Avatar f tn Well I'm 37 weeks, and my neck and my back(up top) are really messed up.. like it hurts to turn my neck or move my right shoulder. Is there anything they can do while I'm pregnant or do I just need to wait to go after the baby's born? Since this pain came I have a knot on the back of my head now too..
5154898 tn?1374773319 Use a hard bed to sleep. Avoid a pillow. Roll a towel and place it under your neck while sleeping on the back and between head and shoulder when lying on the side. Initially this will be uncomfortable but with time the acupressure will work. Use an analgesic cream or spray. Anti-inflammatory drugs and muscle relaxants also help. Also, you must improve your posture while sitting and working. Manual therapy, neck exercises etc should all be tried as all these can help relieve pain.
Avatar f tn I have had a constant neck ache for about 3 weeks now. It is worse while sleeping and arising in the morning. Eventually through the day, it feels better (but not healed). I have tried different sleeping positions but nothing has helped. Of course this is just one of the mysteries that we all experience with MS. Maybe it's not MS related at all.
Avatar f tn It sounds like carpal tunnel. You can ice it for 10-15 minutes at a time. Wearing the brace at night is good, just make sure it is very very loose. What also helped soothe it was using two sinks, cycle for 30 seconds in a warm sink or basin then a cold (with ice cubes) 30 seconds repeat 5 times always ending in the cold one. Do this several times a day. It helps with inflammation. Take NSAIDS. To lower inflammation and pain if you can. Ibupropin works the best for me and take it with food.

624074 tn?1263873807 D And her symtoms kicked in really quick with the unbareable head, neck, shoulder pain, tingling arms, hands, her legs again everyhing, she felt like all her symptoms before her TC surgery were coming back. The answer to your question is yes:) my daughter had to sleep like a weirdo too before her surgeries:) God bless.
Avatar n tn If you have a broadbased disc bulge both hands can be effected.Usually there is arm aching/pain anytime with radiculopathy. Carpal Tunnel also starts while sleeping and effects both hands-usually one more than the other. You would need EMG testing and an evaluation of your cervical MRI to see if that is the cause. Pinky finger doesn't go numb with either condition.
Avatar f tn But then I wake up this morning and the whole back of my neck is in pain, and I cant stretch it or touch it without pain. And it comes with verry annoying pains in both temples and ears and behind my eyes as well. And thats not the worst part, my shoulders both are in pain when I move them, or lift things. All the way down to the palms of my hands, and then when I change sleeping positions at night, my hips hurt the same way and all the way down to my feet ..

Avatar n tn Last night I tried sleeping in a position beneficial to my spine, by propping up my legs on pillows and laying on a rolled up pillow under my neck. I fell asleep like that and woke up like that and this morning the pain was agony...ten times worse. It really feels like someone twisted my neck violently. Doing anything hurts, even just keeping my head straight or nodding the slightest bit. Even taking a deep breath sends a sharp stab down my neck and back. Where the heck did this come from??

Avatar n tn same here was real bad last night, started when my neck became bad,,,arm numbness is often from neck problems,,,my neck spasms all the time and I have artritis and low cartilage,,,The EMG or EEG is a great idea, you really want to rule out other possibilities, I did had to get an ekg too. all fine just my neck problems...sure does interfer with sleep..I notice when I take pain meds the night symptoms increase..have either of you noticed that?
1457315 tn?1288459746 t want to go through all of that again. What is making my neck go WRY? A physical therapist at work said sleeping under a ceiling fan. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn I had been so exhausted from the last three days of not sleeping and being in incredible pain that I actually managed to fall asleep after some of the pain subsided. (For a while, I thought I was going to have to leave the study and go to the hospital. Pain has been awful. ) She said she can't give me a full report but it appears as though I only had a few minor incidences during the night. I'm guessing that means I don't have sleep apnea.

Avatar m tn I also did the same thing, I just used to do neck exercise told by him and avoided taking pillow while sleeping. Few days later I got bit relax. But now a days am getting the same thing. My head starts acheing. The pain first starts from rightmost corner of the neck just behind the ears and then pain goes towards brain in the same(right) direction. Every mornign am doing neck exercise also but still whole day my neck doesn't stop paining.
Avatar f tn I have had some neck pain for about a year now and I have also has some dizziness every few months when I bend my head down or sideways sometimes. I also have recently have had some werid dizziness while sleeeping. It almost feels like my body is moving and then when I open my eyes everyhting is fine....then sometimes when i bend my neck over and close my eyes it feels like my body is ,moving again.
Avatar f tn s most likely round ligament pain. I had it really bad w my last baby. I would almost come to tears from the pain when I rolled out of bed, moved suddenly, sneezed (that was the worst). Unfortunately it's very normal when prego & won't go away until U give birth. Look it up online so it's easier to visualize where the ligaments are. Think of the ligament as a rubber band any sudden movement it will pull & snap back and hurt U.
