nexium

Avatar n tn is it possible that acid reflux can be associate with stress and high blood pressure.
Avatar m tn Hi, Im hoping to talk to a doctor about nexium. Im here on behalf of my girlfriend who recently started to take nexium for her stomach pains. She has been very hot at random times and has been nauseas at night. Her period was suppose to start yesterday but it has not yet and we are not sure as to why it has not. She had one episode of cramps this morning but it was very short and ended soon after.
Avatar f tn Then soon after that my heart started racing and my chest started getting tight. I checked my blood pressure and it was 150/94 and heart rate was 114. I was really scared, but my blood pressure got up to 171/105 at its highest. I went to the er because i could not get myself to calm down. They found nothing wrong with my heart. They put it as a bad case of acid reflex even though i am already taking nexium.
1927233 tn?1326670387 Could the sudden increase be related to whatever mysterious digestive issues I have, or possibly a side effect of nexium? I tried stopping the nexium for a few days and re-tested my blood pressure at the pharmacy, still 115/82, maybe it takes longer for nexium wear off, or maybe its not the cause. How concerning is this??? I realise 115/82 is still "normal", but considering my whole life my normal blood pressure has been very low, I think the sudden change might be serious.
Avatar n tn My name is Jim 52 year old have pvc,s very bad. I have had my hert tested two times by several test and it is normal no heart disease. My stomach does bother me all the time and my doctor has me on nexium. I get bloated all the time and as soon as I do the pvc's start and do not stop until the pressure goes away by belching, gas or the food slowly moves to my lower tract. I am diabled because of this and quality of life is poor.
Avatar n tn I have tried giving up different foods, acidic foods and beverages and nothing seems to help. I have had endoscopy, colonoscopy and ultra sound as well as blood work and everything comes out normal. I have tried Nexium, Asiphex and most other acid inhibitors but none seem to really help. I have been taking Nexium daily for about 4 months since it is the only one that gives me a little relief, but over all I constantly feel sick.
Avatar n tn s, I have been placed on Atenolol which has been increased to 50 mg QAM and 25 QHS, I have been placed on zantac 150 mg BID and nexium 40 mg BID (have been on Nexium for about 10 days). PVC's are almost totally gone but the chest pressure is there daily from approx. 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. The only relief that I get from the chest pressure is to lie on my stomach (weird right). When my doc put me on nexium I felt great for about 4 days, the pressure came back and is still with me today.
1246733 tn?1268691294 So the same thing is happening now but my blood pressure seems to going up or stays up. I have been on blood pressure meds and not helping. Now as soon as i take a few days as instructed of maalox. my blood pressure droped back to normal. I cook all my food never eat out, and i stay active. Im not the smartest guy in the world but it seems to me that there needs to be a study more so about this. has anyone else experienced the same thing?
Avatar n tn My doctor diagnosed me almost a year ago with "the worst case of acid reflux [she'd] ever seen." Literally, I would drink a glass of water and get reflux issues. I was put on Nexium for a long time, and I have since switched to Prilosec OTC because I ran out of health insurance. It's been about five days on Prilosec but I keep feeling nauseous in the morning after I take it, but it's nothing too bad and it goes away fairly quickly.
Avatar n tn My thyroid levels were very similar to yours and it was discovered that I have a condition called Metabolic Syndrome, which is a cluster of conditions consisting of high blood pressure, high blood glucose (fasting blood glucose over 100 is impaired), high triglycerides or cholesterol, excess body fat around the waist. Having just one of the components doesn't qualify as Metabolic Syndrome; you must have at least 3 of them.
Avatar n tn t start having heartburn until I had taken Mobic for 4 or 5 months, in February of this year I went to the emergency room with chest pain and my blood pressure was 165/113, my blood pressure is usually 110/72. So I was a little concerned, they did lots of tests, x-ray, EKG, and came to the conclusion that it is was heartburn due to the mobic. The doctor prescribed nexium, which I have been taking ever since, and it seems to help with the chest pain.
Avatar n tn severe major clinical depression, severe anxiety, severe constant fungal infections, homocysteine in imminent heart attack range, severe angina pain, severe stomach pain (nexium worsened her gastritis), sky high blood pressure - given less than 5 years to live by an international specialist. Good levels of stomach acid is essential to mental and physical health.
1331397 tn?1294039895 Recently i have been getting this unbearable pressure in my nose and behind my eyes. It even travels to my ears sometimes. Today i felt dizzy and faint. I thought i could be my sinuses that is causing this but the condition seems way worst than just sinuses. Everytime i snort, cough, or inhale, i get this weird feeling in my head sort of like a release or a wave. Idk what that is.... but its scaring me.
Avatar n tn Thank you for your comments. I saw my doctor today. My blood pressure and pulse were elevated today. She did a physical exam of the areas where my pain is and did an EKG while I was having pain. It was normal. I had labs to check heart and to rule out a blood clot. Last, I had a chest x-ray, which a phone call reported was clear. I brought home an Rx for esophagitis to replace the Gaviscon I've been taking. Plus, she told me to take an extra dose of Nexium or 1 Prilosec each AM.
Avatar f tn I also had treadmill stress test recently, and my cardiologist said my blood pressure was just fine. If you're still reading this (sorry about the length), I just wanted to mention that if you take heartburn meds or drink water with no or very little magnesium, adding a little more magnesium might help you. (I do know that everyone is different and it may not work for everyone.) Now if I could figure out why I get this hard, throbbing heartbeat from just going up stairs, etc.
Avatar m tn On a recent visit to the Dr, I made them take a Sitting and Standing check of my Blood Pressure and the difference from Sitting to Standing was a 20 point drop. We repeated it to verify the findings. The determination was Orthostatic Hypotension/Low Blood Pressure. Further findings was Dehydration partially causing the Low BP. Now the Sequence of Events Leading to today. 7 weeks ago I was offered a Hot Tub from a friend, the only drawback was I had to move it right away.
Avatar f tn I am a 36 yr old female who is taking nexium for GERD and or gastritis. Every so often I experience this burning sensation around my stomach and upper area back which may last for several days. My bowels have changed in size, the color is usually normal, but I do not see any blood nor mucus, and when I did have a bowel movement there is pressure near the rectum area. I have gotten a colonoscopy which was negative.
Avatar f tn The only meds I take are a blood thinner and Nexium. My cramps occur after sitting and while sleeping.
Avatar f tn Turns out it was Nexium causing the palpitations and high blood pressure. I stopped taking it and my palpitations have reduced considerably and my blood pressure is now low. Nexium = poison!
Avatar f tn Massive amounts of heartburn, bad indigestion, throwing up at times ( no blood ) and also always has gas 90 percent of the day. He followed up with his doctor on this and I do not think they did the right thing by giving him Nexium. Since he has been on the nexium he has gained 20-30lbs and is now feeling bloated and worse than before. I just do not know what to do about this anymore. I do not know what it could be caused from.
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm new to this site. I was recently diagnosed with GERD, and prescribed to nexium. Today is the 2 week mark of taking nexium. The only symptom I seem to get is really bad belching and it feels like there is a lump in my throat, those were the same symptoms I had when I was diagnosed. I had the same symptom for about a month before i went in. Maybe once or twice did I get heartburn or get an acidic taste in my mouth.
Avatar m tn but I still had the symptoms ie. painfull stomach and small intestine, and acid reflux. Now I am on antiboitics and feel much better. Could be you have the same thing. I don't think anyone should suffer with gerd. I believe it is a symptom because acid reflux is caused by the stomach not being able to move the food and acid along the digestive track. Good luck.
Avatar f tn he is 35, doesnt drink, does chew tobacco, relatively active, is on medicine for high blood pressure, and has been for atleast 7 yrs. I just feel like the Dr. is missing something, I was curious about ulcers, his mother has diverticulitis, is it hereditary? Any answers would be helpful. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Had been on Augmentin for a sinus infection, just finishing up the script, and take Crestor, Nexium, and Zyrtec on a regular basis. Symptoms started a few days after starting generic Zyrtec, which also caused unbelievable dryness that felt like I was dehydrated (no vomiting, though). A day after the chills, I noticed my urine was dark and my stools were very light, almost gray, and I started getting very itchy but no rash.

Avatar m tn My mother lost weight (without changing her diet) when she stopped nexium and gaviscon and started digestive enzymes and betaine HCI with pepsin. I had a look online about this based on the fact that lower stomach acid is a cause of poor digestion. A quick google search and i found the article "Poor Digestion Can Make You Fat" by William McKenna. Hmmm. So can you have your aussie hamburgers and lose weight too? If you digest your food well the odds are better...
