Common Questions and Answers about Neck pain gallbladder

Avatar n tn Shoulder/Back/Neck pain to the point of spasms and it felt like a pinched nerve. Night sweats Nausea Vomiting Low grade fever Finally my stomach (upper right quadrant) started hurting and I was diagnosed with acalculous cholesystitis (gallbladder was inflamed). I guess it is usually as thin as tissue paper & mine was super thick. When this happens it presses on a nerve and cause the shoulder/neck pain. Ultimately, it was diagnosed through ultrasound. Best of luck to you.
Avatar n tn in my upper back. It feels as if a vise is appling pressure. The pain usually lasts about an hour and is at its worst in the morning when I wake up. I was 1st treated for upper respitory infection but the condition seemed to worsen. An ultra sound came back showing a "mildly enlarged liver." Yet no one will tell me what that means. I am NOT a drinker. The pain has settled behind my right shoulder blade and my stommach looks as if I am, 7 mos pregnant.
Avatar n tn The latter disease can be present in greater frequency in those who have had their gallbladder removed. It typically presents as similar to gallbladder-like pain. If this disease is considered, you can consider an ERCP with Sphincter of Oddi manometry. An upper endoscopy or 24-hr pH study can be considered to evaluate for inflammation/ulcers or GERD respectively. You may want to discuss these options with your personal physician. Followup with your personal physician is essential.
Avatar f tn So if any of you are experiencing the same type of pain as I did, having my gallbladder removed has taken away the pain. I hope this is helpfull to someone.
Avatar n tn There is a condition known as Cholechodyskinsia (Chole= gall bladder and dyskinsia = dysfunction) The gall bladder neck can get kinked and cause the gall bladder to swell and produce pain. Symptoms are the same as a stone but ususally the pain comes from lying down, as in the night, and getting up and walking around ususally lets the gall bladder fall back into place and the swelling goes down.

Avatar n tn Where are you having the pain and what kind of pain? Typically a gallbladder attack can be mild or extremely severe, sometimes so bad you can pass out from the pain. It's also typically under the right ribs or upper right abdomen. Should go get checked to see if you do have gallbladder problems.

Avatar f tn The stones can chronically irritate the gallbladder wall and cause inflammation and pain. Also, this chronic irritation is a predisposing cause for gallbladder cancer. If the stone is placed in the neck of the gall bladder, it can cause retention of bile, with stasis and consequent infection. So, the best option would be to have an elective gallbladder removal. And this is irrespective of liver disorders. Discuss these options with your doctor when you happen to meet him next time. Regards.
Avatar f tn i had the ultrasound and they found a stone in the neck of my gallbladder, and yes I have the classic symptoms diarrhea then constipation, slight to moderate pain in my stomache and sever pain between my shoulder blades in my back.
Avatar n tn 4) the danger of gallbladder disease results from stones becoming lodged in the neck of the gallbladder, causing it to become inflamed or infected; or from a stone passing from the gallbladder into the bile duct.
Avatar n tn the first time I had these symptoms were in January this year (2008) and came back again, except more suddenly this time, around July this year. The pain has lessened considerably, but I still do get occasional back and abdominal pain on my right side from time to time. I also tire very easily now and feel like sleeping for most of the day. I've also just suddenly started having tremors in my hand and don't know if it's somehow related.
Avatar f tn I was lucky mine was like a huge grape so it couldn't escape but it was stuck at the neck of the gallbladder which is why they removed it, if it had of been sitting in the bottom it probably would've been ok to leave there. Now after having it removed I have to watch the kind of food I eat cause it has a tendency to go straight through sometimes...sorry for tmi but that is the after effects for everyone.
Avatar f tn I too had no choice in my surgery as I had a golf ball sized stone which was totally blocking the neck of the gallbladder. It was not functioning at all. I am hoping for better health for all of you and myself. I'll post more as I go along. gall50 This discussion is related to Gallbladder surgery.
667078 tn?1316004535 The growth in my gallbladder is right at the neck obstructing the bile duct. The Surgeon could not believe I have endured this much pain for this long. I learned a cool new hypnosis technique in therapy today. I had warm calmness shooting through me. I can't wait to practice for surgery prep.
Avatar n tn I have no Lung or breathing problems.Ultrasound showed small focus consistent with a polyp near the neck of my gallbladder & mild fatty liver. One doc said this Lipase might be from my kidneys & another one disagreed .One doctor suggested a sweat test for Cystic Fibrosis But Im not sure about this, & am kinda getting tired of going in the wrong direction..
Avatar f tn I had my gallbladder removed laproscopicly in 2000. I have always had a bulge in my upper right side taht will hurt every so often. When I back to the surgeon about a year later he sid it was because I was obese. I have recently had a CT of my abdomen and when another doctor was explaining the results he said the clips were visible from my gallbladder surgery. Is it normal for the clips to still be there and could they be causing my pain.
Avatar n tn pain in neck. For awhile i thought the pain i get in the left side (mainly) of my neck was serious too. but Dr's checked my arteries and they are fine. my Doctor says it's muscle spasms and he's probably right. i do have problems with spasms due to neck and lower back problems. so it's mostly muscles but try relaxing, heat and maybe even an aspirin. good luck.
Avatar f tn I've been having throbbing pain on the lower neck, left, front part of my neck. It comes and goes. Doesn not hurt when I swallow. Nothing seems to bring it on. I've had my throid tested in the past before this pain started. I've had my gallbladder removed and since then, I'm having all types of problems with diarhea most of the time as well as pain under my ribs and both sides of the back under my ribs. Are these all related? What could it be?
14947301 tn?1437508268 I don't feel good at all, I have chills and all-over aches. Also, since early April, I've had constant pain in what seems to be my gallbladder, and also in my colon. I've had 2 ultrasounds, a CT-scan, a coloscopy and a gastroscopy. Nothing was found. Still waiting to know if I'm celiac (I went off gluten July 23). One more thing that bothers me is a weird sore throat/front of the neck pain that has been present for about a week. Anyone here have experience with acalculous cholecystitis?

Avatar n tn Logan074, sorry to hear about your pain. I was just diagnosed with gall stones 6 days ago. Extreme pain in my abdomen sent me to the emergency room and an ultra sound was done then. It showed the stone in the neck of my gall bladder as well as a distended gall bladder. They got the pain under controll and sent me home with a prescription of vicodin. I got in to see my primary care doc on Monday and am waiting for the surgeon to contact me to get my surgery scheduled.
Avatar n tn lastnight i went to the hospital for severe back and stomach pain. they did every test possible and came up with the thought of gallbladder stones. my symptoms: pain in my upper left shoulder decending down into my lower back. some days its my entire back. sometimes after meals i have gas and feel bloated. then pain will start to bother me in the upper left area of my abdomen. it isnt too painfull till the pain takes interst into the right side of the abdomen, i feel quite ill then.
Avatar m tn The abdominal pain, back pain, right shoulder pain, neck pain, and extreme fatigue are really getting to me, so I am really hoping that after the HIDA, we will have some true answers. Thank you for your assistance!
Avatar f tn But since the accident I've also been experiencing severe right sided chest pain that goes through to my back right shoulder blade. It actually feels like there is a knife being pushed through my right breast & out my shoulder blade. I am also having a lot of pain down my right arm, especially in the shoulder area. To add to that, I have been extremely nauseas & unable to eat w/a sharp/burning pain just below my right breast.
Avatar n tn I had gallbladder surgery 5 weeks ago, I am having a constant, sometimes severe pain in the upper right stomach area. Under the rib cage, through to the back, unable to take a breath at all, and in the last couple weeks, i have an involuntary breath intake. I just suck in a quick breath involuntarily. I have been researching the posts that sound like my symptoms, and have found simular, but not the breathing.
Avatar n tn Headache runs on RIGHT side of head like a spike going through the eye then heads to right ear and runs down neck and shoulder and arm. Right neck gets swollen . almost like entire right side of body is screaming with pain and the left side is non existant. right ear is ringing xtra loud and nausia. can go on for one to three days. sometimes foot massage can help move it out. almost seems like it releases the gallbladder and the blockage starts to flow.
