1670015 tn?1310588684 Very soon after starting to take vit d supplements I started having frequent hot flushes. I have not had a period for 12 months but prior to the supplements I had very few menopause symptoms. I now seem to be in my own little tropical hot house - shame the sun doesn't shine here as well!! Anybody else had similar effect?
1410020 tn?1322299265 Hi I am 42 had cancer when I was 38 after treatment got menopause symptoms for 8 months then got my period back. I have now missed a period and started getting hot flushes and sweats. I plan on going to my doctor to get a blood test done to see if it is a hormone problem and if this is the start of the end of my period. When I had the 8 months of menopause symptoms I started taking a dissolvable cube called a trost ( not spelt right) which dissolved into the gum.
Avatar n tn For the last week i have been experiencing hot flushes in my face accompanied with dizzyness that last between anywhere for 10 minutes to 2 hours. I am a 25 year old white male with no other medical problems and am not currently taking any medication. The only thing i can think of is Rosacea or is there anything else that could be causing the problem?

Avatar f tn I have had hot flashes to and I am 24 weeks along with my baby boy and he will be my first child. My Dr told me that I get the hot flashes from a change in hormones and it's normal but it is extremely annoying!

Avatar m tn Each time I go out in the cold air and come back into my room, I feel a hot flush come on for a few minutes. I sort of go hot and then slightly sweat. It has worn off now and I am not flushing at the moment or sweating. does what I said sound like a hot flush? I do not have any fever, my body temp is normal. The thing is it makes me feel even more nervous when it happens, because my fear is to do with waiting for an std test and I keep wondering if it is the std doing it or just the anxiety.

Avatar m tn HI, Oral HRT is better than local creams while dealing with hot flushes. Creams mainly help with vaginal atrophy. However as the oral HRT does not suit you, other medicines are available for dealing with hot flushes like clonidine. Consult your Doctor regarding the same. Hope this helps. Take care.
1427612 tn?1282978018 I haven't had a period for almost two years, last summer I had months of hot flushes. This stopped more or less completely. However they've just come back with a vengeance. I've just come off an anti depressant medication and gone on to another one. I don't know if the flushing is a side effect of the tablets or is menopause related. I assumed once the periods had completely stopped, the flushes would too ! It's really debilitating.
Avatar f tn The more I think about my symptoms the more I think maybe they are in my head and I am imagining it. Because 1 minute I feel fine no I feel great and then it just hits me light headedness and nausea although I have been rather gassy and still very bloated and now I am having hot flushes. I don't think hot flushes is a pregnancy symptom. The more I think about it the more confused I feel.
Avatar f tn Hi im 14 weeks pregnant and getting really hot flushes the sweat is running down my hair im never like this always cold is this normal x
1444053 tn?1365456815 Hi everyone I am 47yrs old had weeks of sudden hot flush hell so asked me dr for something natural as I really didnt want to get on HRT patches, last year after my hormones went haywire and I had 4 weeks of non stop flooding periods I had Novasure done and havent had a period now since Oct, all was ok till the hot flushes day and night started, anyway the dr gave me double strength promensil, after 2 weeks taking 1 a day the hot flushes have gone.
Avatar f tn During the past 14 years I could not find any drugs to alleviate hot flushes. I try to manage it by drinking water as soon as I feel the flush coming on (my mouth feels dry and my face gets red) then, when it starts, I put a fan full blast on myself. During the night I sleep under a ceiling fan - it helps to prevent my body from getting too hot with the severe sweating that follows (an air conditioning system does not help - there must be a draught). Drinking water regularly helps for me.
577132 tn?1314266526 Then I started having whole body hot flushes and very irregular cycles again. I was taking natural progesterone prior to this tx and that really levelled out the hot flushes. This time, due to being in a trial, I had to discontinue the progesterone. I haven't had a period since starting tx. Now I have started overheating and wonder if it could be linked to menopause.
Avatar f tn It was done 3 years back. now in these days i am suffering from hot flushes. what can be done to reduce these flushes? and also my menstural period is not regular. Is this menopause?
Avatar f tn I have been using the estrogen patch (Vivelle dot .1) since my surgery and have had no problems with hot flashes. However, for the past 8 months I having been getting hot flashes every now and then. Is this normal? When I mentioned it to my doctor, he just said I was already taking the highest dose the patch comes in and didn't like the idea of me using the oral kind. I'm just wondering why this would start after so many years and if anyone else has experienced this.
Avatar f tn Hot flashes seem to be caused by extremes of the hormone levels--particularly estrogen. When estrogen levels are low, as in menopause, women experience hot flushes and when the levels are high as in pregnancy women have hot flushes.
Avatar n tn Prior to that, no meds for several years, and before that, PTU for hyperthroidism. In past 6 months, I am having hot flushes and wondering if it is menopause (I'll be 50 this year) or if I need to reduce my synthroid dosage. Am getting blood test this week to check TSH level. I also feel confused, like cotton is in my head, and am having difficulty remembering anything and I am slow to get things done.
Avatar f tn Is it normal to have high temperature on or before period? Especially part of my head as if it's burning. It's not hot flushes. It's more of a whole day high body temperature. The high temperature in my head causes headache.
Avatar f tn I'm having period type of symptoms and it's my initial period day today. Not heavy pain, slight twinges and raw type of feeling in uterus. Hot flushes and it feels like the "period type" of pains or bleeding wants to start, but nothing yet. I've been waiting for it all day hoping it stays away and it's just hormones and my body that's still used to having a period but it's not coming. I do have slight spotting, light brownish, off and on, comes and goes.
