1554181 tn?1294328303 With the rizotomy I still have all the other symptoms, the discomfort in neck and head is the worst of them, but at least no pain. This gives me quality of life I otherwise would not have had. My neurosurgeon prefers not to operate unless it becomes critical to do so. In South Africa not many cases of ACM is seen. I am lucky to be at a NS who has knowledge of it and is careful in his treatment. It does not take away the ACM or change the progression, only controls pain.

She received three treatments over the past year with some short term relief of pain but always come back. Beside this treatment she been doing a routine of physiotherapy, deep tisse massage, water therapy with some relief but not enough. She is going to start acupunture soon.
Avatar f tn Has anyone found any tips or tricks to help relieve some of these symptoms? Head pressure, neck pain, and balance problems make everything so difficult. I'm a newbie here and don't see the neuro until April. I haven't been given a dx yet but my gp says that my MRI shows that the base of my brain is extending down into my spinal column. It really looks to me like I have chiari and I just want some relief!
Avatar f tn Anyone else have neck pain? It seems to have come out if nowhere and I get no relief from it. I've tried everything.
1960024 tn?1355014582 I have had pretty severe Pain in the back of my neck that radiates into the back of my head for about 5 months now. I've seen my Dr. and at first he said a pulled muscle then when it did not go away he tried PT, still no relief so he tried these shots that numbed the area for a couple hours, but that was it. There's also lumps now, at my hairline and in the mid neck close to the spine, I decided to see another Dr.

Avatar f tn My 40 yr old daughter has had chronic neck pain the last 3-1/2 yrs with pain 24/7. Most medications no longer help and she has been detoxed once to give her body a chance to get relief from meds. I might add she also has fibromyalgia. She was diagnosed w/disc disease and 6 mo. ago she had the removal of 2 herniated discs in the neck area. Prior to this she was seen by numerous skilled doctors from 1 end of the country to the other, who could not find what was wrong.
Avatar f tn Also drugs such as Tegretol (gradually increase of dosage, gradual pain relief) Gapepentin and other drugs typically prescribed. See a Neurologist. Feel Better!
Avatar n tn My father-in-law was just diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis. My husband has had back and neck pain for years but in the last six months it has been severe. (He's actually complaining about it which is unusual because he has a high tolerancy for pain.) From what I read, Ankylosing Spondylitis begins in your lower back. My husband has pain all in his back and neck, mostly beginning in his mid back, up through his shoulders, neck and base of his head.
Avatar f tn I have had 4 neck surgeries, I have degenerate discs disease. I was just diagnosed with Chiari a few months ago after having more continuous headaches, migraines, dizziness, and blurred vision. What type of neck pain are you having,? Do you see a pain specialist? Most MD’s don’t handle pain management. Especially with the opioid issues here in the US. If you are here in the US, you need to see a neurologist or neurosurgeon and possibly a pain management dr.
Avatar n tn But 2 weeks ago I suffered one of my headaches that always begins in the back of my neck and pounds in my head for several days. Avatar f tn The last 2 days I have had back and neck spasms that are horrific. I will be on the go the next few days with Christmas gatherings and I just don't see how I will keep up with this pain and stiffness. Work has not been fun this week. My questions for you experts: 1) could I have made my spasticity worse by starting treatment and then stopping, known as rebound, or could they be worse because I have a respiratory infection and will resolve as I recover?
