Separately, (Niacin would be niacin and Chromium would be Chromium plus one of the chelators). It can get very confusing, but with all of that said, per the National Institute of Health "...given the limited data on chromium absorption in humans, it is not clear which forms are best to take.
Avatar m tn For the chromium, take 200 mcg daily. Take the Chromium Picolinate (chromium chelated with picolinate), this one is the easiest to assimilate. Chromium polynicotinate (chromium bonded to niacin) is an effective form of this mineral as well. Be careful with fruit drinks, though they are good, they can contain too much sugar, even in the natural form. I do not know what the nhs is. But, I would think most doctors would be able to prescribe this test.

Avatar m tn anyway they re right on calcium and partially wrong on vit D, vitamin k2 mk4 or mk7 is what can fix calcium to bones (other minerals are also more important than calcium) and lower fractures, there are some triasl with results on this.

The antibiotics you listed do not interact with Armour Thyroid 3. Armour Thyroid has a narrow therapeutic index, and the dosage must be individualized. Chromium could potentially decrease the oral absorption of thyroid hormones.

Avatar m tn Kind of paradoxical -- if there's no well conducted research, then how do we know supplements failed or didn't fail? I mean, I agree with the statement, but the problem is the lack of well conducted research, which will never be done until there's money to do it, which there will never be unless research ceases to be patent driven and pharmaceutical company contained and controlled, and we know they're lying.
Tbd What is the purpose of the niacin and should a niacin supplement be administered if the medication does not contain niacin?
Avatar m tn Also consumed 3 grams/day of omega 3 supplements and was on a relatively low carb diet during this period. Pretty sure the sustained release Niacin may be culprit but anyone familiar with anything else that would raise these three enzymes as noted above. I have stopped the Slo Niacin. What's a reasonable time to recheck blood after getting off the Niacin....a month? Also, note that BUN/Creatine just slightly high and ALP, Bilirubin, A/G,Albumin, etc liver markers were all normal.

Using simvastatin together with niacin is usually not recommended, but may be required in some cases.
