Avatar f tn That till i noticed that if i have a very slight pressure being put on the vertebrae (for example with my hand) and I rotate my head far to the right or far to the left I can feel some kind of grinding and a sharp pain, both being dependant on how big the pressure is. This hasn't really improved much in the last week and I started to worry.
Avatar f tn In order for you to be sure if you have arthritis in your neck, you need to be seen by a doctor. I also have the grinding sound in my neck but only when I look left is it louder. I have not been diagnosed with arthritis in that area, but it wouldn't surprise me if I had it since I have arthritis in many joints of my body. Make a doctors appointment, make your complaint and they may do a MRI or Xrays to determine if you have arthritis.
Avatar n tn I could first feel it only when I moveded my neck. Now even when I move my eyes I can hear it. There is no pain. It feels like sand in my head and neck.

1552481 tn?1294192174 My neck and jaw hurts with a dull pressure pain. But the actual grinding is very intense and comes with certain movement and walking. Has anyone had this happen with their fusion and should I be concerned, or will the bone that is grinding just settle in my muscles and leave me alone? Sorry that this is so long. I just need some advise.

581504 tn?1217987070 At the base of my head in the back it hurts and I get headaches alot. The back of my neck is lumpy and makes grinding noises. Overall my neck is really sore. At times my arm joints' hurt. I got a blood count and my doctor said everything came back normal... but from my research blood work rarely will show if you have a type of cancer. My heartbeat and everything is normal. My doctor felt my lumps and said they were probably normal.
Avatar n tn s a single pop that I can hear. With me, when I just move my neck within even a small range of motion I get a lot of grinding/popping noises, but they are not so loud that others hear it. Pure conjecture, but that's my experience.
Avatar n tn I had a c1 c2 fusion done 6 weeks ago and just started to get out of the hard collar at home. They did a bone graft from my hip and when I turn my neck it makes a grinding noise. I had a xray at 4 weeks and it showed the fusion was taking place but now I am nervous that I have screwed it up somehow by turning my neck to soon. Is it possible to get a non union once the fusion has started?
Avatar m tn The grinding is noticable when I make large circles with my arm. Along with the grinding is pain in my rotator cuff and shoulder area when lifting weights, with the pain being most prominent in bench press and military press. I have also noticed occasional neck pain while exercising. I have not had a good work out since the injury first appeared. I have had this problem since July 2007, and no family physician, physiotherapist, or chiropractor has been able to figure me out.
Avatar f tn You may want to have a dentist who has knowledge in evaluating bites to check this out. In addition you have pain in jaw and face. You could be grinding. No a night guard will not stop this. In case if this was your next question.

Avatar f tn I have experienced neck and back pain on rt side of body. I also have a history of TMJ... or grinding my teeth. So with that said, the pain happens off and on all day... it stopped a few days during this past month, but most every day all day I am experiencing little bouts of pain. My doc thinks that it is being caused by my neck and back problems but with this prescription 800 mg of ibuprofen 2x a day and a musle relaxer at night along with some neck exercises, it hasn't gotten any better.
Avatar m tn Go see the doctor. It could be just about anything. That is not a usual place for pain. Your neck could be out of place or you could have disk or vertebrae problems. Also you may want to post what type of pain it is ie. burning, sharp, dull, throbbing as well as anything that makes it worse will help people on here narrow down what it could be. Best of luck to you.

Avatar f tn My dental hygienist told me that she had experienced many of these problems and then they dissipated over time because she started wearing her nightguard again. Bruxism (grinding of teeth) can also lead to back and neck problems, etc. This syndrome goes undiagnosed and unnecessary drugs are often prescribed for the wrong things. It is good to ask doctor or dentist to see if you are a "grinder." The dentist can tell.
Avatar f tn It may start simply as grinding teeth, and continue on to cause attrition in your teeth, as well as possibly cause TMJD (temporomandibular joint disorder). TMJD (TMD) MAY cause headaches, shoulder pain, chin, and neck pains. It may also cause popping and crunching noises and sometimes even pain just below and slightly ahead of your ears. If you do have history of grinding, I would suggest talking to your dentist about possibly having a nightguard made for you.
