteen and recently got my wisdom teeth taken out so I had to take anti-biotics for a week and the doctor told me if would interfere with my oral contraceptives, Sprintec (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol tablets, 0.250 mg/0.035 mg). I got the antibiotics at the same time as I started my new pack of birth control and took them both for the first week of my cycle, and I used protection until the next week when my antibiotics ran out (because, of course, things happen).

I started a new birth control in December and I noticed that I am getting these red blotches and bumps on my neck and arms. Could this be a side effect of it?

I'm on CD 88. Took Provera and did not have bleeding or spotting within 10 days after. Did blood work and it showed FSH: 6, LH: 1, TSH: 2.54. I did temping and OPKs and I'm pretty sure I did not ovulate. Before that I was on BCP (0.035 ethinyl estradiol & 0.25 norgestimate) and had very regular periods. What next? Clomid to stimulate ovulation? Clomid followed by estrogen? BCP to reset the cycle?

I used to take tri-lo-sprintec tablet generic for (ortho tri-cyclen LO) for the past 6 six years, but in Michigan we do not have it in generic form anymore. Therefore this month i started taking Eth estradi/norgestimate and I feel very lazy and sleepy all the time and I see that I have been gaining weight. My question is is what I am taking now the same as what I was taking before because that is what the pharmacy told me?

I'd wait. Sure you could have gotten pregnant but the pills make your period odd the first month. Technically it is supposed to start the week of placebos but mine always started around the first day of the missed pack. You can always test but I'd wait two weeks from the sex to test (as it typically takes two weeks from conception in order to show up on test) and you should get your period between there.

Hi Soniya, The first pill I took was ortho-cyclen. I tolerated it very well. Then they put me on kelnor and now I am on Lo-Ovral and still not having a period.

If you are having recalcitrant acne in women then probably oral contraceptive containing norgestimate 0.25 mg and ethinyl estradiol 0.035 mg; spironolactone; prednisone. If you have acne where sweating is an aggravating factor then aluminum chloride solution should be your choice of your treatment. Acne surgery are done for comedone expression; incision and drainage of fluctuant cysts and abscesses; chemical peel; micro-derm-abrasion; intra-lesional triamcinolone 2–4 mg/ml.

Hi all. I am feeling better today but I am REALLY grumpy, I just want to go URGH!! and scream, jump out of my skin. Does anyone else feel this way sometimes? I am at the end of my "cycle" (sorry guys) and I feel like I am on the verge of a panic attack, off balane and dizzy, irritated, pissy, really bad. What should I do?

I take it every day and have noticed an even mood and sense of well being. But exercise coupled with a natural whole foods diet works best for me.

My dog Lola has been acting strange toward me, She is usually very affectionate and lays right near me and at night she sleeps by my side. She is not doing that..she has become very distant. I would like to know why???

Most likely this is just a change in routine and she is a little unsure and worried. But I don't think she is "distant" as that is a human emotion we can't assign to pets. Dogs are very much creatures of habit and routine. Her routine is off a bit, but as you get back to normal - she will also. You can help by having someone fill in on the play time, and work on some games from your bed side. I hope you both will be fine.

thats not good. It's so weird typing on a different post. But this is a good idea you had. I don't get the depressed then mania mood swings. I get anger instead with my bipolar. s just not me. This mood swing was a complete change to my normal angry , throw things at a wall and scream mood swings , or my GET THE **** AWAY FROM ME BEFORE I CUT YOU , mood swings this was pathetic. I was being bratty and sulky because I couldn't have his ****, so I guess my question is has anyone had an increase in sex drive whilst bleeding ?! I'm not on any contraception but let me know if any of you guys think that , that would help with my mad mood swings during this time ???

I just wanted to post that I think it is best to complete a mood chart and journal at the end of a day rather than at the beginning. I just think that this is going to be a more accurate way of doing things as how we feel in the morning may or may not be how the rest of the day pans out, imho! What do others think?

I had major mood swings I can't say it gets any better you just get more attuned to them. But I have got bigger I'm 19weeks now and have a fair size bump but have suffered a lot of bloating have gained 5 pounds in 19 weeks which I don't consider bad at all.

im 18 and I've been through a very rough time the past 8 months and since that time i've been uncontrollably moody. I've never been this moody in my life. One minute i'd be okay and positive and after afew minutes i get irritated easily and angry. Basically, 99% of my time is me being angry at everything. Everyone is pointing out that i should fix myself but im having a very hard time controlling it.

I know that an SSRI on its own can trigger mania etc but is it ok to take them alongside a mood stabiliser? I am so fed up of the low days and over here they won't give you anything to help you feel "up". I was on citalopram (don't know if this is in the ssri group) 60mg whilst on depakote but that just didn't do any good either and I came off both (separately).
