I was off of meds for over four year ...a drug holiday because of the previous meds which made me sick but now I'm on the 3 medications ( reyataz, truvada and norvor). Its been a over three years and so far so good with a healthy diet and exercise and no visible side effects. My cd4's are up and viral load is undetectable. Not sure if it makes a difference at what time of day you take yours meds but I take mine after breakfast.

After continuing for 3 days i visited a doctor and he told me that Nevirapine should not be used for PEP but since i already started the PEP, he advised me to continue the same medication and asked to monitor closely the side effects of the drug. I am going to the US in 2 days, if I cannot find a way to get pep here, could I take his ARVs just until then as a temporary measure? He says he takes nevirapine and tenofivir/lamivudine blend. Any advice really appreciated! If my risk is very low I would prefer not to take pep but I suspect I may be best advised to do so. If it makes a difference, I am prone to have a tiny amount of blood(I think from tears) on toilet paper when I use the bathroom so that may make it more risky? Thanks!
