Avatar f tn My surgery is Thursday 4/2/15 for which I bought a travel neck pillow (which the ends snap together forming a circle) to allow me to lay my head on it with opened area over incision. Not the one with beads in it, but one with comfort memory foam & cooling materials that I actually found at Ross department store. Curious to see if this worked for anyone.

Avatar n tn Glands under ears sore and painful, pain around eyes when touched. Just want to sleep and lay down. Saw a pain doctor for a back problem and he prescribed gabapentin. One dose of the pill knocked me down for a day and can't function under that med. Just feel llike this is more than a tension headache, as it never goes away. Did see ENT, had eyes checked when this all started and everything was ok there. Can't live this way so any help appreciated.
Avatar f tn Time to get a exam! Headaches could be a sign of a bigger problem. Do you have neck pain with it? Or pain anywhere else? How long have you had it? Is it just at certain times, or all day every day? Does it interfere with your activities? Do you get enough sleep? It might be sleep deprivation. If it's only in the morning when you wake up, it could be an uncomfortable bed or pillow that is not supporting your neck properly.
Avatar f tn Any tips or advise on how I can get rid of this pain. Its crippling. My head hurts, my eyes hurt, my neck hurts, all of it.
Avatar m tn Maybe a better pillow or changing sleep position if your neck is in an awkward position. You could try relaxing or massaging your neck. Most sinus headaches need antibiotic treatment. See a doctor if you're concerned or if you're not getting better.
768044 tn?1294223436 ve been getting my normal migraines, except my normal migraines have been more severe and even when I get rid of the migraine with the migraine medications or NSAIDS or even stronger pain killers like opiates (normal medication routine), even when the pain has completely stopped, then if I lie down or recline at all, then a different sort of pain starts.
Avatar f tn I saw in a catalog a device to lay on, that put pressure on the occipital area, to treat and relieve occipital neuralgia pain. It wasn't a pillow to sleep on, it was similar to what a physical therapist does with finger pressure, to be used for a short time. Can anyone help me come up with a name for this "thingie" LOL. Of course, now I can't find the catalog to order it. I have been suffering from severe occipital pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, and constant muscle spasms.

Avatar f tn So I got neck pain, headaches, shoulder pain, leg pain, and tenderness. I just started back working (because of this economy, not because of my back pain), and I swear I am in the worst pain ever. I can not sit up straight, in the same spot, for too long. Even when I'm leaned against a pillow in bed or on the sofa, my back and neck aches. I stay in pain!!
472570 tn?1274685887 Its either to high and it puts pain in my neck or to low and its uncomfortable. Light and music set them off also. Laying on my back helps but its uncomfortable. I feel that laying on your strong side helps the migraine that's why I lay on my right side.

Avatar n tn Hello, Numbness on one side of the brain along with headache, more with movement of the neck can be due to whiplash injury or cervical spodylosis. Diagnosis can be confirmed by X-ray, CT or MRI of the head and neck. You can use anti-inflammatory painkillers like ibuprofen, paracetamol. Muscle relaxants, or narcotics will also help. Use of soft cervical collars is also helpful. A good posture may help. Brace your shoulders slightly backwards, and walk 'like a model'.

979826 tn?1389036358 since u had a HA after ur nap, take a look at the position u sleep in...it can be attributed to the way ur neck is or the pillow u use...so do try a diff pillow or sleep position.
Avatar n tn Also, try sleeping on a cervical pillow, these pillows help support your neck while sleeping. I know if I sleep on a wrong pillow, I have headaches and arm pain. I hope you can get your issue resolved soon, it is no fun worrying.
Avatar m tn Hi, Around 5 years back I had severe headache problem, that time I consulted with few doctors and one of them took X-Ray of my neck and he analysed that 2 vertebra from neck have been suppressed due to some reason and he did not give any medicine, he suggested only some medicines. I also did the same thing, I just used to do neck exercise told by him and avoided taking pillow while sleeping. Few days later I got bit relax. But now a days am getting the same thing. My head starts acheing.
Avatar m tn I still sleep on my side, when my neck is not killing me. What I would say is make sure you have some Tylenol or other pain reliever of your choice in the house, and just try sleeping different ways and see if it hurts or if it is something you can do. That would really be the only way to see what works for you.
Avatar n tn Without medication pain level is above 10, after medication pain level is 9. My pain is so severe that it appears to lock the turning of my neck to the right. I am asking for any help regarding if there is exercises for this type of problem. My mornings after waking are the worse for me. I have been sleeping with 2 pillows under my legs, flat on my back, and 1 pillow under my head but this doesn't seem to be helping either. Is there any help for me?
Avatar n tn I read about the trigger points to relieve the headaches and started using a very thin pillow so the head is not too elevated during sleep...this has helped me a lot and pain is almost gone...if i get headache ever again then i massage the trigger points and it gives me relief instantly...
