1099201 tn?1338180918 s until I had an ultrasound of my thyroid (my sister had thyroid cancer.) I had no neck pain but sometimes felt a fullness when I swallowed. I would bring it up to your Endo and also have an ultrasound done if you haven't already. Best of luck to you!
Avatar f tn Is it possible that the nodules have gotten bigger since the ultrasound (I have been saying that it feels as if the ultrasound has irritated my neck and anything going on in there.) Thanks again for any info/advice you can give. I have an appointment with an ENT on Monday.
Avatar m tn I would insist the doctor do an ultrasound and biopsy. I had a small knot on the lower left side of my neck. Doctors kept telling me not to worry was probably a swollen lymph node. After both of my parents & all my grandparents dying of cancer, I insisted my doctor check it out. You guessed it....thyroid cancer. Ten years I had this knot & doctors kept blowing it off. Had to have my thyroid & 22 lymph nodes, of which 7 were malignate removed.
Avatar n tn This has become more frequent the last year or so. My right lymph node on my neck is swollen. Definitely a positive lymph node on the neck. I used to be able to recall peoples names very well, and now I am getting really bad about it. A few weeks ago, I must have had a virus because I had a low grade fever for a good 2 to 3 weeks. I admit that I don't drink enough water, but I used to be soo active (gym, study without problem, functioned on minimal sleep, etc.
Avatar f tn This all started on March 12th when I noticed my neck felt funny.. so I rubbed the back of my head right over top of the neck where it meats the head .. I notice I had a knot there. So I really paid it no mind until a few days later it didn't go away.. so I started to get a lil worried and started checking my neck and head for knots about a 3-4 days later I notice a knot in my neck so I mad a doctor's appointment.
Avatar n tn Whether it's a vascular formation (which sounds frightening because it isn't normal) or thyroid nodule you need an ultrasound to check it out. Insist that your doctor refer you for a thyroid ultrasound with flow study (to see where the blood flow is).
Avatar n tn Your doctor needs to do an imaging study of your neck - either ultrasound or CT scan, etc. to see what it may be.
Avatar f tn I went in for my womens wellness exam, doc said thyroid was prominent. Did an ultrasound yesterday, got the report today. It says I have a dominant mass involving most fo the left lob of the thyroid measuring up to 4.7 x 3.6 x 2.2 cm. There is a 8 mm hypoechoic lesion in the right lobe, but is of doubtful significance. Isthumus is 4 mm. Right lobe measures 4.2 x 1.3 x 1.5 cm and left lobe measures greater than 5 x 3.2 x 2.4 cm.
Avatar m tn I went to my GP and he said I might have lymphedema and sent me off to do a ultrasound of the neck followed by FNA. When I went to radiology in my local area, they misinterpreted it and ment that I do an FNA under the ultrasound. I changed that on the spot and did my ultrasound yesterday. This is what the radiologists report said: "18mm x 6mm hypoechoic bulky node with no clear benign fatty hilum".
Avatar f tn s in the middle of the side of my neck and slowly growing to the front of my neck. Doctors did an ultrasound plus blood work and saw nothing abnormal and said it's just me growing weirdly. There's no pain but it's uncomfortable and causes pressure on the inside my neck. Do you think it is from growing or something else?

Avatar n tn s calculations, I had about a 5% chance of cancer, but I was having hoarseness and swallowing issues, so I had a right lobectomy to check for cancer and hopefully alleviate my symptoms. All of the information that I read told me that my chances of having cancer were more like 15-25%. Two weeks after surgery, I was feeling great and I thought I would keep the other half of my thyroid, then I got the news: microscopic multifocal papillary cancer. So now the other side has to go.
Avatar f tn The past few months I have noticed the right side of my neck either enlarged or with a growth. The US results say I have a 7mm nodule on my isthmus and a enlarged lymph node on the left side of my thyroid gland. I FEEL HORRIBLE. I'm beyond tired, my neck and the the entire right side of my thyroid aches constantly, I always feel like I have something caught in my throat, and swallowing is not horrible but definately becoming a problem.
Avatar n tn There are two possible non-cancer reasons that a node can stay enlarged for a long, long time. - fibrosis (scar tissue) has developed inside - there is some ongoing infection/inflammation Each of those is much more likely than any cancer, especially if she had a tooth problem. So yes, she should want to know what the cause is; but no, don't worry about cancer. But if you still really, really want to rule out cancer, then ask for an ultrasound.
Avatar f tn 4cm and ordered an ultrasound. It is hard and rubbery and does not hurt. Ultrasound results state it has grown to 2.6cm x 1.3cm (in 1 month) and has no fatty hilum. Performed at a level 5 in the area of palpable abnormality. Mild increase in vascularity. good Has anyone else had a similar case and what was it? Thank you, in advance, for any replies.
Avatar f tn Had FNA biopsy of the 3cm nodule today. When he drained off the fluid there was calcification under the fluid. He took a biopsy of those also. Now waiting just waiting for the results. Thanks for your response. This web site has been very helpful.
Avatar f tn Have you had a good neck ultrasound?? This is best done by a thyroid specialist -- lymph nodes in the neck can be missed by WBS, PET and MRI and this needs to be assessed prior to empiric I-131 treatment.

Avatar f tn About a month ago, my regular doctor found a lump on my throat and sent me in for an ultrasound They found 2 nodules (1.4 and 2.1 cm). My regular doctor sent me to an endocrinologist. After reading the ultrasound report and feeling my throat, the endocrinologist suggested getting my thyroid removed, which I would be fine with. She also scheduled a biopsy.
