Avatar n tn But this medication is not recommended to be taken by your own because you may miss some important side effects. Side effects include flushing, stomach upset, vomitings, headache, dizziness, liver damage in some cases.Niacin can also raise blood sugar levels in some cases. Taking the drug during or after the meals can help people to develop a tolerance to flushing and to sometimes decrease it. While you are on niacin, the effect of high blood pressure medicines may also be increased.
Avatar f tn So today my Celexa dose was upped from half a pill to 1 whole pill and the side effects are coming back like when I first started... Sweaty, can't sleep, headache, stiff neck, clenching teeth... Etc. I don't know what to do. I tried taking stuff for it, including an Oxy but still no change. What can I take to make these side effects not so bad? I don't see the dr till Thursday, so I can't ask her... If anyone has any suggestions?
Avatar m tn Did you try the Niacin with aspirin to reduce side effects taken at bedtime? Niacin can do wonders on the LDL especially when there may be a corkscrew like protein attached to it and no amount of statin, diet or lifestyle change will impact the LDL but Niacin will. It is referred to as LPa and can be done in some advanced lipid testing. That alone may change and further define what you need to be on.
345079 tn?1299202476 So a few months back my doctor told me I needed to take Niacin(vitamin B3 in high doses basically) so I tried it. Well it has the worst side effects ever. It causes major flushing, itching, burning of the skin. I felt horrible and started to panic pretty badly. Never took it again. I saw my doctor yesterday and she told me I have to take it so she prescribed Niapan which is basically the same thing but in an extended release.

519736 tn?1253986826 I have no knowledge of these medications, but did look up side effects of statins. If it does happen to be a side effect, how long should he wait to see if this pain resolves itself after stopping the lipitor....any help is appreciated.
Avatar f tn Unless you have experienced the full brunt of side effects from statins, you can not state "just stick it out". The side effects are unbearable. I finally asked my doctor if it was really healthier that i went from someone who worked out at the gym 5 days a week to someone gobbling pain medicine and laying on the couch. I had no life on the meds and so, I opted to take the risk.
4862508 tn?1360796307 I've been taking magnesium glycinate for over a year and haven't noticed any side effects. It's hard for me to see how chelated magnesium could cause cardiac pains, but maybe what you are experiencing is acid indigestion from the amino acid component. You could try magnesium oxide, but it tends to cause loose bowels. Regardless of how or why the magnesium taureate is causing your side effect symptoms, it sounds like it's not going to work well for you or your mom.
Avatar f tn yes, it is Trileptal. Side effects I have had recently are neutremia, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, headache....seeing my psych doc next week. I am very disappointed that she did not catch this. I will slowly reducing my dose (I'm at 1800 mg now) in order to go off this drug, AND, I will never go back to this psych doc again.
Avatar m tn After taking the meds for over 5 days I am experiencing sleeplessness, headache and constipation. Could someone let me know if these are the side effects of the meds? should i continue or should I stop taking them? thank you.

Avatar f tn Hi Ladies I just have as question about metformin whats the side effects some of you may have had? I start to take metformin today so maybe this will bring on my period. I had a natural m.c in nov 2008 and no AF as of yet.
Avatar m tn I had no side effects at all and was able to continue my XC skiing and cycling as normal. Some do have side effects like fatigue, headache and anemia but I have not heard about anything very severe with this treatment.
Avatar n tn I had many side effects. Headaches, severe heartburn accompanied with hiccups. Blisters and discoloration all over my tongue and back of my throat. By day 6 my feet and ankles were badly swollen and it was getting difficult to swallow. My doc said I was having a systemic reaction and to quit immediately. We are going to try Subutex now and I hope it works. On all the info I found, the only side effect I had that was listed was headache.
Avatar f tn The side effects I had with clomid was a very mild headache, and moodiness later in my cycle. I was only on 50 mg per day for 5 days. I never really had physical pain or tiredness with clomid, but I did have the mental stuff a little bit. With the injectibles, I had lots of physical uncomfortableness (still do !!! ) but no real mental/emotional stuff. It's sort of hard to tell if the drugs are making us crazy, or the process we're having to go through month in and month out, eh?!
Avatar f tn Hey there! Congrats, truly, on taking charge of your health. I know it's always something we wish we didn't have to do when we start new medication but better than a coronary event, right? Rosvin F is two drugs in one. The tablet is a combination of Rosuvastatin and Fenofibrate. As such, it lowers BOTH LDL or and triglycerides (which will bring down your total cholesterol). Exercise or any physical activity is supposed to help with HDL. Also factoring into the ratio.
Avatar f tn sorry to hear your hubby is having a hard time. sounds like he is having some of the common side effects. There is nothing that can boost platlets but many docs let them go really low before lowering or stopping the meds. Try and get back on the full strength of interferon ASAP! Probably the most common side effect is the itching. I have it as well and it is horrible. I have found some relief with a prescription med called Atarax.
