1147125 tn?1265114765 During the time it took for it to finally completely rupture, I was in increasing pain and going to numerous Drs and Pain clinics to get answers. I think back injuries are subjective to the person having the pain, not what actually happened to get the pain. I've heard of folks just getting out of bed and herniating a disc by twisting funny. You might want to get another opinion before you settle anything.
Avatar n tn Neuropathic Interscapular pain is pain in the region between the scapular resulting from injury to the nervous system. One of the best ways to treat it is having chiropractic treatments, they specialize in pinched nerves. I see one, and he really helps.
Avatar m tn While we were grappling, I rolled the wrong way and ended up twisting my neck really bad. The injury took about 2 weeks to heal, and during the initial stages of the injury I couldn't turn my head at all without feeling acute pain. During that time, I also realised (painless) swelling on the side of my neck that was twisted, and the shoulder on the same side also sagged below the opposite shoulder.
Avatar n tn An MRI was done showing damage in the c4,c5,c6 in the neck region which causes my neck to hurt constantly. I was asking if this could be also a result from a brain injury I did hit my head pretty good in the accident.
Avatar f tn i cant move my head freely as it jars and causes me pain. im talking pain killers but its not getting any better and has been slowly getting worse over the last 3 weeks. what should i do?

349463 tn?1333571576 m looking for tip or advice from other women who may have gone through a pregnancy with an injury or chronic pain. I hurt my neck around 10 weeks and for the last 7 weeks the pain has been horrible. I'm seeing a chiropractor, DO and having physical therapy twice a week now. About twice a week the pain is so bad and so blinding I have to take an advil, two tylenol and stay in bed on ice or the heating pad all day long.
Avatar m tn I am 37. I have been having neck pain and other problems for a while with progression. Have 3 thyroid nodules. Just had neck mri that showed 3 bulging discs, also says I have left formainal stenosis at C5 and C6? Encroachment on spinal cord? Also a 1.5cm hemangioma at c2. I just started trigger point injections. It gets harder everyday to turn my neck and cannot sleep. Feel like my neck and shoulders are always "tense". The pain and headaches are horrible.
Avatar n tn I would think your neck injury would be the cause of your shoulder pain. I had my gallbladder removed 4 years ago and the pain was under my rib cage and into my back. The pain went away once I had it removed. Do your research and interview a few surgeons before you have the spine surgery. It's a pretty risky procedure and you want somebody to do it right the first time. Good luck. Maybe they can remove the gallbladder and do the neck repair at the same time?
Avatar f tn I sustained an injury to my neck 20 years ago. It seems to start in the spine up near the base of my neck. After a few hours i feel my muscles in my back and along my shouldars start to become painful. The pain gets so bad it begins to burn. I now that it is the nerve endings that's causing the pain. I take Curcumin for the pain and use cold on my spine and hot packs on my muscles. I am always in pain and going to three Chiropractors has not fixed the problem.
Avatar f tn As Workers Compensation was responsible for compensation, I did not receive any recognition of any injury other than the chronic pain. Of course I have ongoing pain in my neck, back and scapula, headaches, numbess, and eventually ended up with a frozen shoulder which has now been resolved. Sometimes when I put my left arm above my head the scapula seems to "slide" down my back.
Avatar f tn What does it mean to have massive pain in the back of your head and neck that also causes dizziness and slight fainting?
Avatar n tn Thank you so much for answering my question. I was in a car accident this past august and have undiagnosed neck and shoulder pain since then. A few people have mentioned it could be a brachial plexus injury. I've had 2 shoulder MRIs which were negative except for enlarged axillary lymph nodes which is concerning. They are not at all palpable and my doctors are stumped as to what is going on.
Avatar m tn The cervical sprain or whiplash injury is what normally causes the pain after the car wreck [speaking from personal experience] most goiters and nodules are painless unless they pressing on the nerve [pinching nerve between swelling and bone]
Avatar f tn precipitation of head pain by neck movement or awkward neck positions, head pain when external pressure is applied to the neck or occipital region, restricted range of motion of the neck, and neck, shoulder and arm pain. Treatment for cervicogenic headache includes physical therapy, medications, behavioral therapy, and other modalities.
Avatar n tn I had a whiplash injury in June and found a great doctor to help with pain. He is a pain management physician. He told me at my last visit that my pain is from my accident and that I should get an attorney. He said his diagnosis is cervical facet arthropathy from trauma. Today I get his report and it says his assessments are 1. Cervical Spondylosis 2. Cervical facet arthropathy Now those seem to contradict each other. Spondylosis seems to mean age related degeneration like arthritis.

Avatar n tn You need to recall if you are on any medications that could be causing these potential side effects. Injury at the back, neck, spine, you have severe back pain you said. Twitches are common and can be due to a variety of causes like medications, cold, exercise, fatigue, an overactive thyroid, and spinal cord viral infections. You need to have other neurological disability to qualify for ALS or MS. acute and widespread twitches are usually benign.
Avatar m tn 6 yr old labradoodle, he can't look left, and limps on left front leg. In pain. Medical views?
Avatar f tn You need a MRI of the neck because you have numbness in one arm, and neck stiffness and pain. There may be a compression on your spinal nerves due to spinal injury. The arm numbness can also be due to muscle injury or due to a nerve injury. Also though it may just be a bruise and contusion, your forehead injury needs to be evaluated further. Take care!
Avatar n tn precipitation of head pain by neck movement or awkward neck positions, head pain when external pressure is applied to the neck or occipital region, restricted range of motion of the neck, and neck, shoulder and arm pain. Treatment for cervicogenic headache includes physical therapy, medications, behavioral therapy, and other modalities. Occipital neuralgia is caused by irritation or injury to two nerves that run from the upper neck to the back of the head.
Avatar m tn I am a competitive tennis player. I have had issues with shooting pain (like a shock of pain) that radiates from the back of my neck to my head. I can only describe it as "little explosions" of pain. Sometimes, this pain causes me to go to the ground (almost like I have lost function for a split second). Also, I always feel confused afterwards and my head and neck tingles. It takes me a while to get my focus back and continue to play tennis.
Avatar n tn Occipital neuralgia may be a cause to explore. If you have had any neck injury, the occipital nerves may get stretched and you may get the headaches at the occipital region. Migraine headaches can present at any region. The headaches usually last for a couple of days, and are associated with redness of eyes, visual blurring, aura, etc. This also does not seem to be the case. Do you recall having had any neck stretching injury?
Avatar f tn Hi Sue: I'm so sorry you're having this pain. I get neck injections as well. Mine usually last a few months. Have you asked your doctor these questions? Hopefully someone who knows more will answer you.
666921 tn?1254990618 From what you are saying, you have damage in the spine in the section somewhere in the neck. The neck section runs to where you feel the hump to the head. I had an injury to my neck and had the same problems with headaches (bad), the sharp pains. I can't remember about the dizziness except I do get dizzy at times. Mine came from a time I was being prepared for surgery (found later unnecessary). That was in 1996. I go to pain management now to control the pain as much as possible.
Avatar m tn Sometimes it can be costo-chondritis, inflammation of the sterna rib junction. The pain can also be due to orthopedic related causes like cervical rib, cervical spondylosis or disc prolapse. A simple x-ray will help and an orthopaedician can guide you. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
