1554181 tn?1294328303 In a radiotherapy rizotomy , under general aneasthetic in theatre, needles are placed on both sides of the neck verteabra and radio frezuency sent through it to stun the nerves. this causes the pain measage to be stopped from reaching the brain and you then do not feel headaches. I am living headache free, even though I still have all the other symptoms. This combined with miztazarpine pill at night changed my life. Are anyone else on the same kind of treatment, Please comment. thanks.
407812 tn?1211307057 I know that the headaches are caused by the pain in my neck and shoulders because they intensify whenever I do anything to increase the neck pain. The hope is probably for you to receive relief from the pain in your back and neck and thus relieve the pain causing headaches. Hope you find relief.

Avatar f tn I went to pain specialist. He thought maybe cervical redculitis. Going for MRI neck and brain, eeg and dopler on neck. Does this sound normal? Also how intense is an eeg? Info on internet makes it seem quire scary. Thanks.
1960024 tn?1355014582 Imaging studies such as CT scan or MRI may help rule out anatomical issues. The headaches may indeed be associated with the neck pain. If the previous medication and management are not helping, further evaluation and referral to a neurologist may also help. Complementary and alternative medicine including acupuncture and biofeedback therapy may also provide relief. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have been having major problems with constant dull headaches (only really hehind the eyes and temple) that seem to radiate from my right shoulder, and rhomboid/scapula pain for about 1.5 years now and have pretty much given up. I have done Right AC Joint, Right Scapula, Cervical, and Thoracic MRI's along with X-Rays of everything with no major findings. Had facet joint injections in C5 and C6 and epidural cervical injection without relief.
Avatar m tn Sometimes the pain is so bad I get sick. The pain can spread around the back of my head and out my neck. Most of the time i only get relief when my wife massages the back of my neck. This relief may only be temporary. I had put it down to sinus for a long time as I can also feel very congested in the nose. However at this stage I feel there is more to it. Could it be caused my neck problems?
11294269 tn?1422402907 I use a hot rag on my head and cold on my neck. I also take warm baths. Mine stem from my neck most of the time so if I use a heating pad it helps too. Always use a moist towel between the heating pad and skin to make sure to keep the muscles hydrated or it'll end up making it worse.
1516454 tn?1290643983 the numbness seemed to ease up over time but now im getting headaches, neck and shoulder pain, when i lay down at night i feel tightness in my chest and can feel my heart beating really fast. i get light headed all the time and can't seem to focus my eyes. i have had my eyes checked and they were fine but just some mild stigmitism.
Avatar f tn I have always suffered from migraines but for the past several months I have been getting these instant headaches. They come out of no where and my entire head starts throbbing. Also with it I get a ringing in my ears and my vision is blurry. I do work with computers and on the phone, but they happen even when I am not at work. Also the pain is most intense behind my eyeballs and at the base of my neck. If you have any explanation please help. Thank you so much.
Avatar f tn is this all related to the surgery? I need neck relief badly. I get shots of pain and stiffens up. This is miserable. I was feeling ok (not 100%) a few months after surgery but it seems some of the symptoms along with a few new ones have come up. I have been on just about every med there is since this journey began. Nothing really seems to help all the way. Feeling helpless and miserable.
Avatar f tn I use it for my neck, it works amazing at relaxing the neck muscles for me and actually helps relive tension headaches i get from my neck issues. As for muscle relaxers, (just in my case) flexeril didn't help at all, but baclofen works great. Hope that helps and good luck to you.
Avatar f tn Heat on the back and shoulders and Ice for the base of the neck helps me with the neck spasms and headaches... light massage but as I was recently informed only do light massage as it can cause symptoms to be worse if it is deep tissue.... stretching can help a little.... Here are some things to ask you Neuro about when you see them.... Physical Therapy for the spasms.
Avatar f tn The commonest type of headaches are the tension headaches. The others are migrainous headaches and those caused due to brain disorders, disorders of the eyes , neck or ears to name a few. Tension headaches are relieved by pain killers Take OTC naproxen for relief from pain. Ensure to take the medicine after food. Alcohol, smoking, altered sleep patterns and missed meals can cause tension headaches.
Avatar n tn You could be experiencing what is called Cluster Headaches. They are a severe form of headache that is similar to a migraine but are type specific and respond to unusual treatments. Go to the ER and ask for Oxygen. I know this sounds weird. But 15 minutes of pure O2 may be enough to break the headache if it is a cluster headache. I suffer from migraines and my neurologist's husband has suffered from cluster headaches for years.
Avatar n tn com when my tmj/neck problems/headaches flare up these treatments help tremendously and are not dangerous
Avatar f tn Hi, I Have had a very long history of migraine and terrible headaches all of my life then the pain at the back of my neck started and I went through an odyssey of doctors and heard everything from “you don’t have anything wrong with you-to go home in the waiting room are real patients”. In the end I at last by pure chance found a neurosurgeon that took me seriously and treated me as a real person.

Avatar m tn i am a 34 yr old male that has severe headaches that can last for a week at a time. the pain generally comes from the back of my neck, and it gets sore and sensitive behind my right ear. i can get light sensitive but not always and can get sick. no tylenol, ibuprofen or any other otc meds seem to help, i cant sleep because they hurt so bad, and i can get little relief with sleeping with a heating pad under my head.
