1223953 tn?1267031036 Of those you mentioned, jaundice, stomach pain, nausea and loss of appetite are fairly common side-effects of Reyataz. Changes in the liver caused by ARV medication is often over a long-period of time and happens gradually - so short of something I've listed as an unusual side-effect affecting the liver there's no immediate urgency. That said...
Avatar m tn I was off of meds for over four year ...a drug holiday because of the previous meds which made me sick but now I'm on the 3 medications ( reyataz, truvada and norvor). Its been a over three years and so far so good with a healthy diet and exercise and no visible side effects. My cd4's are up and viral load is undetectable. Not sure if it makes a difference at what time of day you take yours meds but I take mine after breakfast.
Avatar m tn Nurse advised me to take ZIDOLAM-N as PEP for 28 days. After continuing for 3 days i visited a doctor and he told me that Nevirapine should not be used for PEP but since i already started the PEP, he advised me to continue the same medication and asked to monitor closely the side effects of the drug. Now today Friday i am experiencing some pain in the upper abdomen. Is there any possibility that i can change the PEP drug to avoid nevirapine, please Suggest?
Avatar n tn I started taking PEP on august 4th. I take truvada norvir and reyataz. I went to get a rapid antibody hiv test today and was negative. Should I still be worried and stressed? I haven't slept much since this happened.
Avatar n tn I recently started the Norvir, Reyataz, Truvada combo. This is my first time taking "the meds" after being hiv + for 20 years. I have been on them for only 11 days. I have weird side effects: headaches, queasy stomach, and fatigue/weakness. I told my doctor, and he said, to "tough it out for another week, and he'll see if he needs to change the combination, or switch meds.
4529703 tn?1355961841 I went into the hospital back in Feb of this year for some kidney infection that the doctors was confounded about how I got and my CD4 was 2something and viral load 500+ AFTER 5 YEARS UNDETECTABLE!. Kidneys got clear & I left.... My luck got worse and my home was broken into......I pretty much stopped taking my meds since Feb/March because I was discouraged really bad......I take Epzicon, Norvir, & Reyataz......Am I now resistant? I still have a lot of meds......
2069183 tn?1331330038 been positive since 1988, maybe even earlier, didnt start on meds till 2007. Norvir, truvada and reyataz are my friends. My cd4 is 700 and viral load is undetectable. very fortunate to have meds at my disposal. I would advise folks who are positice, please take your meds.
Avatar m tn I am going to the US in 2 days, if I cannot find a way to get pep here, could I take his ARVs just until then as a temporary measure? He says he takes nevirapine and tenofivir/lamivudine blend. Any advice really appreciated! If my risk is very low I would prefer not to take pep but I suspect I may be best advised to do so. If it makes a difference, I am prone to have a tiny amount of blood(I think from tears) on toilet paper when I use the bathroom so that may make it more risky? Thanks!
Avatar m tn 4 I have a compromised immune system and am on truvada, norvir, and reyataz. I have been walking and watching my intakes... I do have a sweet tooth sometimes but otherwise I eat pretty healthy. any ideas?
446474 tn?1446347682 * Boceprevir reduced average trough concentrations of ritonavir-boosted atazanavir (Reyataz), lopinavir (Kaletra), and darunavir (Prezista) by 49%, 43% and 59%, respectively. * On average, reductions of 25% to 36% were seen in peak concentration of the three drugs, when given with boceprevir, along with declines of 34% to 44% in exposure (area under the curve).
Avatar n tn I was taking truvada norvir and reyataz. Where are you getting your info from? Like I said a few hiv counselers also told me that this is a myth. Pep hotline said its a myth too.
Avatar m tn I slept with someone from a very high infection rate and who was a CSW but I used protection and mine was also for around 2 minutes. I was told PEP and even testing not necessary and that I could go on having unportected sex with my girlfriend.
Avatar m tn As I type this I am shaking in fear.. I really need your Professional advise on this. On Saturday morning last week I met a girl in Cambodia. After a few drinks together I took her back to my hotel & we had sex. I used a condom throughout the intercourse, however, after I ejaculated & pulled out I noticed the condom broke. It must have broke near the end as when we changed positions I noticed it was intact each time.
Avatar n tn He said that he is Undetectable for years now he also showed me his meds Truvada and Nevirapine... And I asked if he had Stds he said none because if he does have it. It would be detrimental to his health...
Avatar f tn Also let me add that I doubt that I built a resistance to any meds because before taking Biktarvy I was on Truvada, Norvir and Reyataz. My new doctor put me on Biktarvy this year in March (my viral load was 140 at the time) and within a month's time it became undetectable.
Avatar n tn I was wondering where the best place for me would be to find a complete list of medicines I should stay away from with Long QT syndrome. I have a list but it is over 5 years old, and I am in need of a new one! Thank You!
Avatar f tn Medicines for HIV Some medicines used to treat HIV (antiretroviral drugs) make the pill less effective. Examples of these drugs include Nevirapine and Nelfinavir- and Ritonavir-boosted protease inhibitors (Darunavir, Fosamprenavir, Lopinavir, Tipranavir). There are antiretroviral drugs that do not mess with the pill, including Tenofovir. If you take an HIV medicine, talk with your health care provider about the risks and benefits of your birth control options. St.
Avatar m tn HIV infection was asymptomatic with a CDC classification of A2, and he was treated with lamivudine, zidovudine and nevirapine. In May 2003, as his viral load increased and the CD4 count fell, the treatment was changed to tenofovir (245 mg/day), didanosine (250 mg/day) and abacavir (600 mg/day). Two weeks later, the patient had an episode of vomiting. His serum creatinine was 2.67 mg/dl (237 µmol/l). Because of deteriorating renal function, he was admitted to hospital 1 week later.

Avatar m tn Yes it's true - I'm really reaching some kind of edge again. even considered checking out this retreat but the cost was pro-hib-itive. Plus I don't really 100% believe their total philosophy, and I've already dealt with so much of what they talk about. I really do think my problems are bigger than just needing to find a life lesson, and "doing happy" etc. Lastly, I've given in - I'm sick of sleeping my life away so I've started taking....pseudoephidrine...
Avatar m tn I have been on a statin drug for about 15 years and ran for exercise until about 5 years ago and all I can conclude from my history is I have benefited from the statin drug via low cholesterol and not blockages and weight control and general high physical quality of life from the exercise. I'm 11 years younger than you, and I no longer run, but that is because of atrial fibrillation, not because of muscle damage due to anything other than age.
Avatar m tn I did touch her vagina (fingered) and afterwords put on the condom for protected sex. She did also stroke me penis a little and touched the tip and I think she touched her vagina before she did this. I developed burning with urination and red urethra within a day or two. I do recall that my urethra may have been a bit irritaded before i was with her but definarely not due to sexual activity.
