Neck and shoulder pain dizziness

Common Questions and Answers about Neck and shoulder pain dizziness

neck

Avatar m tn Feeling dizzy on standing up could be due to fall in blood pressure (called postural hypotension), ear problems, cervical spondylitis and inflamed muscles in the neck (sternocleidomastoid). The latter two can also cause pain in the area between your neck and shoulder. Severe acidity with gastric reflux too can cause dizziness. Please discuss with your doctor. You will need some tests for a confirmed diagnosis. Take care!
Avatar n tn After few months i had this excruciating pain in my left shoulder, neck and arm.my doctor gave me the pain killer but its ma second day after the pain occurred and i can still feel the pain when i do any moment in ma left hand.
Avatar m tn You may certainly have wrist tendonitis, but why the neck and shoulder pain. The pain and numbness you are having could be from your neck and an EMG would assist with that answer. It is a nerve conduction study. You also need an xray and MRI of your neck to rule out that as a cause for your numbness. I would see a neurologist.
Avatar m tn I wonder if it was a mis-diagnosis or half-diagnosis, and it makes me question whether the nerve pinching issues is actually at the shoulder RATHER than the neck. Regardless, the issue is no longer in my neck and shoulder, but in my neck, shoulder, and back. It's difficult to even pinpoint the pain. It's like one big, sore clump spawning from mid-back to shoulder to neck. DIFFICULTY SPEAKING: One of the red flags I'm experiencing is difficulty speaking.

Avatar n tn Went to phisio, which helped with the initial horrible pain, but now I still have shoulder and upper shoulder blade pain, and also neck pain, occasionally along with it.There are times when the pain is still felt in my chest as well, although numerous trips to the hospital has assured me that mu heart is fine.(still a very scary feeling!)I also occasionally have a numbness in my left arm. Please help with suggestions!!! I've had an MRI done on my neck, and that was fine too.
Avatar n tn Hi, I think your symptoms may be due to nerve irritation in the cervical (neck) spine because of cervical disc bulge. This pain may be referred and perceived as occurring in the back of head & shoulders (as it blades)- LHERMITTES SIGN, arms or chest, rather than just the neck. Other symptoms may include vertigo, nausea (dizziness) and stiffness. It will be best that you consult a neurologist who would like to prescribe Pain killers, steroid and muscle relaxants.
365545 tn?1268512537 In few people, this pain may be referred and perceived as occurring in the back of head, shoulders, arms or chest, rather than just the neck. Other symptoms may include vertigo, nausea (dizziness) and stiffness can be intermittent. It will be best that you consult a neurologist who would like to prescribe Pain killers, steroid and muscle relaxants. Other treatments could be cervical orthosis such as a soft cervical collar/stiffer neck brace to restrict neck movement.
Avatar f tn I am still having neck and shoulder tension and headaches still feel the tension in my shoulders all the time. Went to dentist to see if it was a bad tooth, been to the ear, nose, throat doctor, he said I need nose surgery, well I have known that for 20 years. But anyway this head stuff and tension is crippling. Anyone else had this problem? I am thinking maybe I need to have a brain scan next. Thanks for letting me whine. I am not usually such a baby. Oh!! I still cry daily.
Avatar n tn Hi! I've been getting increasingly dizzy when I turn my head to the side. I also get pain in my neck when I turn it, and can't turn it very far. It often feels sore, like the muscles in the back have just had a work out. It also feels stiff and like I need to crack it. It often cracks on its own when I move it. There is also some numbness I did used to crack my neck when I was younger. I do have some pressure in my ears, but the neck issues have been happening longer.
Avatar f tn Yes, the ulnar nerve, the shoulder and the neck are related. The ulnar nerve originates in the neck. You probably need to do some neck stretches and posture related exercises. Just see your Doctor for a referral to a good Physical Therapist. No Chiropractors.
Avatar n tn The tingling is now gone, but I still have upper back/shoulder blade pain and arm pain. The pain ususally starts in my upper back, then under my armpit, then my upper arm feels tight and starts to hurt and the pain then radiates down the front of my arm, under my wrist and sometimes into my hand. And I still feel as if my arm is weaker. Last night I had some muscle twitches in my shoulder and when I lean back to stretch my upper back my shoulder does hurt some.
Avatar f tn m getting the run around. The neck pain I have lived with for years but the shoulder and gripping pain in my upper arm is really ugly. My shoulder hurts when I move it but the gripping pain around my upper arm (about half way between shoulder and elbow) feels live a red hot band squeezing my arm. It causes me to double over in pain and I have very little use of my left arm on most days. The hydrocodone does little to ease the pain.
Avatar n tn Dear Nick, Thanks for the reply.I have gone this neck pain and shoulder pain for last three months with dizziness does these symptoms related to seroconversions something( i have learned through threads only).Whats the process of ECLIA tests. Not much details given in google about them. Are they good enough at 12th week? Then what are red dots on my wife i have seen? Are these can be mere anxiety driven or coincidence?Kindly answer!!!
Avatar f tn Myocardial infarction pain is characteristically crushing retrosternal chest pain which may move to arms, shoulder, neck, teeth, jaw, belly area or back. This can be squeezing, lasting for 20 minutes. Rest and nitroglycerin may help relieve the pain to some extent. Other symptoms are anxiety, cough, dizziness, palpitations, shortness of breath etc. your doctor would like to check the cardiac enzymes like troponin and CPK, CPK MB.
Avatar m tn I have had ongoing problems for the last couple of years. All on the right side. It started with a migraine with aura that wouldn't go away and has continued with dizziness. I have stiffness in the right side of my neck, and quite a bit of pain there. I have had x-rays, mri's, ct scans, spinal tap, etc (that showed nothing conclusive). I have some bowel difficulty and ibs since this episode. I get some relief from chiropractic adjustment in my neck area.
Avatar f tn I have a few symptoms that make it hard for a proper diagnonis - constant neck pain, shoulder to elbow pain, lots of numbness in neck, shoulders & blades & arms. Ringing in ears, especially the right ear, dizziness, blurred vision, headaches. I also have PVC's and Afib. I have been researching these sysmptons and the words schwannoma tumor came up a few times. Any thoughts on this?
Avatar m tn ve been getting chest pain, dizziness, left arm pain, sometimes both arms, shoulder pain, shortness of breath, feeling weak, and not hardly been able to sleep lately. Like I said, I thought I was coming down with the Flu or something. I'd eat and then sometimes throw it back up. Then I thought I was dehydrated but my pee is clear and stuff. My eye site seems to be blurrier. My neck has also been hurting. I thought I might have slept funny.

774736 tn?1311331385 I see a doctor for TMJ and he says that if you have problems with your jaw they can cause all sorts of weird symptoms. Like headaches and neck pain, ear pain, dizziness. See if a change in your posture helps and if that doesn't cut out all chewy type of food because it could be your jaw.

Avatar m tn Hey community, This is the first time I've ever joined an online community for help. I'll tell you my story, hopefully with as much clarity as possible, in hopes that I can receive some wise words or help from somebody out there. STARTED WITH SHOULDER: Three years ago, at the age of 24, I woke up feeling fine and healthy. Some three hours later, a burning pain from my right shoulder sent me to the ER in the most pain I've ever experienced in my life.
8851068 tn?1400201603 I also have pain in the neck area, starting from my head and continues to my shoulder that lasts for days, but I always thought is just the cold or sleeping for too long/short hours, is this can be serious?
