I still get very distracted and can't focus on just one thing. Are there any adults that have experienced success with other medications? I already take Omega-3 fish oils, B-complex, etc. and exercise 30 min./day Thanks!

In July 2009, her pain doctor switched her from the methadone to Roxicodone, after attending a meeting that discussed the dangers of methadone-related overdose. The new medicine does not control the pain in its current strength.
Avatar f tn After trying all sorts of oral treatments it was determined that a IT Baclofen pump was the best treatment to deal with this problem. in Feb 2006 this was done. Immediately after the surgery I started having burning pain in my skin from the level of spinal insertion of the catheter down in my legs. I had suffered an allergic rash to Oxycodone immediately after surgery and thought this pain was a result of that. But after the rash was gone the pain still persisted.

Passing kidney stones can be extremely painful. It is important to hydrate as much as possible to help flush them out. Once the stones pass through, the pain will resolve and there are usually no permanent damages.

I finally saw a neurologist and she was the one who did the EEG. I didn't respond to Imitrex injections at all. She tired to knock me out and calm me down at bedtime by giving me a antidepressant . It did work for a while then I would start up the same symptoms.

So given that these drugs need to be avoided, and if your doctor knows you're an addict then he shouldn't be scripting them for you. It, of course is not the same for everyone. It seems strange to me that any doctor would prescribe a narcotic to someone struggling with addiction. The worst part now is that I am so depressed if I don't take any of these pills everyday, I'm not sure how to deal with my emotions without them anymore, I don't event deal with my emotions I just use these drugs to cope with them.

My plan for pain is to stick to anti-inflammatories if possible. Even though I've been on oxy's for several years steady, I don't feel I have a craving for them.
Avatar n tn I do take meds, neurontin, cymbalta and tramadol and recently diagnosed with HPT on chlorthalidone. I have tried everything from meditation and accupuncture, mental health treatment to steroid shots without any relief. At times I have become on the edge of suicidal but now I go on living a healthy normal life in spite of the agony I live with everyday all day inside this body. According to the Drs I am extremely healthy. No abnormalities.

Avatar m tn your therapist will tell your parents if he/she thinks you are in danger and even if yuo think you have it under control, he/she might fear the possibility of overdose and tell them. however, they may not, especially if they deal with drug addiction on a reg basis b/c i know their 1st priority is to help you get clean. if you are truley worried, you can call any walgreens or drug store in your area, even 24/7 and talk to a pharmacist anonymously. i have already done this myself.
Avatar f tn Flexeril, Neurontin, Lyrica and even hydrocodon do not relive pain very much. He even had me take Neurontin and Flexeril together at night and pain bad enough I couldn't sleep well. As for flares I hurt 24/7 (badly enough to really limit my activity) but sometimes get so bad I can't get out of bed (guess flare is when you can't get out of bed). Then I am really in the soup as being in bed makes muscles and even skin hurt. I hope ya'll are doing better. My prayers are with ya'll.

You have to be careful of any of these so-called miracle treatments. The Naltrexone implant I know is being used for alcohol abuse, and works extremely well. It's not yet approved for opiate addiction---as far as I know--but they say it is promising for the future for many kinds of prescription and illicit drugs.......Holy cow ! I am rambling......
6726276 tn?1421130268 By the time I was referred to a neurologist, at least a year into therapy, my meds had changed to 250mg Lamictal, 15mg Abilify, Topomax, 2400mg Neurontin, 1 1/2 mg Klonopin...I had been on those since I stopped the Lithium due to side effects after 6 months. My weight came down, I had no other side effects, but my headaches were still raging after 1 1/2 yrs. of therapy. I knew it wasn't the meds, because even as I changed them, my headaches still followed.
Avatar m tn Unfortunately, none of this was significantly beneficial and the pain specialist inflicted more harm than help in his treatment of me. He over-prescribed medications to me, nearly costing me my marriage and my life. I ended up terminating all pain meds and his services, after ending up in the hospital from an overdose, by taking what was prescribed. The therapies were of no significant help, either.
